I think forced trades is the easiest way to go, as long as you don't go crazy with it and load up your roster. But, as you stated, you're just trying to keep it real. Good luck.

Yes, I have been doing that with individual baserunners. I just have to be quicker. Thanks for the help. -

Auto baserunning is either on or off. I have it off. My post may have been confusing regarding assist baserunning. It may have been an option on earlier MLB the show releases. On assist, the baserunner would at least take the first few steps, then you have control. There does seem to be a delay in getting them to start taking off with auto baserunning off. I just have to be quicker on the trigger. Thanks for the help. -
I have had this problem for years, and it just doesn't seem to get adressed. Currently playing The Show 25 on PS5, franchise mode. Using directional arrow to designate a specific base, then the corresponding baserunner button. L1 to advance all runners and R1 to return all. My problems; runner on first with 2 outs, the ball is hit, could be a fly ball liner or ground ball, the runner holds the bag. More than 1 runner on with 2 outs, all runners stay put when the ball is hit. I have to keep mashing the L1 to get them to move. I don't remember when the first Show came out, but it's been a problem throughout. Is there another baserunning mode that would help? Currently on assist. Believe me I've tried everything, and apologize if it's already been adressed.

I assume you are playing online because I've never seen an opposing pitcher step off without throwing to a base in franchise mode. The only thing I can figure is you are hitting the button for steal, and the runner takes off as soon as the pitcher makes a move. Base running is crazy in this game.

If a major league player tried to steal with a 5 run lead, he would take one in his ear hole his next at bat. I know this doesn't answer your question, but maybe that was the thinking. I can't steal anyway, so I've never tried it with a big lead.

No, but I do not play online. However, maybe the person you were playing knew there was a glitch, and let the ball drop on purpose, knowing the runners would try to advance. Or maybe thinking you would get confused and start your runners. I guess it worked for him through no fault of your own.

I have been having base running problems for the past few years (Playstation). Mostly with 2 outs. My runner on first will not run on the hit, but will want to return to the bag, with 2 outs. Same with runners on first and second, or bases loaded. I've tried assist base running, auto running, nothing keeps the runner from wanting to tag up with 2 outs. I have to make sure I keep mashing that L1 button as soon as I make contact. Frustrating to get forced out at second with 2 outs and a single to center.
What to do if my franchise team gets a big time star in a real life trade?
