The no-sell nonsense really pissed me off and I haven't played since the latest BR program dropped, but SDS' explanation made it a whole lot easier for me to stay away. So thanks for that SDS!

Yeah...and every time you enter, you get a pack...even if you go 0-2, right?
A pack that costs 1500 Stubs, no?
Funny but you left that out of your entire word problem...the 60K in Stubs you use also gets you 40 Packs. Plus the reward.
IDK...I don't see what the fuss is about.
But I play online for fun and would play without the little digital dopamine "rewards"...
1 Silver Minor League Uniform
3 Free Agent Commons
1 Bronze ScrubHardly worth your entry to BR. When did you start playing DD? You used to be able to buy all the LS cards, lock them in and get the rewards and then quick sell them to get some of your stubs back. You used to get a card after every game played whether it was Conquest, Vs CPU or any game. Now its only Vs CPU. Slowly but surely they are eliminating every avenue of making stubs without spending real money and you don't see what all the fuss is about? Yet you can't stop complaining about all the high diamonds being released early. I've seen the forum come full circle since 16. Thanks for the wake up call.
Well said. I was honestly ok with them removing the ability to quicksell locked cards back then(because at a certain point in the year the LS and other small collections were literally free after the quicksells), but this monetization path they are going down is probably going to drive me away from this game for good(I used to play 2k more than this game fwiw, quit that around 18). Plenty of good games on the PS+ Extra and premium services I've been wanting to try so it's probably for the better.

If they would have done this when they originally made the programs there would not have been a problem, that I can agree on. Doing it this way, especially after some streamers made some boise about wanting this to happen, is blatantly disrespectful to the people that give SDS their paychecks
if your spending your paycheck on this game thats on you. You can play BR and Ranked and earn two free 99's without even having to be good.
I should have clarified, I meant it as the 95% of us that get screwed over by this keep the lights on at SDS.

I’ve read through this and multiple other threads and I see good arguments from both sides. Probably nobody will care what I think but here’s my 2 cents.
If you go back 3 years ago, there were no programs for RS/BR. Only way to get these special cards were to make it to WS and go 12-0.
In my honest opinion, the way they just made set 2 is how it should’ve been implanted in the first place when they introduced programs.
Lets not kid ourselves, “programs” are a handout. If you’re gonna be handed out a special card for participating, it shouldn’t be worth as much as the one who earned his way to WS or 12-0 in BR. It’s a great way to encourage those who can’t make it or don’t have the time to get what was an unattainable before without having to spend 300-400K stubs.
They should just have stub vouchers for going 12-0/making world series. Gatekeeping the cards is dumb as hell. BR exploded in popularity when the program was added. If they implemented it from the start 3 years ago it would have been different. Taking things away from players is bad. I didn't play BR before the programs and I'm not doing so now. The number of players that feel the same as me I can almost guarantee is much higher than the 40 players total that wanted this.
None of what you have said is true. BR has always been a popular mode since it’s introduction a few years back. The only difference is the accessibility of the rewards which the good players said was only going to saturate the market which it did. Please tell me why you’re entitled to a sellable reward. Because the 12-0 guy gets it? So you’re telling me that your equal to that player? You see that’s the difference between equity and equality. You want to something for nothing while the other person earned his reward even though you are given the same opportunities as the 12-0 player. This is the scourge of socialism. Make everyone believe they are the same even when merit proves otherwise.
You are the least credible person on this forum and have been for years. I'm amazed they let you make a new account under the same exact name with lowercase letters and it didn't auto trigger a ban tbh. If you think casual online players played BR before the program you are delusional. The only ones that played BR before were capable 12-0 players and the "diamond make the game play bad crowd". It was a waste of time for everyone else

Also I'll add, I was fine-ish with no sell event rewinds and RS rewards. The majority of players are spending 60k in entry fees to get a reward they can't even sell. I'm not even in the group of players that the streamer's didn't want getting these cards. I just think about players other than myself

I've been a SDS defender in the past, but these no sell packs are complete bogus and killed any desire for me to play online personally
I've honestly been wondering what you thought about some of the things with this year's games. I feel like you have always been very level headed on most things.
I think the gameplay is better than its been in a while. I think sets and seasons could have worked if all the good cards weren't in packs. The no sell packs are a fat massive L though. No way around it, no sell packs for online rewards are bad. I was one of the most outspoken against cards with waitlists back in mlb 20, and I would like to think I'm partially responsible for Rewind packs and the Ranked/BR Programs(probably not but a man can dream). It just stinks to see them go down this road. Listening to top players has gone poorly for every video game ever made

I'm pretty indifferent. It's no different than like faces of the franchise for example just looks a little better. Of course any card art is better than that monstrosity that was face if the franchise bagwell in MLB 20

Which mini seasons are you playing, only the classic one would allow the 94 Duvall to be in
Team Affinity. Why would that card only be able to go into classic? It took all of my other cards?
ThanksIt the team affinity mini season you can only use cards obtained in team affinity + live series I do believe. (Although it might be all charisma cards and captains I haven't done it in a while)

@samguenther1987 said in Why are BR WBC cards spiking in price?:
There should be close to if not exactly 180 core cards not including the LS series cards.
LS Collection Rewards-39
Negro League Cards-9
Team Affinity 1-60
Mexico Program-16
BR-24
USA Conquest-11?Theres probably 20 or so from miscellaneous places so as of now there is probably close to 180 yeah. Safe to assume probably another 60 henchman in TA2 though one would think

Nice work. Every season for about 4 years I've tried to motivate myself to make this push and just never get around to it. I think I'm capable of doing it but there is just too much to do in this game to put that kind of time into ranked for me
-
I would hope so. Jackie and probably Satch are guaranteed but I definitely want all these guys to get 99s
-
If you are in fact playing on switch that is 100% your problem. You can't be shocked that a game designed for $600 consoles doesn't work right on your portable console designed for Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon
-
It is guaranteed to be in team affinity or another program if it isn't purchasable
-
I'm not sure why anyone is opposed to this tbh. HOF is pretty much universally agreed upon to be the best difficulty but anyone that plays HOF/Legend games and it would get people to actually play after they hit WS. Over half of the WS players stop playing RS upon hitting 900 and the window HOF games are played at is just too small. Moving legend back to 1000 is far better than moving HOF up to 600
