Despite some early flaws, I'm enjoying the game so far. Thanks, SDS employees.
  • T tfrog76

Sure, being inside has left me with little to do other than grinding out team affinity missions, but given the current situation, I'd like to personally thank SDS for giving us all an escape from reality.

    I'm being sincere.

Perhaps this will be the first non-toxic thread of the day and people can be positive for a change.

So definitely not a continuation of the thread I wasted 20 minutes reading earlier that was deleted.

I guess I was wrong about the non-toxic part of my post. First comment, too. Seriously, people, if you cannot say something nice, move on. It's not that complicated.

I post something kind, and boom, right out of the gate....smh. My old post had useful information. I cannot control anyone else's behavior beyond that. Have a good day.

The first paragraph of the post was great. However it was marred by the passive aggression of the second.

Yeah, pretty sad I had to put a disclaimer in my post. The world is at that point though.

  • Al Kaline, 11 hits, 4 extra base hits, 2 HR in 7 games mission
  • T tfrog76

This mission is really rookie, huh? Tried it over 20 times, still always come up short by 1 or 2 in the hits or HR category.

Guys throwing all-star level sliders and breaking stuff and dotting corners. Gets real, real old, fellas.

Troll away, tell me how much I suck.

Lol no offense dude but this is on veteran...

Would love to go just ONE thread without someone telling everybody else how much better they are. There are a lot of insanely frustrating veteran missions, your passive aggressive comment aside.

@tfrog76 said in Jackie Robinson missions. Take notes SDS.:

I don't know how, but I finished all the offline missions by some major miracle. The two doubles and a stolen base was the hardest one for me, oddly.

But I want to point out a few things, if anyone at SDS is paying attention.

    1. It would be nice for players who haven't beat these challenges if you let Robinson actually get a full leadoff, or extend his leadoff in these moments before the pitcher starts his windup. Especially when you are accelerating the counts to 1-1 2-2, etc. Not cool. Nothing like needing a stolen base to beat a challenge and the pitcher starts his windup before you can get a lead properly.

    2. Stop making completing a program contingent upon playing completing some things online. Sure, you can get the Robinson diamond card if you beat all the offline and conquest challenges, but to get the rewards beyond that, you are forced to play online. And as a 40-something year-old player, I don't want the toxic nonsense that comes along with it. Give us the option to complete these offline if we choose. Tons of other customers are saying the same thing on here today.

    3. I noticed that there were some offline missions left uncompleted in Jackie Robinson's Stage 1 of this program. But because I completed 35 Program points/stars/whatever in them, I cannot go back and get those points even if I complete those goals.

Huh? What kind of nonsense is that? Really?

Anyway, my two cents, and plenty of others on here today are posting the same thing.

a lot of your points are excellent but i will say that i HATE offline moments and would prefer more ONLINE moments to counteradjust these nonsense 'total 7 base moments' etc.

The 7 base moment is horrific.

    1. Agree

    2. Disagree.

    3. Disagree

So I go against what you say which is basically: offline only guys should get the same reward as online guys. DD is built around online play so I support there being online perks for achieving goals.

Side note: online game play has a low level of toxicity by the member base. Are there a few who fake bunt and try to use the knucklers? Sure. They are few and far between.

The sense of resentment the offline guys have towards the online crowd is off base. You guys just want them to conform the standards to what you're comfortable with.

    Standards?

No, we just don't want to have to play laggy, buggy online games with rage quitters, pausers, and juveniles who don't respect anyone because they are sitting at home in their parents' basements.

We want to relax and enjoy the game and have the same chance at unlocking rewards as those who play online all day. You say DD is built around online play, but really, it has more options of things to do offline than online. Almost all the missions they introduce are offline based. Conquest is offline based. Programs are offline.

Only ranked seasons and Battle Royale, basically, are online. What is wrong with having BOTH online and offline options to achieve those goals?

Nothing. No reason they cannot make both types of players happy at the same time. None.

@the_dragon1912 said in Daily Jackie Robinson log in.:

I dont understand why people claim the difficulty is harder on these sets of missions specifically. The card is pure garbage plain and simple. I don’t think there should be doubles missions at all, but just because the card is garbage doesn’t mean they lie about the difficulty

You troll here every time someone disagrees with you or has a different opinion. Every, Single. Time. Move on, dude. Seriously. When people say the word "toxic" in forums, they are talking about individuals like YOU.

  • It's about time. The White Sox finally got some respect in live series.

    Long overdue.

  • 1st Inning showdown- what a joke. Check this out.
  • T tfrog76

So I decide to skip to the final showdown just to see what happens. Knowing it will be really hard, but hey, what the heck, you know?

Well, what a sucker I am. 500 stub entry fee, fine. But the prize for the final challenge is a live gold card.

But here's the kicker: To win that card you have to score 16 RUNS. Yes, SIXTEEN, on ALL-STAR, against legend Roy Oswalt, before making 15 outs, to win the final challenge.

    For a lousy GOLD card.

What. The. Fuuuuudge. Thanks for stealing everyone's stubs, SDS. That's horse bleep, fellas. And you KNOW it is.

  • First Inning Showdown final boss, this is nonsense, SDS
  • T tfrog76

So it took 43 pitches before Kenley Jansen even reached YELLOW on the fatigue meter.

Umm, he's a closer. This final battle is hard enough chasing four or five runs on All-Star as it is. Funny how in ANY other mode, closers are yellow or red in under 20 pitches every single time.

Smh. That is all for today.

  • We need more new content
  • T tfrog76

Beat all the Conquest maps. Am almost done with the Eckersley program. Doing well with my team affinity and have unlocked cards. Am at Level 60 already. Showdown gets old quick.

The lack of a season yet is really making it difficult, too, I'm sure. Hopefully they add some new things to do soon because i actually put the game down today for a long time for lack of things to do. I don't want to just grind out team affinity missions all day.

  • New bug in Kerry Wood mission
  • T tfrog76

Struck out all three batters as required against the Orioles in one of the Kerry Wood missions, got no credit for it afterwards. Granted, it's an easy mission, but there were two other bugs in the exact same mission.

Reported them to SDS, but figured I would share. Also, my team abbreviation was next to the Orioles logo prior to entering the challenge, and during the challenge and postgame, the CHC Cubs abbreviation was next to the Orioles' logo.

Three bugs in the same newly released challenge is not a good look, fellas.

@T-Rox_09 said in 93 tony gwynn and 91 roberto alomar:

Gwynn just did it again on a routine fly ball. What the hell is going on with this Fielding?

Lost two games on All-Star in the 9th inning because of the fly ball glitch, both times I needed those wins to get Granderson.

I eventually won on the third try, but it is soooo frustrating to lose a game the same way multiple times in a row. I cannot understand why this isn't patched yet.

  • Was tempted to sell Kopech to get Ty Cobb and Johnnny Bench last night.
  • T tfrog76

Glad I didn't. Being a Sox fan, Kopech throwing 102 MPH as a starter is awesome.

I mean, sure, last night it would have been doable since I had an extra 11,000 stubs and he was going for 50,000, and dropped in price today ... but still glad I didn't.

That perk he has makes his card really valuable, even as an 87 starter.

@allmustfall16 said in Was tempted to sell Kopech to get Ty Cobb and Johnnny Bench last night.:

He’s great, Pearson is even better. No one throws gas like those too.

Pearson is just a little more expensive and has a little better control.

I’ve said it a bunch on here. Kopech, Pearson, Mize, and Whitley are the best pitchers in the game not named Newhouser or Kluber.

Those four (and XP rewards) are the only ones I feel comfortable with in ranked. Seems like everyone tees off on LS pitchers.

Got Newhauser in my rotation now too at Level 80. Pretty sweet.

I move around to whatever margin I can find. IDK why you're laying out specific cards though lol. Prob won't affect anything, but still.

Yea I just sit make sure that after the 10% I’m making 100 stubs or more. Gets frustrating though when your selling for 1490 and some random crashes the market by posting at 1400 lol

Some random? So it's okay for you to try and flip stubs, but not them, because they are seeking less profit than you and undercut you? That's how the market works, man. All these videos of people claiming they are making 20K an hour on stubs are mostly liars. Sure, you might make 300 or 400 stubs here and there if you are lucky, but 95 percent of the time, someone will come in and lowball your price, so it is a frustrating waste of time, really.

I personally love lowballing people by 20 or 30 stubs because I get sick of everyone acting like this is the price as right and bidding 1 stub lower than the other person every five seconds.

Makes me feel like I've won a small victory over you guys trying to make 100 stubs at a time for hours on end.

  • SDS, your strike zone is unrealistic nonsense. Seriously.
  • T tfrog76

The more I play this game, the more I realize something. Their strike zone box for hitters has the top of the zone at hitters' belts.

Which is fine, whatever. But if you try to square ANYTHING up that's belt high at the top of that strike zone, which in REAL life is where balls normally get crushed, you instead almost always fly out in this game.

Belt high strikes should be the middle to middle upper part of the zone, not the uppermost part of it. That's not real baseball.

It took me 2 attempts but I finished it in game 5. Second attempt I just sat on curveballs and hit 5 HR, with 10 XBH. Its doable, you just have to stick to your plan. Both Mikolas and Wainright throw quite a few hanging curveballs.

Umm, okay, that must be why I haven't been able to beat it since 4 a.m. today in 30 different 7-game attempts.

I have gone from level 98 bronze to Level 6 silver since 4 a.m. trying to beat this. That's insanity. And I've been playing this game for years. I have had SO many balls timed right or squared up for outs, it's ridiculous.
