@iBonafideScrub__PSN I’ve always thought they do that at the start of the year when there’s not a lot of stubs in circulation. Over night you’d see some cards almost hit quick sell do to lack of orders. Then you’d see one come in 10k over the last, then 5k, etc.

This used to be the most active and enjoyable part of the cycle, lots of people finishing live series collections, looking forward to the big collection and all-star game content, really filling out your rotation and lineup. This year the game and community around it feel empty, roster options are terrible and progression in player overalls move way too fast. My personal opinion is that this is close to the worst possible content structure you could design.

I already pay a yearly subscription for the game along with a monthly fee for PSN, there’s zero chance I’d pay another fee on top of those just because they want to extract the maximum amount of revenue they can. I’ve already stopped playing for the most part and it’s only May. There’s too many other games, real life, outdoors to check out to support a game that doesn’t respect or value there customer base.

Every time I read the posts here there’s like three unhinged people that attack any anti SDS comment. The game is obviously in a terrible state and no amount of personal attacks will change reality.

Games been out for two months and I’ve already lost interest in playing. The grind, collections, seasons have made the thought of turning on the game unappealing. SDS has show zero consideration for the consumer.

Zero reason to collect any cards this year, all cards are out classed by the time you reach them and the 99’s have cheaper alternatives on the market to wildcard. Why lock in 500k worth of cards when you can buy Posada in a week for 40k to use next season.

Game definitely has passed its peak and this years game is cooked. Sony needs to increase SDS’s budget to expand their dev team and reduce expectations on how much money they bring in. Either that or have a new developer make a MLB game because what ever this year is doing more harm than good to baseball in general.

Personally I would have preferred they went in the completely opposite direction. Cap out the rewards at 85s to start. That would make silvers, golds, and live series players actually have a purpose other than for collections (they might as well be hats or jerseys). And when you got that first diamond, it would feel like an accomplishment. If you pulled a diamond, it would feel like a huge win. Call me crazy, but it seems like that would be a fun game.

The community has been quite vocal about how SDS has capped out rewards early on and nerf what should be good cards (April POTMs for example) just to meet these requirements. SDS has listened to the community, thought outside the box when it comes to how to improve on the fantasy card-collecting type of modes of sport games. We understand that you may not like it, but the majority of the community asked SDS to come up with something different and they did.

Not sure if you can speak on behalf of the community nor that the "majority of the community asked them to". Some will like it, some won't.

This is a ridiculous comment. Of course you’re speaking for the community. That’s literally exactly what you did. Which is fine, but own it.

You are truly stubborn in your ways, my friend. You came to wrong place to get your confirmation bias needs here! All you have to do is check out the history of this community forum, all the other community forums on this game, and the history of social media articles on this game to find out the majority voice about this topic. Either you learn to enjoy the game or not is your choice. I am willing to bet your prediction of this game not lasting is not going to pan out like you think. I wish you happiness in life, my friend, and maybe you should go enjoy something other than this video game in order to find that happiness!

It’s definitely common knowledge that the start of the year and using lower rated cards is considered to be the best part of the game. Creating a false narrative isn’t going to change peoples minds.

Sure if that's the ONLY way you could earn XP. But it's not as I posted earlier. Your 518 games completely ignores collections, showdown, conquests, player programs, & daily missions.

Just giving numbers, it’s about 130 hours of gameplay to finish without any of the other ways. I haven’t been able to finish a game all night so those numbers might be a little low.

They took away 2x before they fixed their servers. What a complete train wreck this year has been.

I’ve been going back and forth on it because I have like 7k commons. I definitely don’t want to list them all haha. But if each common averages 35 stubs and it takes 25k, 50k and 75k to do them then that is 52,500 stubs per exchange. Seems steep.

I don’t know what the price per with silvers
/golds would be though.

Look for cheap golds right now, there’s an 83 Wade Boggs that’s selling for like 1100.

They always reward people for playing the game (when we can play it) and they always do a good job at putting out content. Maybe extending the inning program is not the best way to reward people that have had issues but they still need to reward people that are going through issues.

why do we need to be rewarded?

We have had tons of server issues, people losing stubs, people losing cards and ranked seasons record issues. At the very least a 10 pack bundle.

Unfortunately this is a PSN game, they own SDS, that’s the issue with MLB the Show... no competition to drive them to produce a quality product. It’s really that simple.

I’m hoping this opens the door for a new game to compete with The Show. Seems like complacency and greed derailed this years game.

I get the whole "rage against corporations" but you are so far off base here. It was MLB not SDS that forced the game to XB as well as PS. It was MLB not SDS that decided to then put it into XB gamepass. The second decision exacerbated what was already going to be an issue of expanding the player base. The last #s I saw in Jan of this year gamepass had 18 million subscribers and it wasn't announced until 4/2 that the game would be available on gamepass. How do you prepare for that kind of influx when your game is supposed to drop just a few weeks later? That's not complacency or greed on SDS part which is who you are railing against.

You sure are putting a lot of words in my mouth lol. Of course Sony and the MLB forced SDS’s hand in putting the game out on Xbox but management at SDS had to green light the timeline. They over promised and under delivered so they are accountable for that.

It was fine all night. They just had the reg scheduled server maintenance at 7amPT. I was playing from about 10pm to 230am central no problems.

I got dropped during another showdown final last night, probably sixth or seventh at this point. It was stable for longer yesterday but the same problems are still there.
