then whats the use to get all these new players from drop 3. I liked it the old way where you were forced to play w/ the new topps now cards so you could learn them.

Because the community complained they had to use cards that they would never use anyways

I wonder who they really listen to. Always seems like a small group of people who think they know better than the majority. And the majority never really is the type to contact SDS and whine to them to change this or that.

I like it the current way. This way I can automatically load up my lineup from the start and make good progress. If the program was like the POTM programs in prior years where they trickle feed you the cards then I would probably give up.

I hate the model where SDS gives us one card and then we have to play games with him to get the second card and then we have to play games with him to get the third card. It's tedious and boring. It's why people would buy the POTM cards to get through those types of programs quicker.

I liked the old way. It was fun. I got to learn players I really never thought about. Then when I see them in real life, it was cool to know something about how they played etc...

reboot the console and it should fix it.

op - can you make a video and show us what you're seeing? my game on xbox one is at least playable for me. it only drops during cutscenes and foul balls at times.

I got like 3 Tim Anderson's. Hope he goes diamond soon.

You are playing on a last-generation console, and this game was designed primarily for next-gen consoles.

Funny how they didn’t come out and say “this game was designed primarily for next gen consoles.. you might see frame rate issues” like next gen always meant better graphics but I don’t remember going from 360 to Xbox one and seeing frame rate issues like this.. also how come nba2k and fifa 21 are smooth? How come they couldn’t just use the ps4 mlb 20 version?

Thought they did say that a while back, that MLB 21 was the MLBTS for the next generation. I know they made clear that next-gen versions of the game had the stadium creator and that previous generation consoles did not.

Not having certain features is one thing but I’ve never seen frame rate issues this bad on any other game that was “designed for next gen”

mine has improved i think from day one. or maybe im just use to it. but i did change a few settings on my tv and it's at least playable.

the franchise menus should work fine. the dd menus though in your manage squad suck with lag.

I wish I bought the game pass... $90 wasted on a game that runs worse than mlb the show 11

check your system. i had the same issues at launch but now it plays much better. I had the PS4 version last year too and it's almost as same as that. the only parts that dip w/ severe lag is cut scenes and if the ball is hit into foul play.

if you are doing well w/ analog stick with it. i dont understand why everyone has to use 'zone' or is pressured to.

if you go to the logo vault, you see some [censored] spammed the entire vault with a logo of women's boobs. it's pretty stupid.

as for racism/sexism online - that's not just limited to the show. you get it for most games and much more in other games.

i picked bumgarner. much easier

if someone likes analog hitting then great! I don't understand why all the 'zone snobs' have to get on everyone who prefers analog or directional. I use to be a zone snob too but switched out of zone last year.

Has it been improved this year? I'm thinking of about turning it on because in showdown i've screwed up beating the boss a few times now because of bad button entries.

How is the AI like? I thought last year they had it pretty good until they patched it and changed it to the old way (or maybe im thinking about 19).

Directional is ideal for moments, conquest and offline missions and is all RNG based. You typically need zone hitting when playing online because it's better to have more control over your swing and pitches are harder to connect with when corners are dotted.

But what everyone is saying about Zone hitting this year is it completely RNG. So not much of a difference than from Directional.

Unless a patch fixed the Zone RNG

Ya i got them all! it was so fun and quite easy. Was it this easy in previous years? I really enjoyed it as it wasn't much of a grind and I used the players I kept getting in conquest to get to the next player and levels. Now I went from a team of bronze/silvers to diamonds!

Last year was easy, it was the first year they did it this way. 19's was terrible, because you had to collect all the Topps Now cards (and you didn't get to choose they were random), and all the Monthly cards were in Monthly packs.

In 17 and 18, they had Monthly packs and you had to collect all the players and complete missions. And the packs cost I want to say 30k, along with there being a limit of 2. 18's did get a lot easier at the end, when they put a random Monthly pack in the store after the season for only 15k, and there was no limit on how many you could buy. I wound up doing them all thanks to that, and the POTM Yelich was the only Monthly program that cost over 100k near the end of the cycle. And that was thanks to it being Yelich, and you having to collecting Monthly Trevor Story who people loved, and a good Monthly Walker Buehler. The only other one that came close was the one that required you to collect Monthly Hader, because that Hader was bananas.

maybe i'll load up 20 and have a look. i think this years menus are much more user friendly to help understand what needs to be done for these programs and sub programs.

i made the switch last year to directional and havent looked back.

I've played the show since the ps2 days and before that the high heat series which used 'zone hitting'.

But I've gotten old and my skills are not what they were so I went with directional (MVP Baseball hitting basically). I enjoy it as i find it's a bit more casual for me and I can sit back and enjoy the game.

I use to be a zone hitting snob too like most people who are pro-zone are. I still think zone is the most realistic hitting option but it's a videogame, i want to have fun, so i am good w/ directional.

I play 99.9 percent offline nowadays so can't really comment about zone/direction for online play.

I just find directional more relaxing to play.

The worst this year is R2 holders if you use PPP. Have given up 5-6 dingers already because of that: the guy holds R2, then release and press R2 again as you wind up; floater and bang. They said in the stream yesterday they were addressing an issue relating to R2 online, hope this is it. You shouldn’t be able to use it twice before a pitch; once released that’s it.
