    Which Collection to go after...

@go4stros25_psn said in Which Collection to go after...:

Forget collections until you finish the TA conquests. I pulled tatis and arenado is those free conquest packs. See how the pack luck goes for you before you commit to one division. Who knows maybe you pull cole or maybe you pull bellinger and betts.

Or pull 26 commons, 10 bronze and 4 silvers.

  • Pin Point Question
  • superfly2789_PSNS superfly2789_PSN

No it really is worth learning. If your truly trying to get better in online you need to be on pinpoint. There is a reason all the best players use it.

If your offline and don’t care analog or meter will be fine.

  • Pin Point Question
  • superfly2789_PSNS superfly2789_PSN

Timing and connecting the dots are the most important. Timing being the most important. If your early pitches go high.

  • Does anyone believe this true
  • superfly2789_PSNS superfly2789_PSN

If your pitcher starts getting hit around a little get him a mound visit or get him out of there ASAP.

Pitcher confidence is one of the strongest factors if the hitter is gonna have success, Just like energy.

This is very apparent at the beginning of games when pitchers start with pretty good confidence. If they throw a couple shutout inning and some strikeout, even good good swings become outs. It’s very important to score early on guys if possible, or then be patient enough at the plate to get there energy down. Breaking pitches break less the more the pitchers energy is down.

Understanding the mechanics of the game are important to getting results especially if you aren’t a PCI God.

@vvsharkyvv_xbl said in players who crush the ball almost every at bat , will not swing at one ball out of the zone.:

    does it make you wonder?

    here is there m.o.

they get 7 or 8 hits in the first 3 innings of game for ex. and go on to slaughter me like 15 to 5, get 10 hits or more by the 7th.

during the game your realizing how dam good they can hit your pitches that usually ALWAYS worked for you in all other games.

here is the weird part. during your 5 runs that you got, remembering they are using all the top players, chipper, ortiz, trout, 99 jackie etc, when you hit the ball, they had trouble fielding, throwing to wrong bases and was terribly behind on trying to throw you out on steals. not just in this game, you've seen this pattern in other games where you get drummed at the plate but they was horrific on defense(not pitching, just d when ball is put in play)) also about 1 time in every 4 or 5 games i see this.

tbh, this scenerio is what makes me believe something is fishy.....i know im not good yet but im getting there and im easily above average on pitching , my hitting sucks.

im in the 365 to 485 lvl. wth is some of these hitting gods doing on this lvl tbw?....head scratcher

I just made a secondary account to use cards that aren’t god squad material. I’m quickly climbing through low levels. I think I started 10-0 and not one game has gone more than 5 innings, via mercy or quick rage quit.

I can tell you there are plenty of good players out there who destroy all star pitching. And plenty of good players that mostly play BR and not too much ranked.

Also the lag on pitching and defense is why you’ll see catchers not even try to throw you out.

Nothing is fishy. The skill gap between good and average players is high.

  • The TA season 2 showdowns suck.
  • superfly2789_PSNS superfly2789_PSN

I’m so burnt out on showdown after the early season grind. Gonna take the approach of doing exchanges here and there and just playing. The mini missions for TA2 showdowns are longer and more involved, I’m not down for that grind.

  • Do I retire Griffey for Mays

@crispy_treat_psn said in Do I retire Griffey for Mays:

I’m running Griffey Buxton Bellinger . I’m NMS and don’t have the assets for collections . I’m sitting on 400 mark melancons. Just wondering if mays is a clear upgrade over a parallel 5 Griffey .

Mays historically has a slow swing. If you used him last year or the year before and like him then maybe. Get ready to get busted in constantly with him. Personally the lack of speed and diamond D is a dealbreaker for me in center. Do you though if you enjoy the card use him.

  • PCI Means Nothing
  • superfly2789_PSNS superfly2789_PSN

@nobuntcheese_psn said in PCI Means Nothing:

Yep i can't even make a bid for world series as im not a good hitter, When i do get a good hit its ridiculously punishing me while oppenent doesn't even get near the ball on pci and its a 3 run bomb i was winning 6-4 against a 820=+ rated guy yesterday when im 710 so would be decent points for the win but 6 run i got from 13 hits, i think i got punished on at least 6 hits when scorers were in positions

, But we made it 4-4 to extra innings , I hit a perfect flyball with maricio against his RHP for 2 run home run, We get to bottom of the 10th and i have him at outs with 1-2 count he swings in the dirt on a slider gets a weak contact with buxton who beats out my catcher throw to get 2 guys on base, Then at 3-2 count i throw a perfect fastball outside right in middle of the white line he swings middle with contact on a just early , Pci doesnt touch ball and it gives him the homerun with trout , Im at 750 rating right now but not a hope in hell i make it to 900 cause ill match a guy who smashs me all over the field using contact hitting , Or ill get 10 hits in a game and lose 4-3 to a guy who gets late hit singles with 5 hits all game and gets one lucky good homerun

This game is tough with all the RNG. It’s not a big deal when there is a big skill gap but when you get two players close in skill games can be decided by luck. Contact swing increases the luck factor quite a bit. Why it’s so contentious at the moment.

You have to consistently put in better input than your opponent and understand baseball situations and have the strategy to get you out on top, even then you still lose sometimes.

Side note there are a lot of bad players in division and champions series, even World Series that just look to exploit whatever advantage they can. It unfortunate but is what it is. Just try and play your best game and don’t focus on the BS.

@mathman5072_psn said in from fun to boring:

Have you tried playing with a non stacked team? I play with mostly golds and low sdiamojds grinding all the team affinity in rs, and I very rarely play “god squads.” You still have to play buxton and burned every game. But, not the other guys.

I actually just made a secondary account and it’s the most fun I’ve had all year on ranked. I don’t take it as seriously and use cards I would never put on my god squad.

I’m still using good card like the low diamonds that came out in TA2, and the low diamonds in the POM. Just using cards I enjoy not just the best.

Highly recommend it! Also the new Chuck Nasty is killer.

On the bright side there are a lot of trash players in division and championship series that abuse it. I find even with contact swings they are easy wins. A lot of them still have trash discipline and you can get bad contact just out of the zone.

The issue is when you run into a good player that contact swings the whole game.

Well this just turned me into an elite player because all of my swing-and-misses have turned into foul balls. I can't believe I have been missing this.

I am 3-0 in the event and 2-0 in ranked seasons since making the switch to circle swing(contact)

You’ve won all of 5 games and now your elite?

The better fix would be to hit the balls against the shift and stop swinging for the fences at all cost; then we might get something resembling baseball back

The shift needs to be banned. You should be required to have two infielders on either side of second base. The fact that we arbitrarily run to first base and not third base out of the box is inherently unfair to lefties that first base is on their pull side. And when they shift lefties, they pitch them to hit into the shift. They are serving them cookies on the outside third to flip into left field. You try taking an inside cutter on your fists to the opposite field.

Yes this is an easy fix. Also maybe dudes should shorten up their swings a bit.

As Gallo was choked up to the label tonight, the problem is everyone throwing 97 mph fastballs that break 10 inches the mound needs to be moved back at this point
Kluber definitely ain’t throwing no 97.... 87 yes. His stuff is still gross and I’m sure spin rates are ridiculously high.
