Got the same thing on the first try. Just did an iOS update on my phone, logged back in on the app, retook scan with game open and got a notice in-game on the face scan screen that my scan has been uploaded and I was queued. Then a message about a minute later that it was ready, a quick press of the refresh button on the controller and the image is there.

I may need to retake with better lighting and I seem to have a habit of tilting my head. But I think the game does a fantastic job making me look more attractive that I think I look sometimes.

Also, I have a wizard-like beard and it somehow the app removed a good amount of it, where I think with a better photo and the in-game facial hair that is more neat than mine is would make for a decent ballplayer.

If a team were to start a game with the DH but elect to move that player in the DH to a field position later in the game, that team would then forfeit the DH and any pitchers in the lineup would need to bat or be pinch hit for. In addition if the DH is moved to pitcher, then that pitcher and any other pitcher used must bat or be pinch hit for.

This happened to me a day or two ago. In a March to October or Franchise game I screwed up and pinch hit or ran for my catcher. The player who pinch hit was not a catcher, and the only other catcher on my team was the current DH. I moved him to Catcher and forfeit the DH spot.

Thing with this, the submitted lineup had the DH, and it was lost "in game" due to "managerial choices".

Unless someone makes a "custom" league with no DH rule in it (which, IIRC, RTTS doesn't support) then there should no longer be a situation in which a lineup without a DH should ever be submitted pre-game, whether or not the DH position can be lost during the game due to "managerial decisions"

If understand you correctly, and speaking more in terms of real baseball, but also in The show (as they typically try to mirror the actual rules as much as possible) are you thinking the the DH being universal means it's mandatory? Because that's not true. If you didn't know the DH has never been mandatory.

Rule 5.11 a3: It is not mandatory that a Club designate a hitter for the pitcher, but failure to do so prior to the game precludes the use of a Designated Hitter for that Club for that game.

The rule is from the 2022 MLB rulebook, and in my research I couldn't find anything that now makes the DH mandatory.

My only "defense" to this would be the infamous There's mandatory, then there's "mandatory".

The second one is the lovely "yes, there's an option, but because taking said option is going to be detrimental, you're "never" expected to take it.

Besides Ohtani related cases, how many times has an AL team "willingly" forgone the DH ('had to' back int the days when the NL didn't have DHs and played in NL parks) since they got the DH? The answer to this (takes deep research and is pretty much zero if my guess/hunch is right) helps "reinforce" the "illusionary mandatory"-ness of the DH being "necessary"

Oh yeah, I'd say its still a competitive disadvantage if one team elects to not use the DH now at the start of the game (I guess unless Ohtani is starting on the mound). I don't know if the crew chief would encourage a team to use a DH player per the commissioner, but he might double check to make sure the manager wanted to play without the DH.

Just was trying to clarify why the no DH option was still in the show 23 lineups. In my game, it was offline DD but I just wasn't paying attention and had to forfeit the dh position - didn't really want to.

I am just guessing that it is not an easy fix or that there are some issues with apple.

Just being an iPhone user and knowing how strict Apple is with privacy, any time you bring in photo access to an app, I'm sure whatever review processes are get more strict. I would not be surprised if they had to separate 23 into its own app. Hopefully not but that would explain the delay.

I've not tried to build an app, but I've read online and had some people I know that do build apps tell me that the review process can be as little as 24 hours or as long as 2 weeks or more.

If I had to guess though, it's more likely that the face scan feature isn't working properly and they want to fix that, as some android users said they have the updated app but can't use face scan. I'm sure they'd be working to fix that and then send the updates to both andriod and iOS users.

Do you have the Player Lock setting set to button accuracy or just defense settings? If so, make sure to adjust the Player lock settings to button accuracy as well, or it may still register the showtime target.

I don't think so. I think they said in the face scan feature video that it was anywhere for your central ballplayer. Now I've heard your CBP sometimes showed up in your franchise as a free agent in previous versions the show, but I don't know if it will in 23.

Maybe once they get the face scan feature working/released, they may add it to other modes like franchise, that would be cool.

Yes you can but you’ll need to upload your logo into the vault on 22.

If you don’t know how to do that, go into 22, go to the logo vault and click start, select upload and pick the save file of you custom logo. Give it a few seconds and it will upload.

If you have different logos for the main, cap, home and road jerseys, you’ll need to make save files for each of them in 22, then upload the the same as above.

Once your done, boot up 23, go into the logo vault, select start and pick ‘my vault’ and the download your logos and save them.

I was under the impression it wasn't releasing until the actual launch Tuesday 28/ Monday 27th at 9pm, but I've had some friends who have android say the app is updated and already released and the face scan feature is useable. I sent a ticket to support to let them know that iOS/iPhone users app is not updated. Maybe Apple forgot to press a button or something, or google released it early.
