    Changes needed in franchise
  • Spetz10_PSNS Spetz10_PSN

First off, I love this game. I have for over ten years now. That being said, there is a dire need for changes to be made, mainly to franchise. Whatever they use for the non-user team logic is trash. Trade logic, trash, free agency trash and this new free agency/contract thing they are trying to do makes it even worse. They got rid of some of the most included things in all free agency/extension contracts. OPTION YEARS. What they should have done instead is to create opt out years when signing longer contracts, add no trade clauses, or even performance-based incentives. Also, why doesn't the AI logic tell teams that say don't have a 1st baseman rated above a 60 in their organization not, pick up a 29-year-old 70-79 overall, B potential 1st baseman that is only asking for 4 million. that's just one example. Every season there are 15-30 players that should be on teams that never get picked up.

Second, scouting needs depth. allow players to scout by state, hire more scouts and give US based players stats that you can track. Also get rid of international players in the draft. In the real world there is a totally different system. There are international signing periods, and those players can be signed at 16. Japanese players differ widely in age when they decide to come to the States. Make that the same. I don't believe this is a major ask. Running any professional sports organization has a million parts, and the show has simplified it into about 10. Get rid of SP/RP. So many times, I find an amazing 'SP' that turns out to have a stamina rating of 50! if you want to keep that system then fine at least allow us to train an improve a pitcher's stamina. you took it away years ago and I'm not sure why.

Lastly, the training system hasn't changed since it was implemented. ITS TIME. It doesn't need to be changed a ton just add more to it. Allow for players to be trained solely on improving power vs right or arm accuracy or plate discipline. Allow the coaches hired to give bonuses to specific training. Coaches like Ron Washington are amazing at improving players fielding ability but in game he may help with bunting. Add bench coaches, bullpen coaches, and let the coaches improve or degrade just like players. Give them personality to create a team culture. Please give us the option to train pitchers on developing a new pitch. Veteran pitchers train younger pitchers on how to throw new pitches all the time.

Another thing they could use is a revamp to the training, player development, drafting and pitcher use in games. The training hasn't changed in years except to take away the ability to increase pitcher stamina and position player speed.

With player development, why am i not able to train a position player on a new position?! happens all the time. Also, why can't pitchers learn new pitches. I mean how many pitchers use the same three or four pitches their entire career and how many pitchers learn that one new pitch and it changes their career entirely. There should also be a player development program. Just look at the dodgers, they have the best player development program in the entire league. how many other teams can keep bringing guys up year after year like they have been.

That brings me to drafting. Why is there no international signing period. that is a major part of how certain teams find a get talent on a consistent basis. and there need to be more scouts with year-round scouting. You could have your 4 main scouts: East, West, Central, and international. But put in regional scouts as well so that they can be sent to find players in every state. Put in hidden gems and possible busts and hide true potential for up to a year.

Lastly, I would like to see a more in-depth utilization of the manager. and by this, I mean real life use of relief pitchers. I have seen the cpu teams bring in the same 3-4 relievers in a 4-game set so many times and it didn't matter what the score was. I have had setup pitchers throw a total of 10 innings in an entire season while simming and they were guys like Hader or Clase and moving them around didn't seem to do anything. NBA 2k has a system that allows you to create rules like if your team is up by 20 then you can put in all subs so a starter doesn't get injured. Something to that effect that says, if this guy pitched two days in a row he doesn't pitch a third, or have it so you can designate a setup man to the 7th and one for the 8th. Seasonal fatigue needs to be a thing as well.

would love to hear some feedbak and what you guys think

  • Trade Logic is Comically Broken

What would be nice to see is to add a ranking system for players that are most valuable to each franchise. they could at the very least add an untouchable list to the trading block. I count how many times I was asked to trade away potential superstars for nothing.
