I’ve really been trying to get every card, but as of now I’m still about 40 cards short. I don’t care about online so I plan to keep playing until the last offline content is dropped, and hopefully I’ll have them all by then. If not, I’ll just sell off everything that isn’t locked in and see what kind of super team I can build with the profits before I move on for the year.

Echoing that back to back HOF is a bit much and like another poster here it’s not because I can’t hit (25-4 last event and 19-3 so far) but it’s not as much fun as I was looking forward just relaxed-mashing with my Awards cards and instead I’m just pitching a lot with Grove….

Either you misunderstood my post or you’re just an A hole. But judging by your post history on this forum, I’m betting on A hole. I was just impressed seeing a 10x flawless nameplate, as it’s the first I had seen, even tho it came untimely in the midst of a 7-0 run. Just wanting to share with the community. I feel you, man. It's weird that we haven't gotten a 99 Willie Mays or Buster Posey. Heck, we haven't even seen the best Willie McCovey yet. I mean, McCovey is kind of whatever now that we've got so many amazing five-tool legends but Mays and Posey better be coming pretty soon.

Oh, and hopefully someday SDS will get off their lazy keisters and get Tim Lincecum in The Show -- where he rightfully belongs.

... and I still haven't forgiven them for taking Sergio Romo's beard from his diamond Flashback, too. As far as Giants fans are concerned, I feel like SDS owes them.

I bet we get Extreme tomorrow with the 7th inning program... or sometime in it.

That's crazy bad pack luck. He was so commonly pulled last year, his price dropped below 50K. I pulled him 9 or 10 times, most my friends got him at least 5 times.

I just completed the Michael Conforto HR mission in BR for the second time. Oh wait, no I didn’t because my opponent decided to dashboard before the ball cleared the fence. Got him in my lineup last night…first game I had homers before and after him. Feel with the free entry the player pool is watered down in early games so I’m concerned I’ll run into this same issue tonight when I jump back in.

I finally played a game on HOF. Struck out 25 times in a nine inning game. And I WON. I'm afraid to try again now that I'm in the 700s and guaranteed to play on HOF again lol I've never really been able to hit in this game, but I'm usually good enough to play at least a few on HOF and it's just nuts this year.

Congrats man! I pulled him from the same pack... I couldn't believe it when I saw those teal lights. I've played a lot of years and this is my first time pulling him also. I already had him so I immediately sold him for 550k though.

The shift needs to be banned. You should be required to have two infielders on either side of second base. The fact that we arbitrarily run to first base and not third base out of the box is inherently unfair to lefties that first base is on their pull side. And when they shift lefties, they pitch them to hit into the shift. They aren’t serving them cookies on the outside third to flip into left field. You try taking an inside cutter on your fists to the opposite field.

I get the sentiment, but I don’t want gimmicky rules like basketball like no zone D or 3 in the paint and such. It would be like hockey saying to help offense, no more than 3 skaters in the Dzone at any time. As hard as pitchers throw this year, you just have to present bat to ball to get exit velo. Also guys crowd the plate more to try and get more lift on their swings. We’ll see; maybe the next “genius” young coach/front office will begin adjusting and start another pendulum swing.

As for contracts, it’s pretty much a slim percentage that gets the most money, the ones who can do more than hit HRs but also field and/or run. The middle class of 25-30 HRs and 180-200 strikeouts lumbering 1B and early 30’s players are left in the cold in FA classes in recent years. Look at Tatis, Machado, Lindor, Trout, Mookie... all multidimensional players.

I would argue that the shift itself is way more gimmicky than a rule that would prevent it.

I think that is ridiculous. I've said it many times on here now, fielders have always positioned themselves for the best opportunities at getting outs. Outfielders have shifted to one side since the game has been played, for hitters that have a pull tendency. They play deeper or more shallow based on hitters tendencies or situation as well.

It's a valid strategy, and perfectly logical, to put fielders in positions that the defense expects the ball to be hit into. Ask Wade Boggs, Tony Gwynn, Rod Carew, etc. how they hit to open field. You can still go the other way on inside heat, with an inside out swing. Hitters have done it since baseball was invented.

This isnt like lowering the mound, or moving fences in or out. This is completely rewriting the rulebook, mandating defensive alignment, because hitters hit the ball to the fielders too often? That's the whole point of defending.

Of course defenses have been shifting since the the beginning of baseball, but “over shifting” lefties has only became a big deal in the past decade. Insisting that hitters should all learn to inside out fastballs because these 3 Hall of Famers could do it is pretty naive. Can it be done? Yes. Is it extremely difficult? Yes. Has average fastball velocity increased about 5 mph since those 3 played? Yes. We’re not asking a complete rewriting of the rule book. New rules are added every single year. And you would still be able to shift your players, just not overload one side of the infield on lefties. If would be fair and equal for every team and hitter in baseball. But if you wanna continue to see lefties hit 100 mph line outs to a dude standing in shallow right field, be my guest.

Ted Williams had the shift used against him back in the 40's. It isnt a new thing. He bunted against it and went the other way to combat it at times.

Once again, we acknowledge that shifts have been used throughout the history of baseball, but the overshift on lefties hasn’t really ran rampant until the last decade. The majority of lefties face it every at bat.

Put in Wainwright for Street. That fastball from Street is not good.

That’s what I was thinking. Haven’t been a huge fan of his card, but hey, he was free after all.

And a card that is useful for that collection that comes out in the summer.
