Has anyone else noticed that some cards from inventory can’t be placed on a team? I first noticed it with a WBC Ronald Acuna Jr that I purchased off the Marketplace. I don’t even know where these cards can be earned. I think it’s a level 90. Doesn’t show up as an option when trying to put it on any team (was adding to my Braves TT until I get the Charisma card). Anybody else come across this? Have they mentioned this as a big or am I just missing something about cards like this?

I’ve noticed some cards don’t show up when I try to put them on a team. First noticed it with a WBC Ronald Acuna Jr. I purchased the card off the Marketplace but it doesn’t show up as an option when building a team. Wanted him on my Braves TT until I get the Charisma version. I don’t have it in front of me, but I think it’s the 90 WBC card in the Venezuela jersey. I don’t even know what those cards came from; I got it off Marketplace. Has anyone else noticed this or have they mentioned anything? Am I missing something about these particular cards?
Edit : I posted twice I guess. This post originally was stuck in a loop and wasn’t showing up so I posted again. Sorry for the redundancy.

How about tweaking the CPU outfielders down a notch? Even with 90+ runners it’s really hard to get triples and score from second on deep singles. Not to mention the superhuman catches, even in Rookie.

At least make Roster Updates make sense. SDS just keeps striking out this year.

Very Overrated defensively, but a great clutch player and great captain. If you look at highlight films of his defense, you’d think he was fantastic all the way around. I watched enough daily Yankee games to know that it just isn’t so. He was average defensively. Belongs in the HOF certainly. Not a fan of his post-playing days. (Frankly not a fan of Mattingly now either)

Giving us unsellable versions of cards we’ve already potentially locked in during the program is so stupid. They are slowly but surely heading towards being like 2K. That’s pretty sad. It’s always been the biggest selling point of the game that they aren’t like that. Nothing you earn in the monthly or extra programs is worth anything this year. I’m not only moving more and more towards not spending money on this game any more; I’m moving towards not buying it at all. Even the lower level CPU games aren’t fun because of how bad hitting is this year. Baserunning has never been fixed either (they keep running out the same unfixed code for that). Overall just a disappointing game this year.

Every year I’ve noticed that once I have all diamonds in my lineup or have completed collections, the Diamond odds seem to plummet. Packs are kinda juiced the first day or so. Odds this year are approaching 2K silliness though.

Commentary inaccurate and boring and repetitive, hitting, baserunning is slow, stupid baserunning IQ at second again, superhuman fielding and throwing by even rookie CPU outfield, dumbing down of the monthly XP programs, couple other things. I love the game but it’s time to make some more effort to make the game better beyond just copy and pasting it year to year. I gave them a pass last year because of the pandemic. That’s not an excuse this year. It’s a disappointing start; maybe it will get better. I’ve always considered MLB to be the best bang for your buck sports game, but it appears that they are taking some of that away this year. It’s not a good look for SDS.

McCutchen is a very underrated card. I think he’s easily in the top 4 of cover players.

I’ve completed the whole collection, but I’m not very excited about most of the rewards. Love Clemente and Randy Johnson. Kirk Gibson and Utley are really good too. I always try to finish the collections early in year when people are still pulling boxes. Prices go up for awhile middle of the year when fewer of each card are being put up.

Hitting is bad this year so far. You know they have the sliders turned down when you hit a ball hard enough for the commentary to be triggered to make comments like it’s a homerun, only to have the ball die before the warning track. I’m close to going back to playing other games (Elden Ring etc). I’m just playing CPU games and even that hitting is poor. It’s not fun to play a rookie game and struggle to hit homers. They get in their minds that the stats should mimic real baseball. That’s just not fun in a video game. I’d rather have a arcade feel in cpu games. This is especially true considering how unrewarding the game appears to be this year. I’ve almost completed all collections already, but I wish I could go back in time and save my money. I have a feeling they won’t be fixing hitting anytime soon. After all these years they still haven’t even fixed the cruddy baserunning IQ of the runners around second base either. They also need to tone down the cpu defense, especially in the outfield. I’ve never had so many runners thrown out trying to score from second or go first to third in all the years I’ve played. Same goes for basestealing against average catchers.

It’s all about the double XP the last 10 (or so) days of the programs. When that happens you’re getting 8-10k per game against the CPU. Hitting is kinda poor this year so far so XP may end up being less than that until they give us something other than noodle bats.
