As a consumer, there's almost a certain amount of expectancy when you purchase a product. You want that product to work, you want that product to be advantageable, and you want that product to be durable with longevity. That being said, I've been waiting for this game to show me anything or any sign of good. I feel that I wasted $70 on a product that wasn't yet finished and quite frankly is almost unplayable. No matter what I do, my stats constantly go up down all around never where they're supposed to be, my equipment and appearance never ever stays the same like it's supposed to, and the amount of frustration that I've gone through with this game in my opinion wasn't worth the $70 when all I do is get angry. I've waited for years for the show to come out on Xbox and it finally does and this is what I'm left with disappointment and utter dismay?! I mean don't get me wrong it is fun, but the constant going back and forth fixing everything after every single game and sometimes it doesn't even fix I have to shut down the whole Xbox, is not enjoyable. A game, especially baseball, it's supposed to be enjoyable and fun and you're supposed to have a good time with it. I'm sorry the show, but I have yet to have fun with your product or even find it enjoyable in any means. Is there any chance I can get a refund or compensation or something!? Cuz right now it feels like I've been [censored] ripped off and I'm pissed.

Zach, This is exactly how being a fan of this franchise feels. Constant bug and performance issues, SDS constantly tinkering with the games mechanics during the year to try and tweak difficulty but instead creates more bugs, That constant feeling that your being punished for the way you like to play. The complete lack of any communication from SDS instead choosing to give their player base free in game cards and packs. The overly complicated menus.

And at the end of day thanks to a massive lack of competition, It's still the best baseball game out there by a mile.

So in 2022 you will pre order next years game.

Some of the 42 cards are not earned in team affinities. There are only 30 MLB teams with each team having 1 42 card. Some cards can be bought and sold. Some are earned from collections and events. You can press the triangle button on a card and switch to the locations tab to see where a card can be earned.

Are you saying this is a bug? If so, the only advice I could give is to burn the duplicate card in an exchange. For example, If you have a duplicate 42 Brewers card, go to the team affinity programs and go to exchanges and find one where you can exchange Brewer players. Even if you don't get enough points to complete the exchange you will still get rid of the duplicate.

Yeah in most modes. There are options in the settings for most modes. Make sure you are checking the advanced options as I think they are in there.

So I was playing RTTS and the opposing team decided to walk my ballplayer. In the middle of the manager animation for the intentional walk call, the game pauses, the screen goes gray but I can still see the paused animation in the background, and the first few notes of Beethoven's 5th Symphony plays. There was no pause screen interface showing the score or options either. After a couple minutes with nothing else happening I hit the circle button and the game went back to normal like I unpaused it.

I would crank the difficulty real low and giggle at how funny it was watching guys strike out to knuckleballs. I would usually play first base as my main save. Sometimes I just wanted to relax without much challenge and this was a fun way to pitch.

Yeah I'm bummed about this too. I would always make a knuckleball pitcher for fun in all the past games.

Yeah unfortunately that is how this games career mode works. There are two ways to somewhat mitigate this however. First, go to sliders and turn trades all the way down. This will usually lock the roster for every team (trading wise). The downside being this takes a little realism away from the game since no rosters really ever change. The second way is to turn off auto saves and manually save every few games. You have to keep an close eye on your roster but if the game makes a trade you don't like, You can undo it by losing a little in game exp. (points towards programs don't disappear) and just reload your last save. Downsides being it's time consuming and if you forget to save for a stretch you might lose a bit progress.

Unless your team just failed to resign players like the above poster mentioned. That's pretty much down to luck.

If I read everything right which I might not have, it allows the user to create scripts that can be activated though a keyboard and so in my mind could easily affect swing timing. I think that was this posts author's original point.

From the best I can tell it's a cheat device like the old school Game Genie or Game Shark that can't be detected because the gaming consoles thinks its a controller.

If you were pitching a no hitter the game gives you a very long leash. Your pitcher either has to have no energy (or exhausted) for multiple innings or get injured. Depending on what mode you were playing, even being exhausted might not be enough to get pulled.

Yeah I noticed this too but I assume they will patch it eventually.

In real life small ball is dead. Bunting vary rarely happens unless the pitcher is trying to sacrifice the runner over. Seems like now, even more than ever, the pitchers are swinging instead of butting though.

This is what I thought was true as well but when the game tried to bunt for a hit on me for the third time in one game with the bases loaded I thought to myself, Maybe I don't know how baseball is played anymore.

I mean I know it happens and it can work if you catch the defense unawares but how often does it happen in real life? I'm playing RTTS at first base and I swear it feels like teams try this 2-5 times every game. But I don't really watch baseball so maybe this is more accurate then I'm giving it credit for?

I'm starting to like the new system. It gives RTTS a kinda RPG feel with the perks and Archetypes standing in for armor or weapons. I like that they are trying new things because lets be honest, In the old system once you got your stats into the 90's, the grind for last 9 levels compared to the amount of in game difference those points made was pretty brutal. 2021's RTTS definitely still has some problems that need to be addressed but I'm not so infuriated with it that I'm ready to just give up on this years edition. However, SDS are total jerks for punishing PS4 players by locking away features from them. If I give up on this studio it will be because of that.

YES! this is so annoying.

Now that I've had some time with 21 I actually really like the changes. They need more of a gap then levels 30 - 50 for in game stat gains in my opinion but I do kinda like the card system. If nothing else it's different then any other sports game leveling system (that I've played). I do hate how when pitching, my Ballplayer loses his ability to hit. I also hate SDS desire to do a two way player career mode but won't quit it with their fatigue system. This is a real pain in the [censored] for players wanting to to play for NL teams as you have to take 1 in 5 days off which makes it very hard to get enough bats to be a league leader or qualify for awards which I know is all meaningless but this is suppost to be a career made. And most of all I hate how PS4 owners are being punished for not wanting to fork over $1200 to scalpers for a PS5 by hiding features from us. I know everyone like to praise SDS for how great they are but this is a scumbag move that would make EA proud. Besides that though, I like the changes.

Maybe if all ask real nice, SDS will give us give a straight 24 hour run with no server issues.
