We’ve been through this YEARS ago, and they at least listened and removed it from competitive play, and for good reason. Hitting iS hard, it’s part of the fun of baseball. Too much contact on balls having no business being even hit, batting averages are ridiculous. Bring skill and an even playing field back. You won’t, rather lose hardcore simulation fans who WANT the challenge of baseballl, to the droves of 12 year olds hitting mom and dad up for more stubs for the next diamond player.
In a game of competition you cannot have one person literally holding a beer in one hand and just holding one finger on the X button making easy contact, hitting hr’s while other people are using zone and having to PLACE the PCI AND Time.
Timing only offline? Have at it, enjoy. Online? It ruins the game and isn’t fun at all. Done already this year, it’s the only game I really love and buy faithfully every year being a baseball junkie but I’m done. I’m American and all for capitalism and free market, but there has to be some balance of quality.
Um I don't understand your rant. Did you lose to a timing only player? How can you tell? As far I know, timing hitting has been available only in MLB 21 and 22. You still have to avoid swing at bad balls. It's actually HARDER to hit with timing vs others in DD then vs CPU.
So... I don't understand why you are complaining. There is no chance a timing only hitter can win World Series in Ranked DD or BR over a good PCI hitter. As you win the difficulty ramps up.So I am confused by your post 🤔🤔🤔
Sorry man, agree to disagree. I’ve been playing this series since before it was called the show or made by SDS. “MLB” by Sony’s 989 sports. Im confident in what I’m talking about. “Timing” wasn’t an option for online play in 21. In fact, this was debated and dragged out years ago and SDS finally listened to the community and got rid of it as an option for online play. Why is it back?
Wth I played MLB the Show 21. You're lying. I played exclusively timing on DD ranked, casual and non DD Ranked.
No sir. I’m looking at the 21 hitting settings as we speak. I can toggle zone, directional, pure analog. No timing option whatsoever. So either you are ignorant or you are lying. Come with facts or not at all.
Directional without moving the stick is the exact same as timing. It’s been that way since directional was introduced and the separate timing option was removed. For some reason, most likely the addition of a bunch of new Switch players, they made it a separate option this year.
Agree 100%. It was always known that SDS tried to “hide” dumb down mode by calling it something else and adding yellow arrows, which as you’ve aptly stated, never even needed to use at all. Even still, bare minimum, they at least TRIED to pretend they care. But this year (again I agree with you mostly in part because of adding switch) they outright just left timing period. Either way my opinion is what it is. It has zero place in competitive play.
