Enough with the Mandatory Mini Seasons
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

Obviously they are not mandatory, I am completely aware of the fact this is a video game and I’m not forced to play it. I just don’t understand why they are pushing this mode so much that is hours and hours of mindless playing cpu at fields with ridiculous batters eyes. They have data that shows people are playing a lot of mini seasons but I’m sceptical that is entirely organic since they put these exclusive cards in this mode and make it so it literally takes 7 hours of playing time to complete. Showdowns only take 30 mins to complete and then it’s over with no reason to play again. I’d play showdowns all day if they put these exclusive mini seasons cards in showdown too so we have a choice. I’m just saying why are we being forced to play 15 + mini seasons games to get a Jonathan Aranda card so we can get the Jose Ramirez card that we really want in collections.

I guess I’m an outlier in this, I just really think mini seasons is boring, the only challenge is trying to pick up the ball on the BS batters eyes in these stadiums. I like playing online and DQ or showdown let us play how we want SDS.

I know showdown and DQ are the modes that most people complain about on here but having to do a mini season every month now to complete collections is what gets to me. Mini seasons is absolutely the most boring mode in my opinion, I don’t want to spend my playing time playing 3 inning games during the day at fields that have terrible batters eyes.. it’s tedious and repetitive and now every time a card set is released there are several cards no sell cards you must obtain only by playing this mode.

On top of that the henchman cards are straight garbage. Why are we being forced to use Edwin Diaz until we get 15 k and then having to do some other random task with Jonathan Aranda that requires you to use his trash card for several games.

There are 2 solutions to make this better SDS

    1. The most obvious and ideal is to make these cards sellable. That way we can just pay quick sale price for our collection fodder like we do with all the base round guys in packs
    2. If 1 is not a possibility at least let us choose the month and time of day for road games, we didn’t choose to have a pyramid or a whale tail statue as a batters eye so the least you can do is give us some more contrast so we can pick up the ball easier.

  • Teddy Ballgame!

    @SakAttack87_PSN said in Teddy Ballgame!:

Curious to see how crazy the market gets.

If it was someone underwhelming (maybe a 99 Joe Morgan and no offense to Joe) then it would be a good time to buy as people would be selling off. However, Ted being the featured new Legend who hasn't been in the game in years with that swing is going to have people spending stubs and swiping their credit cards.

Can only imagine how many cards you're going to need for this collection, but the only guarantee is that it won't be cheap.

I’m relieved it’s Teddy ballgame, I’m sure it will be a nice card but I’m not going to stress about getting him super fast or anything there plenty of outfielders I can hit with and I prefer speed and defense in the outfield for online games

  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

I’m guessing we are going to see re issued prospect and future stars cards from years prior. Probably heavily focused on Yankees, and dudes that never made it but still had cracked cards. I think the Clint Frazier flashback from 2019 is a lock here and a I’m calling 94 overall Jarred Kelenic as a collection reward

  • Moonshot program the worst in years
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

This game is way better than when they gave every card to everybody that played the game for 3 seconds.im ok with the grind, im ok with good cards being hard to get and im ok with SDS trying to make money as a business. Why would they cater to whiny dudes on thier forum that dont spend money and dont do anything but complain. Why would a for profit business spend thier time giving out free stuff to guys that will just come on here and talk about how the game is nerfed because they had to play the Rockies on rookie twice this year to complete the program instead of one conquest game like 2022

The game is not nerfed if you can’t hit but all your opponents;, think about it we are all playing the same game!

  • Rough for NMS people
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

To be fair I think they have done a beautiful job of making NMS easy for the games loyal regulars and making it appear difficult to the less seasoned players. Sure they have collections that would cost a lot of stubs to complete immediately but they FLOOD the market with free packs to the point where you can buy most of these cards for quick sale a few weeks later. Also having the best cards in the game is a way smaller advantage than it is in other sports video games. When I fire up a ranked game and see a P5 Trea Turner 85 and a P5 Yordan Alvarez 86 in the opponents line up I already know that im gonna get
Lit up because that guy gets it.

if your playing the CPU Rockies on rookie over and over your simply not the target of SDS’s marketing. Think about it, they are not having board meetings at SDS saying hey let’s hold off on doing what makes us cash and let’s take time to make sure all the dudes that won’t spend a cent or even consider playing anything but the cpu on rookie at max elevation get the best cards right away

Also if your not playing online why does it matter how fast your able to get cards relative to other players anyways ?

  • Pitcher Power Creep
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

If you’re getting past World Series how much can you possibly be actually struggling to hit these guys? I think you end up facing the same guys at higher levels because this game is so offense centric there’s only ever 1-3 viable pitchers at any one time. Unless a pitcher has a sinker, outlier, speed differentials, AND a high H/9 you can’t get anyone out unless they chase out of the zone. And guys at higher levels don’t get there because they chase out of the zone.

I almost feel like H/9 should help pitchers more. I’d love to see this game figure out a way to make control pitchers more usable. If more pitchers were usable then there would be plenty of variety

    Positive -

TA grind being so long is a huge positive for me as well as being team specific. All good things as far as TA goes.

The amount of programs in general and how they all take more than 20 mins to complete.

The live series collection having relevance again

    Bads-
No BR specific program anymore. I love playing br but I’m only making it to 6 wins on a good run. I’d always be challenged to hit the 4000 xp mission and I liked how that mission made me pay attention to each at bat, now there to reason for me to play BR

No event rewards. This one is puzzling to me how that was even thought of as an option, there’s literally no point of playing events.

The online program was an ok thought but it seems to have whiffed on achieve the intended purpose of being” play your way “ if they bring back rewards for event wins this wouldn’t be a bad idea

  • Zone HItting Tips?
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

Personally I wouldnt start the PCI anywhere but down the middle. Also practice patience it’s a huge thing with zone hitting since it’s easy to flail at everything and make soft contact . I also try to pick up on patterns my opponent has, and when it’s a lefty lefty match I’ll sit on a first pitch fastball up and in, for some reason that’s an extremely popular pitch selection

  • Not getting xp

Yes uninstall and reinstall. This happens if you play home run derby in franchise the past few years, I’m assuming that bug is part of the copy paste again this year

  • Current Market
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

Aside from the past 2 years when live series collections had zero value ;This happens every year after launch, there is more supply from people opening packs but at this stage there are very few people selling live series cards. As people start finishing collections the prices will go down because there will be more supply being sold.

I don’t know how you play and listen the audio of this game even if they say things in appropriate scenarios it’s still repetitive. do yourself a favor and listen to some music, or a podcast or even watch some tv on your phone in the background.

SDS is doing us a favor that swing is cheeks

  • Corey Seager Event Card
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

Corey Seager has the best swing in the game in my opinion, his WS MVP cards are pretty much the definition of an end game card it’s worth whatever you have to do to get it or buy it at this point of the year

  • old headliners cards
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

Usually they do end up bundling old packs in the store and spamming the bundles as rewards. S4 would be the most obvious ideal opportunity for that

  • Offline usage of players
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

Offline I’d yank him after 2 games. Theres hundreds of cards, I don’t have time to waste trying to figure out how to hit with some guy when it’s already hard to pick from the 7 other guys I can already mash with at that position. Plus I’ve been playing DD for years and it’s the same
    Cards different art every year

  • 3rd party Option
  • Redd666ish_PSNR Redd666ish_PSN

This probably isn’t the best place to ask this question. Even if you got a good answer you have now tipped off SDS and if they care they could easily take action. If you buy 3rd party stubs your vulnerable to being ripped off and or banned, there’s no getting around that.

I don’t think it’s weird it’s just the card art milestone is on par with hall of fame. Dude has the worst swing in the game if he was 125’s across the board with a glow in the dark superfractor his card would still be cheeks
