some stats are just meaningless now. 125 contact should be for .340 hitters, not something that is common. Ketel Marte does not remotely deserve a 125/120 split unless maybe its a 2019 Flashback
125 contact should be for .400 hitters, back when they introduced 125cap they had said that 99 (cap then) represented a .333 avg

Congrats on making it this far, I played minimally through the 8th inning(the repeatable mini season the reason I played at all) but haven't touched it in over a week to 10 days. My interest disappeared when they started all the super powered cards( warranted or not, mostly not) all the new Phillies should have peaked my interest again,but it hasn't, I've never liked the super powered near max cards(a few players would deserve one) ....

Blatant game scripting. Had a 1 run lead + no-hitter going into the 9th against a guy who could not hit, nor lay off of junk. I had 22 strikeouts with my starter, to give you an idea. The home run that won me the game in extra innings was not nearly as good... yet, I still got the end of the game home run buff and capped off an exciting comeback against my friend. (Oh, did I mention I hit a 2 run home run to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th to take the game to extras?) It's like, dude....it's fun in the moment and all. I feel good for having won...then realize my turn is coming to lose a game in dramatic fashion. It's a seesaw. Buff you for a game or two. Nerf you for a game or two. Just let the games play out based on skill. Enough with the game scripting garbage. Video games in general are becoming too controlled and scripted.
I am wondering if the guy on the other side of this was sitting there thinking "ok, I sucked this whole game but here comes the 9th, is the game gonna screw him over so I win?
I have a lot of faith that the Mets will complete their tanking, I do not have much faith that the reds or dbacks can take the spot

Buck O' Neil is a Hall of Famer, who was inducted in 2022.
I did not put him or Joe Torre in my master list of Hall of Fame Players. Buck was voted in an an Executive and Torre as a manager. So I made the decision to just include those who were voted in as Players.
I'm trying to remember back to the first interviews with Bob Kendrick, but didn't Buck start the Negro Leagues Museum because him and a lot of others didn't get in as players, and he did it so those that were deserving but overlooked got some form of recognition?

This 100 percent .I predicted all star to be 94-95 with the best being 96, if that happened we'd just be starting to get our first 99s now, and I think we all would have been more engaged throughout and it would have been better for the game.

Yeah, Ramone was pretty rough slowing down the swing to hit it, reminded me of curve ball speed, I usually don't have much trouble hitting hanging curveballs off guys who through mid to upper 90s, so I took that same approach and did enough to beat him. glad it helped.

Arenado Hit 350 in June before the power creep would allow a 99
Alonso hit 253 in Sept well into the 99 Overall releasesI would say when they hit that HR in the season and what cards they currently had has more of a impact than what the number was.
That said we are in Sept so Trout definitely, and deservedly get a great 99 card.
Luckily none of the other guys I mentioned are close enough that they will reach it in the beginning of the year next year. Judge will probably leap frog them all and be the first to reach 400 but we'll be in 99 territory next year when he does.
2 others hit also, 1 last night and 1 tonight, don't know if either merits a card but we'll see,special but more of a personal milestone.
Castellanos hit # 250 last night and Stanton hit his # 450 tonight

That 78-82 is definitely brutal.
I ordered through Amazon(I really didn't) and sent to sds for Ramone a set of those 2 lb barbells so he can workout during the winter and maybe get that FB up to 85 next year.

I did directional and up, and most of the time was so far in front of it that I was hitting it with the back swing.
Got 5 solos to beat the first, gshr,solo hr,single sb RBI single 2rhr to beat the second, sac fly , ugh I forget the rest but I was between 60-80 pitches on all 3 vs Ramone, then going from 80- 95+ against arrieta wasn't fun ,switched back to zone for that and it wasn't too bad,couple batters and I was starting to catch back up to the velo.
Edit: approach Ramone like he's throwing curveballs.
If he doesn't they should change the card art to ALMOST and the stat line should say 399 hr, and then everyone should bring 399 signs to Eagles games.
