My answer is no. It's frustrating, stressful and at times downright miserable when someone cheats or the game freezes, which happens far too often. Would be interested to get everyone else's thoughts.

I wish I could post a screenshot although I did email it in to the Show team, but I lost a game last night because of a bad call at first that was even worse than Jim Joyce in the perfect game. My runner's foot had crossed the bag literally 2 full seconds before the ball hit the fielder's glove, yet was called out.
Then, in my next game, I was up 3-0 late when everything froze. I left the game on the screen and checked my internet connection, which was running fast and flawlessly. After about an hour, I turned off the game and sure enough, I received a loss despite perfectly working internet and being well ahead in the game.
I am done with online play and certainly with buying stubs or next year's game until you fix these ridiculous bugs and also crack down on cheaters. Playing online is supposed to be fun, instead it's been ruined by glitches and those who exploit them. Enough is enough.

- Only allow starters to be used out of the bullpen in extra innings.
- Severe stamina consequences if you choose to use a starter out of the bullpen.
That is completely fair to both sides of this debate and something I think everyone can compromise on.

Hilarious that you rationalize two ridiculously inexcusable errors and somehow make it my fault. MLB The Show should not be giving losses to teams that are winning when their server freezes. I also literally have a screen shot of my player being called out while the ball was almost halfway across the diamond. It wasn't a "lag," genius.
-
"It's just the way it is" is the stupidest possible way to defend something. The entire point of my post is to try to get this changed. There is no rational reason for winners to be given losses through no fault of their own, yet here you are defending the indefensible.

There is nothing wrong with starters out of the pen.
This is Ranked Seasons. People are trying to win stubs, XP, and card rewards. They should have their entire 25-man roster available to them in anyway they see fit.
There are no rules in MLB that prevent a manager from using a player however they want. Position player as pitcher? Why not? A pitcher used as a pinch hitter or pinch runner? Go for it. Whatever you think will help you win the game. SDS did the correct thing by allowing us to do this.
What difference does it make if your opponent uses a SP out of the pen? Your job at the plate is to get hits. Period. Starter, Relief, Closer—it makes no difference. Do your job.
But I will say that if SDS wanted to reduce the usage of SPs out of the pen, they have to release better relievers. I think Rollie is the only reliever over 90. At least he’s all I can think of at the moment.
This post is embarrassing on so many levels. The only time you rarely see starters come out of the bullpen during the regular season is during marathon extra inning games or true emergencies. It should not be routine in online play.

Decided to jump in some ranked today and 2 games in a row I play the most salty, toxic and miserable people in the community it seems.
Yes, I declined your friendly quit offer. You're looking for a game to play, so play. Both these guys made it their mission to make my life miserable for declining the friendly quit. Taking minutes to wind up between pitches, pausing for a minute and a half every inning, stepping off, throwing over to first base 5 times in a row while I don't even take a lead. I don't know if these shenanigans ever work out for anyone, but if anything it only gets me juiced up to absolutely obliterate you. I honestly don't understand why people are so toxic, salty and miserable. Just play the darn game man. Such a turn off to play like this every single game.
It’s an AWFUL online experience this year.
-
What's the deal with all the former Atlanta player cards this year? Are the developers big Braves fans? Sure seems like it. I wish they'd have more players from other teams.
-
You know what bothers me more than the cheating? Those who defend it on this forum. They're probably the cheaters themselves; maybe MLB The Show should ban their accounts.
-
Yep they clearly don’t care about cracking down on cheating or even a moderately realistic, fair online experience.
-
No, I didn't "lose." I was winning handily. And you make it seem like I just turned the game off the moment it froze; I waited a FULL HOUR. Amazing that anyone would defend this garbage.
-
I'm sure you'll get responses saying "stop whining" and "it's part of the game" since many posters here are in fact cheaters.
-
Here's how online play could be mostly fixed:
- Stop assigning wins and losses in the event of a server freeze.
- Fix lagging that is resulting in bad umpire calls and game-changing plays.
- Allow players a limited number of chances to leave an online game before a pitch is thrown to prevent mismatches.
- Do not allow starting pitchers to be used as relievers or, at the very least, severely limit their stamina.
- Disable the "hold R2" feature after the first inning a given pitcher is in the game.
- Make bunt defense better to prevent online abuse of bunting.
- Limit the number of pauses during a game, not just pause time.
- Do not allow friendly quit requests in the last 10 seconds of a player's pause time.
- Investigate reports of cheating and ban/strip wins from those who are caught doing so.
- Players who received losses as a result of proven cheating should also have those losses removed from their record.

Just pitch SUPER carefully, no fastballs.
So the game is completely unrealistic? MLB hitters will tell you the hardest pitch to hit is a well-located fastball. If you can't even throw one in a video game, why play it?

Careful if you offend too many people on here you'll get banned for speaking the truth
Yep. It's amazing how many feathers are ruffled when you point out obvious glitches and call out cheaters. I strongly suspect that many posters here are the actual cheaters.
-
Almost every online game is miserable, but the cheaters who hold R2, use starters as relievers, pause after every pitch and constantly bunt are some of the most insufferable people on this planet. Those who defend them are even worse.
-
No, not worth it. Just being honest.
-
The "it happens to your opponent also" argument is the worst ever. Who wants to invest an hour of their time in a pressure-packed online game only to know whoever wins will probably be because of a glitch or fluke?

ps Off line is the minors..Real comp must scare you.
Oh, the obligatory "you just suck" reply. No, the OP is right, the online gameplay is what SUCKS this year. I'm sure you're just one of the scumbags who's found ways to cheat and exploit the bugs.
-
Yes, these guys are beatable (I've actually beaten both in the last week), but having to face the same pitchers almost every single game is boring and ruins the online experience. It's extremely repetitive and boring, too. Knock it off and use other pitchers when they're rested.
