    Suggestions for next year
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

I have written in depth suggestions for a way to do expansion, including package DLC prebuilt expansion teams. Because there will be 2 challenges to expansion. Realignment of the league and Cool/Individualized stadiums.

The addition I really want, is the ability to sign new TV deals that can increase the budget of your franchise. Call it, the Padres model. The Padres have been able to spend money over the past couple of years, because they had a massive TV deal. This would help someone turn a small market team into a competitor. And would be awesome in the game

That’s the other strange thing. My last year of my arbitration, I was offered 2 years 60 mil. Now I can’t get anywhere near that

It’s been basically the same for years now and there’s always large gaps in realism.
SP 97 overall, 3 CY Youngs in a row. Highest offered contract in FA is 19 mil a year. There’s no way I wouldn’t get 10 years 300 offer.

And FA needs an update. How about meetings with potential managers. And would a press conference kill them? It’s a big part of FA, shouldnt be hard in the game. Honestly it’s lack of updates or changes and lack of a lot of realistic aspects of the game. It’s starting to become not enjoyable.

If there are no updates next year. The show will be on par with Madden, won’t be considering next years games. So many good none sports games are coming out and MLB and Madden aren’t that good any more. Why bother.

Share what other updates you think it needs.

Are you on year 5 or year 8? You need 6 complete years before you are eligible for FA. You might still be in your last year of arbitration.

Yeah, it’s year 7 or whatever it’s supposed to be. But it’s always the same. 3 teams have made you an offer. And then you select and the team settings around you change. Update it, make it more exciting.

  • STOP Saying you’ve improved Roster control
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

This is a lie and in my opinion one of the more frustrating things about the Game. I enjoy RTTS, but the fact that the surrounding roster moves aren’t realistic, drives me nuts and takes me out of the game. I was drafted by the Cubs as a pitcher. Apparently their new Japanese players contract wasn’t worth updating. So he wasn’t on a 5 year contract, so the Cubs traded him. So they don’t even have it accurate and something takes place that would never take place. They say they fix this, but they never do

  • Expansion
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

    One day bring expansion in:

DLC new league configurations. Division sizes and playoff build. I’m crazy, so if the league expanded to 32. I’d do 4 divisions of 8. 12 team playoff. 4 division winners get a bye. Rest of team are all Wild Cards for 3 game series. That would be one of a few options to choose from.
Pre built Minor League team packages. Meaning, you choose a city in this region of the country for your franchise, you can choose from these packages of minor league teams.
Allow a forum to upload computer designed logos. Not a fan of current logo builder. But keep it as an option.
Instead of playing on day one. Allow one season not to play immediately and build the franchise staff then expansion draft.
Make the pre built stadiums for expansion teams, very in depth. MLB stadiums are often so personal to the team. The more you do that the better.
List of 6-8 pre built teams and capabilities to create own. Ability to save multiple uniforms to team history. Could give you the ability to have more than two sets of uniforms?

Again these are just some thoughts. Maybe other people have additional ideas.

  • Prefer Franchise
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

I think the one problem The Show has, is a competition of expectation. The desire by fans is more and fix some items. Rarely is there talk to burn it all down.

It’s impressive they listen to the community and take what people say into consideration. The developments on trade logic and player logic is a worthy effort that I hope works out. It’s something that needed to be addressed and they’re attempting it. Other video games don’t even acknowledge problems. The show should be commended for this.

But I don’t want to be forced to use MTO. Much prefer franchise for team control. Don’t force me to adapt to one game method by gutting a different one.

  • Might as well delete this forum topic
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

Just awful if this is the case with Franchise. I knew when they introduced ballplayer they were gonna start caring more about Esports. Cause that’s where all this is going. It’s so disappointing. It’s making me hope for a competitor as much as Madden

  • AI General Manager isn’t realistic at all
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

It is a conversation topic I keep bringing up and they do nothing about and it drives me nuts. When are they gonna learn that people enjoy realism in this game, and no one expects Jason Dominguez ever to get traded from the Yankees to the Tampa Bay rays. That’s not going to happen and it keeps happening every season that there are these terrible trades. And I’m not gonna lie it really feels like they just don’t care about trying to respect the buyers and their desire for some form of realism. And it seems to just be made worse by the stadium creator, and with the fact that they ignored being able to play in a night game. Because we’re back in the 1910s and all games are played during the day.

  • Stadium assignment won’t stick
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

I started a franchise. Even though I didn’t select them as a team, I moved the Rays to Montreal and put in one of my created stadiums and it’s never the stadium that the games are played it. It just selects a different stadium.

  • Turned the trade sliders down and top prospects are still being traded.
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

Yeah. The AI GM has no logic and it’s been like that for years. One year I played, the Yankees traded Jason Dominguez to the Red Sox. The trades in general are just way too much. This use to be my biggest problem with RTTS, now it’s on a long list.

  • Are you able to add a 4th and 5th pitch type to your pitcher?
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

I’m shocked and yet not surprised they forgot this. But seriously, how do you forget something so important.

  • It is what we originally thought it would be.
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

It’s a really great first try. But they missed some key things that I think help a ballpark be unique.

Bullpens, barely any stadiums have foul line bullpens. I suggest making the bullpens a built in option. That dictates the wall configurations available to you. I understand cut away shots were probably complicated, but if you do a few options. You can have them as preset.
Wall material/back stop. Behind the plate views need to be more unique and have some advertisement boxes. What makes a person want to go to a ballpark is seeing it on TV. If behind the plate can’t be unique, does it really stand out. It doesn’t have to be a fish tank, but something. There should also be a function to change all the wall material. Some Limestone options or other materials, would really allow a unique view.
Foul territory, foul territories always define the field. Put in a few different field options and it will give a bunch of options.
Scoreboard and Different things on Walls, make the thin scoreboards available as a wall item like the Phillies or Pirates Stadiums. Make the signs available to put on the walls. Logos of Teams or Field names.
Active Areas. This I get is difficult. But if I design a concession area, I’d like to see some people in it
Are there night games? It always seems to be day time in games in the create a stadiums. Don’t tell me how amazing the shadows are and they don’t move with the time of day.
Dugout. No screens on dugouts, and not different type of dugouts.

Snapping outfield field level seats should be able to clip against walls.

It’s a really great first try and I hope they put some updates into some updates,

  • New Pitch for a Starting Pitcher
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

I hope they didn’t forget this like they did two years ago. But has anyone figured out how to learn a 4th or 5th pitch? I just got called up and last season, that’s when you could learn an additional pitch. But now it just keeps asking if I want to replace, which I think is unnecessary. But that’s just me.

  • Franchise budget
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

It doesn’t have to be a real company. But I’d like to see you have the option to sign a broadcasting deal. The Padres have gained the ability to spend so much money because of a recent broadcast deal. I think it would add a great level of authenticity and a chance to turn around a franchise. Combine that with building a New Stadium and a function to get a deal for naming rights. You could turn the Tampa Bay Rays into a team that spends money. What you may think is the market value of a given team is besides the point. Just the option to increase your teams spending cash.

  • Create a stadium is only available on next gen consoles.
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

@spokker_psn said in Create a stadium is only available on next gen consoles.:

The impression the trailer gave is that they are going to let us build "Frankenparks," that is, assemble parks from the pieces of other parks that are already in the game.

I agree it’ll probably be “Frankenparks,”. I think it stems from the inherit problem with Create a Stadium for a baseball game. Baseball stadiums are fantastic for their individuality and taking the surrounding areas into the configuration and views. Hopefully any piece by piece build configuration has a selection of none real stadium features to make it individually. Because of this, I’m more convinced the only way expansion will really be appreciated, if their are some pre built stadiums for teams. Portland would have dome or retractable roof stadiums. Nashville would have stadiums on a river. And then the piece by piece will have surrounding areas dictate the stadium build. Will it be in the suburbs in a parking lot? Or in a city? Downtown or River?

  • Subtle Additions
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

Yeah. There’s nothing that indicates they know a lot about baseball. I also don’t get, why no one does something for the end of a career. They could add a Cooperstown speech at the end of the career. As a nice addition

  • Subtle Additions
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

I will say I enjoyed this years game. I thought the physics of the game were more realistic and acted like you’d expect. They corrected a lot of problems with Starting Pitching. You can actually say no to going to the bullpen. But there are still subtle additions that would improve it and I think people should list two or three. For example, I just got my 300 career victory. The announcers said nothing and nothing if any type of celebration happened.

    Better career recognition.
Playoff/World Series patches. They can just be on the hat, that’s cool. But it feels like something that is just over looked.
And playoff stats, it’s always talked about when it comes to a real player.

  • Computer General Manager
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

So one thing that is incredibly disappointing, is the GM functions of the teams. One, no one resigns with their team. I have seen less than 5 players, that signed a free agent contract with their first team. I just signed a deal with the Dodgers, only to see they have 3 Catchers. All of whom, are 85 OVR and above. And two of them are regularly on the bench. This is very disappointing

  • Starting Pitcher
  • mtcantwe_PSNM mtcantwe_PSN

That is an excellent question and I do not know. If I make a change, I will share the results.
And I agree, there are benefits to years in the minors. I think I’m so pleased that I can finally be a starting pitcher again, that I’ll take what I can get.
