@Kah-glizzy_PSN Good? It's so people can't accidently sell a card for less than its quicksell value. This is a positive change. Sorry you can't rip people off anymore, I guess.

The TA grind is meant to be just that: a grind. Personally, I'm VERY glad to have one back. The Pipeline and Spring Breakout programs can be fully completed with a repeatable PXP mission. The only complaint about the Spring Breakout is that 4 cards, and thus the collection, are locked behind showdown, and the cards are no-sell. That is a huge L. At least the showdown isn't required to complete the program, so I applaud them for that. And I'm in the minority here, but, to me, Diamond Quest is poorly designed and a colossal waste of time. I'm happy for those that are enjoying it, but I did it once, and I'm never touching it again. That is just not a play pattern that has any appeal to me.

@PAinPA_PSN My opinion on that has always been "and?". That's not a fun way to play, I certainly will not be playing that way, but if that's how people want to do it, I never saw the problem with it. It was certainly a MUCH better state than what we have now. Look a the lowest difficulty on NHL. Yeah, you can score 30 goals a game, and it's the most boring thing you will ever do. Sure, some choose to do so, but nowhere near most. The lowest difficulty should not require actual skill in the game (and Rookie, as it stands now, very much so does) or you are preventing any new players from sticking around. People get the Show to play baseball, not Elden Ring, and if you are brand new to the franchise right now, that's probably exactly what it feels like.

I had a "perfect" timed swing on a change up in the middle of the zone... and somehow whiffed. Hitting has had issues in the past, but that's the first time I've seen that in a decade. I've also seen more whiffs on "good" timed swings on similarly located pitches this year than in the last nine years combined.

Conquest is the reason I've been playing the game for 10 years. Diamond Quest is a horrible gambling time sink for the TikTok generation. How about "no" to all of that?
-
Breaking up the USA map was bad enough, but fine. Not having a single repeatable conquest map, something that has existed since '17, is completely inexcusable. Diamond Quest sucks. Mini Seasons is massively bugged, yet again (shocker). So that leaves Vs. CPU. Basically, we are back to where the game was in '16. Please give the people that actually LIKE conquest something to do. Most of the changes are great. This is not one of them.

It's just showdown, with extra steps, with an occasional actual game thrown in, but with non-guaranteed rewards. I really can't remotely understand why so many people seem to like it. I'm playing a baseball game to play games of baseball, not showdowns and moments. It's literally all the worst parts of the game combined in one mode.
-
People just love defending them, for some reason, but, yeah, overall, it is probably the worst year since I've been playing (started with '16). It's honestly worse than '18, at this point. They are certainly doing a few things right, but a WHOLE lot wrong, and it seems to be getting worse, not better. And I don't think there's any question, from the standpoint of the actual functionality of the game itself, that this is EASILY the worst it has ever been. There is just SO much that either simply doesn't work or works badly. I don't know what they changed or who they fired, but they need to bring them back, because this, literally, isn't working.

Apparently, these have redemption limits, because reasons. SDS is still finding ways to lose, even though the season is over.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN "Trying to" force. I'm not playing Diamond Quest, no matter how much they try to strong-arm it, and, oh boy, are they.
-
What year was it where they completely overhauled the hitting engine because the prior year's game's contact all felt scripted? Yeah, it feels like that prior year. Every time you touch the ball it feels like there's only a handful of possible outcomes and none of it feels natural. It's not a horrible game and certainly not the worst ever, but it does feel like several steps backwards.

This is easily, without question, the least "play your way" year since 2018. If you want to play anything other than DQ or whichever MP mode they want you to play today, well then too bad. No repeatable conquest maps. Any (real) reason to play March To October removed. Any (real) reason to play events or BR removed (until apparently today, and now they trying to force you. Not better.). Most of the repeatable goals in Mini Seasons take multiple seasons to complete. Hell, they even removed the repeatable PXP missions from TA, while going back to the full 30 teams. For that matter, they removed ANY PXP missions from TA, other than for the TA reward cards themselves. I like a lot of what they've done, but I can't stand how they are trying to force people to play the modes they want them to play instead of just letting them play the game the way they prefer.

A sacrifice bunt that went for a hit is not a thing. That's just a bunt. That's why the "sac hit" thing is so stupid. There is no such thing as a "sac hit". If it's a hit, it, by definition, can not be a sacrifice.
-
@Ledfoot_19_PSN I used to think that... and then they created Showdowns.
-
Around 400. The main problem was that for most of this inning there just wasn't anything worthwhile to do. I had just shy of a million xp in inning 1. I'm going to have to struggle to get to 500k in this one, if I even bother. The sheen has worn off and it's getting worse.
-
I doubt it. These cards should NOT be no sell. I hate showdown. I'm not playing that absurd showdown 4 times for golds, which means I can't do the collection. Just let me buy the stupid things.
-
I could do with less of the "Let's go ______" as well. Occasionally it's fine, but some games, they just seem to get stuck going for the majority of the game.
-
@Jcassaro44_MLBTS Don't forget FOUR hits in a game with a specific bronze card. And I think they are just referring to the gameplay itself. Pretty sure everyone agrees that '18 was, without question, the worst year of DD. If you didn't hate the endless brutal grinding with horrible cards, you sure hated the hats.

Expect a diamond Mendoza or something in that vein.

@aldridg6in_PSN The live content team (the people who produced this program) have nothing to do with the people that fix bugs. That's like saying the window washer could have overhauled your engine if he hadn't been washing windows.
Backorders removed
Early thoughts - DD is going to frustrate the more casual and semi casual players.
