I just noticed this happening in RTTS when I use the "Play Next Game" button in a series, which I had previously avoided doing after 1.05 because I heard there were quite a few bugs/crashes when not returning to clubhouse between games. Sure enough, the third base coach had an all-white face, as though no texturing/coloring was done to the facial model at all, one of my bench coaches had the top half of his head placed in front of the bottom half, and then the game crashed. This happened twice in consecutive attempts at the exact same series.

In both instances, I was using a two-way player who was the designated hitter in the first game, then the starting pitcher in the next.

Give it some practice, @Moosealbany_PSN ! It's genuinely worth it, in my opinion. If you get the knack of it, a lot of the randomness for location falls away. Naturally, though, you'll still have a few wild ones here and there, but it's a pretty nice addition.

Agreed to all. The fact that for repeatable progression it "drops the remainder" instead of "carrying the remainder" is very frustrating. And the lack of a detailed progress screen is equally aggravating. SDS should either give the player the opportunity to see archetype progress before choosing "play next game" or the end-of-series summary should show progress made for the entire series.

Hopefully they can get this fixed. But frankly imo this issue is less important than player equipment in RTTS mostly not working and some of the bugs still plaguing pitching RTTS.

Speaking of pitching bugs, have you ever been able to "perfectly" throw a Splitter in Pinpoint Pitching? Haha, it's such a mess.

Power swing is good for the long ball, but the timing window for you swing is smaller and you have to be more precise with the pci. Contact swing is pretty much the opposite. Easier to make contact and put the ball in play, but far less power. Normal swing is the best of both worlds.

Personally, I just about never use power swing. If I'm in a 3-0 count and I need a home run to tie the game or take the lead, then I might. But I'd most likely stick with the normal swing. As for contact, if I have 2 strikes and I need to advance a runner from second with no outs or third with one, then I might use contact swing, but again, I'd probably just stick with normal.

I appreciate your input, as well as your personal preferences, but I'm looking for concrete gameplay differences between the three. For example, if I use Contact Swing, what stats are actually taken into account and to what extent? Will it only look at my Contact R/L stats, and apply 100% of those, while taking only a fraction of my Power R/L stats? I can't seem to find anything in the game that defines exactly what each swing does.

I typically stick to Normal Swing personally, and use Contact Swing when protecting with 2 strikes, but it'd be nice to know exactly what each button actually does.

Is there any resource that clearly defines the differences of each swing type in Zone Hitting, besides the clearly different size of the PCI? From a statistical standpoint, what does each different swing actually do?

You mean see the points toward program after every game? You can see the tasks progress but the program yes you have to go all the way into My Ballplayer. I think that was on their blog to improve at least.

I'm specifically wanting to see individual mission progress between games in a series. I imagine it's something they'll implement at some point. As far as I can see, there's no way to check program mission progress on the post-game screen (where "Play Next Game", "Replay Vault", "Stats", and "Return to Clubhouse" buttons are), nor access the "My Ballplayer" menu.

Also, if there's not going to be a way to view mission progress in the middle of a series, then a full wrap-up at the end of a series would be nice. Currently, it only displays progress for the game played prior to returning to the clubhouse. If I play a 3-game series, the Progress menu will only show mission progress earned in the last game in the series, which is frustrating.

It sounds like you're doing it correctly. As your player is not going to need the benefit of the Painter archetype during days you're not pitching, nor will you be able to level Painter when not pitching, having a second loadout with Sparkplug appears to be the way to go.

I currently have three loadouts, though I only use two now: Pitcher (Filthy), Fielder (Sparkplug), and DH (Slugger). I now use the Fielder loadout even when I DH because I didn't want to split hitting archetype progression across Sparkplug and Slugger. Fielder also has equipment that boosts stats relevant to hitting and arm strength that Pitcher wouldn't benefit from, but equipment stats don't seem to count in RTTS right now anyway, though that's a discussion for a separate post.
