Personally, I would avoid reCAPTCHA as I believe it would negatively affect honest users...
I am confident we can mitigate this issue, but we are surely against a phenomenon that continues to gain momentum.
I encourage you submit investigation tips to my DMs to help gather information on 3rd parties like CENSORED.

I am using Companion App version 6.2.2 on iPhone 15 / iPhone 17, Face Scan appears to be working correctly at the moment.
I am happy to report that “face scan under heavy load. Try again later” has been mitigated!

the app version shown at the bottom of the login screen is always the correct one, along with the App Store log.
Sometimes, the "App Updates" screens can lag behind, especially for quick patches and fixes.

This used to get cleared completing the Diamond Dynasty tutorial, but it's now based on acquiring the first card of the Starter Program. This can be earned through completing Starter Moments or tallying some really attainable gameplay goals in any Diamond Dynasty mode.
We will be updating the screen with an improved message soon!

unfortunately we do not have a mobile device similar to the one you reported that we can test and debug. It is possible the Face Scan feature is exhausting the memory trying to load the library we use to process, or the permissions to access the camera are generating the error. At the moment, we don't have a viable solution to this problem!
