My 11 year old son and I took our time built all-time teams (only players with cards from the specific team) and grinned each of the team conquest maps and we are finally done. The offline grind may not be for everyone but my son and I enjoyed it and I was able to teach him more about the history of the game. A 100% win for me!

Hank Aaron passed away this morning at 86. An absolute legend and icon of the sport.

I bought Madden this year for the first time in 5 years. I'm enjoying it. Is it perfect, nope, but its enjoyable. I also play The Show. Its possible to do both and enjoy both. I'll probably also buy NBA 2K in a few weeks (waiting to hear/see about gameplay improvements). Its 100% possible to play multiple games and enjoy them all without being contentious.

I have very limited use of my left hand due to medical issues. I used to use PCI but it became almost impossible for me, I still love the game and want to play, so I primarily use directional. It's definitely tougher. I wouldn't say the game caters to directional hitters at all. When I match up against a good pitcher using PinPoint its almost impossible, but its baseball, so I slog through. I love this game.

I'm not that good, my son and I haven't played many games online. Its a completely different experience. We're 0-6 in the event but 9-2 in ranked. We desperately want Belli, but this is definitely a struggle for us.
If you ask me, you’re winning. You’re playing with your son and that’s the biggest victory.
You are so right. He was relatively indifferent to baseball. We started playing the game in August to stave off the boredom of the pandemic. We are now obsessed with the game and it has unlocked a passion for baseball within him. We are New Yorkers, but my wife is from Illinois and a huge Cubs fan, so her family got a kick out of my son talking about all the classic Cubs he's been playing and studying up. It really has been the highlight of 2020 for me.

With MLB now recognizing the stats and pioneers of the Negro Leagues wouldn't it be awesome if they put out a series recognizing some of these trailblazers... I've put together a series I think would be great:

I stopped playing Madden 3 years ago. Complete lack of Franchise updates and MUT always felt clunky and stale... Diamond Dynasty is far more rewarding to the players of all calibers. More than 2K as well... in terms of a rewarding card collecting mode it is the most rewarding game on the market.

I'm a child of the 80's. Brett was my favorite non-Yankee. I loved the way he played the game.

its the most rewarding of all the sports games by far

I love this thread. I'll be 45 in 6 weeks. I've been working from home since March of 2020 and won't be returning to the office until January 22. Been a gamer my whole life. My older brothers had colecovision, than Atari. My mom got me a Nintendo and then a Super Nintendo. Sega Genesis followed in the early 90's until I went Playstation in the the mid-to-late 90s and haven't looked back. My oldest son is 12 and loves playing the Show with me. We work up and play every morning before he has to get ready for school.

You used the French flag instead of the Dutch flag. The Dutch flag has red, white and blue horizontal banners from top to bottom. As a Dutch citizen I am slightly insulted that you didn't do a bit more research in such a simple fact.
I actually see how you would think its the French flag, but it's actually the flag of the Netherland s turned 90 degrees to the right so it fits the space vertically.

I'm sure this will be an unpopular reaction. I play roughly 2 hours a day (between 6am-7am and 8pm-9pm) on the weekdays, and maybe an extra hour a day on the weekends. I have a tough (but rewarding) job and 4 kids. So needless to say some responsibilities. As noted, there have definitely been server issues, and I am average player at best in the game. Also, I have played only 1 game in ranked, 1 in Battle Royale and 3 events games, and I have nearly 500,000xp. I've been very focused on high xp tasks (conquests, moments, locking in sets) and trying to take advantage of double xp. The grind is not for everyone, but it's definitely achievable.

I've said this before, and I'll repeat it here. I was addicted to NBA 2K MyTeam. I first discovered it in 2016 and instantly fell in love. It was the perfect marriage of card collecting and gaming with legends from all eras. The mode was quickly ruined by the greed of the developers. The best cards were kept behind pay walls or were attainable only through an unbelievable grind. During the pandemic last year I discovered The Show. I played 19 (which was free from the October prior) and found myself loving Diamond Dynasty. I then purchased 20 in August last year and my obsession only grew. The best cards in the game were easily attainable, and the grind was so rewarding. With the addition of the parallel program the mode is even more rewarding. At this point I don't know if I will buy Madden or 2K in their upcoming seasons as I'm thoroughly in love with The Show. I don't get to game a lot, but when I do, I like my experience to be rewarding... The Show provides that.

I have zero problem with them. They generally lead to free cards and don't require a long grind.
-
I actually play them both. Honus at SS and Tatis at 2nd.

I was a boy genius who graduated high school at 13, started college 9 days later, worked on Wall Street at 16 years old. Quit my Wall Street job after 10 months and have spent most of the last 26 years happily working on the creative side of publishing!
If you can get me a book deal then you're Jimmie Foxx or Babe Ruth or POTM Tatis or whoever you want.
I'm on the magazine side of publishing. Worked on a few books but mostly stuck to the magazines. Its been my life passion and I legit love what I do.

I've been using Finest Soto in LF, Trout in CF, Mantle in RF. I bring in Griffey late game as a defensive replacement for Soto. I haven't swung well with Griffey as of yet. I haven't tried Acuna yet, but will have to give him a whirl.

I'm not sure how The Show has incorporated the WBC in the past, but I put together a few cards I think could be fun. I can't post the images directly in here (maybe I just don't know how) but I added the link to my twitter where I have the image. Let me know what you think of these, and if there is anyone else you'd like to see from this set.

Last year was my first time ever playing DD. I loved the collecting of cards and was so nervous about running them out. I started playing RS late in the game cycle. While enjoyable it definitely was sweaty. I think my overall record was about 34-20. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but was still having fun. I'm having a much more difficult time this year (I think I'm 16-9) in RS. My inability to get better at hitting and the advent of pinpoint have made it harder for me to compete (I also usually play with my 11 year old, so we trade innings off an on, hard to get a flow, but I'd rather play with him than without). I started playing BR last week for the first time (we loved Bryce last year and wanted him again) and absolutely love it. The randomness of cards has been a pleasant surprise. I'm not facing deGrom or Cabrera every game and lineups stacked with the latest all-stars. I'm having more fun playing BR (even If ive yet to get more than 7 wins in any run) than I have playing anything else all year.
