Look at 2k now. Every week they come out with a new 100 overall card. You cannot buy this card at all. You have to buy 6-7 other useless cards to collect with a “chance of pulling” this card. Now that is pay to win(and just out right criminal)

Been using Kensuke since I unlocked him on God Squad. I have had a hard time finding good RHB batters I hit well with in outfield so have Biggio leading off and playing corner outfield. Biggo would be my number 2 catcher option for sure though. Mauer always plays above his stats and I did well in ranked with his lower tier cards last year coupled with the lack of good lefty pitchers he would be my third option but Kensuke destroys baseballs so wouldn't take him out of lineup for any reason.

It's all a matter of how you approach the game and the mode in general. If you are fine using earned cards then I am sure it does not look like a cash grab.

But if you want specific players in your lineup then it will be more expensive as far as Stubs are concerned.

I play offline modes with a Cardinals team as much as possible. They have already released four 99 cards, available only in packs and that currently still cost about 300K in stubs to get on the market. These cards are Set 1 so in July I will need to replace all four 99 players when I want to do season content like conquests or, more likely, buy new high diamond players of the same four players. Lsst year I may have spent 300K to 400K on my Cardinals lineup for the entire year.

If you are a completionist (thank god I am not) and work to finish the set 1 collection to get 99 Babe Ruth. You will need to replace him in July also and I guarantee that we will see more Set constrained Ruth cards upcoming.

Obviously the CASH GRAB is not aimed at offline players.

This move was made to make offline players happy, while also putting more pressure on online players to complete Series and Sets ASAP to have an advantage over others who don't. The only way to do that is to BUY STUBS.

SDS knows they aren't going to get money out of mostly OFFLINE players who basically REFUSE to play online. But they know they will make them happy by making it super easy for them to acquire 99's to beat up on the CPU with.

At the same time, dropping all this 99 content so early will entice online players to buy stubs to complete their sets and get reward cards before anyone else does so they have an advantage...even if it's only for a day or two.

There are so many bad assumptions and generalizations in that one post it is hard to address them.

First, did you not read what I posted about the Cardinals and me wanting to get all of the Cardinal Cards? I am an offline player. It will absolutely cost me many, many more stubs to keep up with one team this year than it did last year.

Second, you make the assumption that primarily offline players won't be affected by FOMO every bit as much as online players. There is no indication one way or another whether offline players are likely to buy stubs? I assume that there are many that do.

I am not saying that online players are not more likely to spend on stubs than offline players because they probably are but it is not as clear cut as you try and make it.

As far as making it super easy to acquire 99's offline please tell me how. I have a total of four 99's on my team. One was a XP Program Boss and the other three were purchased off of the community at the cost of 200K or so. There is a 99 Adam Wainwright I would like to acquire but I can't afford it. I would like to finish the Cardinals collection but due to the prices of Arenado and Goldschmidt I can't afford it. Don't tell me that SDS is throwing 99's at offline players and not also trying to target them to get more stubs out of as well.

Sorry if I went on a little long there but your post came off as super disdainful of offline players as if somehow they are a lesser species of player.

You do know you can use any card offline all year right? It’s just for online play

Haven’t pulled anything but low diamonds so it’s stopping me from completing LS. NL I need Mookie, top Mets and top Cardinals. Haven’t even put a dent in the AL
