Earlier this year, I went back and looked at CPU stats and compared to this year. By late July / early August this year, I had already hit into more double plays than all of last year. Hit variety is super weak in offline games. Conquest is a double play bonanza and an infestation of at 'em balls. Play vs CPU on Vet and AS is just a HR derby (fine for PXP players) or an incessant amount of more at 'em balls. HOF vs CPU is better. I stink on Legend as I've tried it numerous times, lol.

Exactly. I never thought I’d see @arvcpa_MLBTS posting like this. I wish they’d host a town hall so we could hear them try to explain some of this.

Didn't they say something about a stream next week as well? Surely it can't be as cringe as this past stream........................That was disgustipating...

Did some of the Moments/Confirm Restarts and a quick game for the Topps Now completion and remembered how laggy it was previously on 'content day' when it was difficult to do basically anything for the first hour or so after 'pushing the button'. Only this time, no lag, no stutters or hesitation. I know a lot of folks quit playing already, but how many got fed up with the nonsense from this Season and just said nope, whether that be for today/next couple days or for good?

I play the game because I love baseball. SDS just happens to develop a game of baseball. They're making me regret playing their game. I bought SMB4 as well when it came out and have been playing more of that to get my fix.

Rather disappointing to not get at least one rare tier or simply one decent overall - but it's free stubs, I suppose. Appears you guys got all the good pulls already, huh?

Anyone have issues in the FS vs Draft Day 3 inning game where the tutorials kept popping up? I had it 4 times during the game 'teaching me how to field and throw'.

It's worth the risk in this case for 15K, but I'm 0fer almost everything in packs this year. 1 lone Harper from a Conquest DD pack what seems like long, long ago. Other than that, hundreds of nothing, lol. But, I'm not sinking money into anything. Just the free packs or, in this case, the cheap packs where it's close to break even. No way in Hades I'd drop 50K on one of these or other choice packs with my luck.

I did the Costco for grinding as well. I had to upload several times before it finally went through. Error after error until the upload magically worked. This was also the case for a couple I wanted to simply try out. Multiple uploads and the upload finally clicked.

This looks more like 'Collect 5 ASG players and obtain Zac Gallen' or 'Collect 10 ASG players and obtain Semien' rather than a boss pack. Other than O'Neill and to a lesser extent Cameron, these are poor choices for 'bosses'. Cue the 50K Choice Packs for the better cards.

I started playing some SMB4 as well and do like it. I've also been impressed !gasp! with how EA has updated the latest golf game. It is very well done and has garnered much of my time. There used to be a time where I'd only play MLB. Unfortunately, the current direction of the game just isn't for me, and that's fine. I love baseball and will continue to play, but I'm not about the sudden direction with what could be 4 to 5 of the same player with a 99 just for the sake of set inclusions/exclusions and basically all the premiere cards behind packs. Last year the 'better' packs were 30K to 40K. Now we're at 50K and 60K and it's a rare instance to see any choice packs in Conquest or Programs. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Shark Map filled with Set 1 collectibles. Hopefully not the case, but there's not much rhyme or reason to the content feed this year.

I turn off commentary, crowd noise, PA, and music. It's nothing but the sounds of the bat, ball, cleats, and whatever Tool album I'm listening to at that time while playing.

Wish there was a way to turn off the walk-up 'music'. It's not music - it's just a bunch of hideous jingles that are also overplayed time and time again as well.

AS is definitely more rewarding as far as your offense goes, as Rookie and Veteran have far too much RNG and pitchers with 40 CTRL and 35 BB/9 just painting the borders the entire game, but simming is brutal at times. I've already lost 60-11, 40-9 and 26-3, which makes absolutely zero sense.

Before I'm forced to sink too much time into them, I press the PS button, click Close Game, go one tile over and play something else. I'm not a fan of Confirm Restarts in the slightest. Either I get through them in somewhat decent time or I'll just play another game I enjoy playing. Single worst all time mode of any game I've ever played, and I'm not what you would call a young fella.

An emphatic L for not being better prepared for lots of people knowingly going to show for the New Program/Season today. Unfortunately, it's the norm rather than the outlier every time a content drop takes place.

AKA Lone Silvers

I went through several controllers quickly due to stick drift. I bit the bullet for the new PS5 Edge controller as you can replace various parts on them, including the sticks. The controller is a bit expensive, but results I've had so far are good. Had it since January and no issues - small sample size of 4 months. The stick replacements are $20 so ROI on these can take some time, but I play a lot of different games and I like the controller so far. The ability to set dead zones also helps as the native controllers don't do that.

Diamond Duos for me almost every time so far. I like to call them Lone Silvers, though, as it's more appropriate for what I have gotten out of hundreds of Headliner/Duo packs over the past 3 years. Would rather have the 7500 stubs or the WCB/Charisma choice which is minimum 10K. There's a reason the Duos have the Silver badge assigned to them. Some have been fortunate in them, and that's cool. As for me, Lone Silvers 95% of the time with an occasional Gold. Couple more weeks to possibly get lucky and get the Diamond pull, but I'm certainly not counting on it.

Don't like Moments, and Showdowns are almost like a 10 pack of Moments - with a guaranteed Silver. Exhilarating, right? Nope. Innovation has not been a strong point for this game in a while. It might be different if all the modes deemed 'Veteran' all played similarly. Instead, Conquest plays nothing like Moments, which plays nothing like Showdowns, which plays nothing like Play vs CPU, which plays nothing like <insert game mode here>.

I got this one done, but if I can avoid them, I do. Unfortunately, the powers that be wanted people to play Showdown whether they wanted to or not.

Made it to Chafin. Hit 8 consecutive 98 - 102 mph at'em balls. Just a ridiculously abysmal mode that is just an incredible time sink. I'll end up playing EA PGA for a while or something as I don't like Showdowns whatsoever anyway. I'm usually impatient in trying to get them out of the way but actually took my time on this one to avoid HAVING to play something I really don't care to play all over again. Waited out pitches. Dude had no energy. At'em balls the entire round. Frustrating mode to play for the time you invest in it.
