Ben Gellman has a horrible voice! He’s nails on a chalkboard to me. He also sounds like he’s doing a dramatic reading instead of calling a game. It’s terrible!

I was playing a game the other that had the bases loaded and two out. My character was on second and Franmil Reyes tries a drag bunt and, of course, gets thrown out at first by a mile. I won’t even start a rant about bunting when I play 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. I’m reduced to playing shortstop or an outfield position.

It seems like within the last few weeks the base running has gotten really bad. I wish I had a dollar for every time a runner tries to advance on a bad hop or long fly out and gets thrown out at home. I’m talking the catcher has the relay throw before the runner is 3/4 of the way to the plate. It’s bad enough we have to deal with stupidity in the bunting but now this. Exceedingly frustrating.

I don’t play 3rd base for the same reason. I rather enjoy the outfield, however. I have opportunities set to all and actually get to play more than routine fly balls or watch homers fly over the wall.

I’ve had that happen. The manager during the game is disconnected from the manager in the clubhouse presentations. The stealing by the AI is just as stupid with stealing as bunting.

The bunting is ridiculous whether playing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Yes, 2nd. You wouldn’t think you’d have to deal with bunts as a 2nd baseman. The AI bunts in the dumbest situations. Just today I had my player on 3rd with bases loaded and 2 outs. You guessed it, the batter tried to bunt his way on and made the 3rd out. I really wish there was a way to turn bunting off. It’s not very prevalent in MLB and should be much less prevalent in the game. I only play shortstop and the outfield to avoid the stupid bunting. 3rd base is my favorite position but it’s frustrating because there are only a couple defensive chances per game and 1 is guaranteed to be a bunt.

I’m just wondering who might want a stand alone game for RTTS. MLB The Show: The Road to the Show. Maybe it would be able to extend to High A ball? Maybe render the real stadiums for every team and not just MLB? It may allow for even more realism, IDK. Just a question I’ve been pondering.

I’m enjoying RTTS in The Show 22 except for Russo’s dialogue directly after the draft! “I hate this pick!”. I have news for you Chris, this pick HATES you!!

Does anyone play with the announcers turned down? Sometimes they just bug me to no end. Especially Dan Plesac. Some of his lines are so long winded. There’s one where I swear he says “Enning inding double play”. I once hit 488 ft homerun and his comment was it was a wall scraper. 🤨

My character is a 19 year old rookie on a Padre team that just won a pennant. That in itself is troublesome as he is the starting second baseman. We are currently playing the Brewers. Game two of the series ended when Christian Yelich tried a drag bunt to get on base. Really??? In game three Manny Machado sacrifice bunted with one out and my character on second after hitting a double. REALLY?!?!? Maybe I don’t know as much about baseball as I think because I don’t believe either play would happen in reality. I’m dumbfounded at some of the “baseball” I see in this game.

Okay, my character got invited to spring training with the Padres. I’m halfway through spring training and EVERY game starts with Matty V. Saying “Rob Steal makes his major league debut”. Then the announcers talk about my baseball story and if I’m 0-2 Matty says “he’d like to turn that batting average into a .333 with a hit here”. Dude, I’m hitting .282 in like 14 spring games, wtf are you talking about? It’s stupid the the AI thinks every game is my debut.

Spring Training games go forever too in The Show. Would be nice if that was fixed up for next year so that they finish after 10 if there’s still a tie.

yes spring training games do not go extra innings and never played in the rain. Again total lack of knowledge or understanding of baseball by SDS computer geeks

Off my own topic....why are there no rain delays or rainouts? I’ve played games in drenching down pours and the game goes on like it’s sunny. I don’t get it.

What are some funny things you’ve seen happen on the field during the game? I once drilled the coach pitching in the batting part of scout day square in the face. He dropped like a stone face down spread eagle. I had to pause I laughed so hard.

Agreed. I always try to do good, but might try to be bad
some.

Quit at the start of scout day and simulate the showcase games and you’ll get drafted in a late round near the bottom of the draft.

Apparently I’m not creative. I can never pick a character name l like. I have two that I use all the time and I’m bored with them. Any ideas? Anyone have any funny names with audio?

Just wondering why RTTS doesn’t observe the minor league way of playing. Example would be starting extra innings with a runner on second. I know fans hate it but that’s what they do. Also, four umpires at the AA level, really? I had a 24 inning game in the Topps Showcase the other day. By the end I was trying to make an error just to end the game.
