Didn't They Say They Improved OF Fielding?
  • jswance2_PSNJ jswance2_PSN

@nyjets52 said in Didn't They Say They Improved OF Fielding?:

Fielding is a joke. It was improved when the game dropped. Just like last year. Then they go and tweak things and everything goes to [censored]. Shortstops run in on balls to their left. 3rd basemen too. Centerfielders with diamond fielding break the wrong way or dont move at the crack of the bat to ensure doubles. You get control of the wrong fielder on fly balls when it clearly should be the centerfielder ball. Or you get control of the centerfielder on a ball that should be the ss or 2nd baseman's play. but you hit dive because you know its within 3 feet of them only to see the centerfielder belly flop to give up a double. Content has been great this year minus a bunch of cards everyone wants being a million stubs a piece. Gameplay took a big dump this year.

Nothing like the first month of having the ball hit your infielder directly in the forehead and landing for a single on a pop up.

    Get rid of home hunting

  • I’m giving up. done with this game
  • jswance2_PSNJ jswance2_PSN

I’m about at the end of The Show run as well, for a variety of reasons...

    1. Game Play... with everyone knowing that it’s better to be late on swings, everyone is forced to swing early. As a result, can’t throw anything but off speed pitches. Of course, those have to be left in the strike zone because every check swing won’t be called. Love it when an opponent gets a perfect perfect on a Dibble fastball about a foot above the strike zone.

    2. Home hunting— I’m tired of playing at Shippett and every game turning into a Derby.

I feel like I have to spend more time figuring out how my opponents are getting an advantage on me versus actually working to play a fair/honest game.

  • Ground Rule Double- Add this to your 21 fix, SDS

@AlphaDag13 said in Ground Rule Double- Add this to your 21 fix, SDS:

There are an insane amount of ground rule doubles in this game.

Between that and the number of times a ball has hit a base....

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this in a live game and I feel like it happens every now and then in this game.

I feel like I've robbed a lot more this year than in previous seasons/years.

    It is all about timing

  • 95 Dibble thoughts?

@jz2016cubs said in 95 Dibble thoughts?:

    Here is my current bullpen:
    Chapman
    Dibble
    Hand
    Davis
    99 Miller
    94 Wagner
    98 Gagne
    Where do I put Mo?

Mo is a dumpster fire, he belongs out of the bullpen, but as you are a Cubs fan, I'd say closers role, lol

How do you guys use Dibble?

I've never had too much luck with him, as guys sit high fastballs on him.

My lefties out of the pen are... Sig Chapman, Crochett, and 94 Wagner...

Britton seems to get shelled, as does McGee... I've tried Miller (both 99 and the Breakout), Hand, and Doolittle. All are kinda meh

I don’t understand. I have been hitting everything lately. Seeing 102 and putting it over the fence. All of the sudden, for the last two days, I can’t even see it? I have a monitor, and have been seeing the ball really well lately. Anyone else experiencing this too?

I've noticed it in the events more than Ranked.

I've found it to be a little better when I power off my PS and reboot it if I start notice this.

Yeah that’s the only place I notice it too. I’ll try that. Thanks

The events, I feel, have been a hot mess

He's been nice to sell and make around 90k.

I've done the Run it Back conquest twice and pulled him both times.

  • Solution for Opponent Being "Early" on Everything
  • jswance2_PSNJ jswance2_PSN

Does anybody know what they are doing? Or combination of what causes this?

    Pure analog? Directional?

I'm a zone guy myself, so I don't know how much of an impact those other hitting styles would impact it

  • Solution for Opponent Being "Early" on Everything
  • jswance2_PSNJ jswance2_PSN

I played two games this weekend, where I found that every pitch my opponent seemed to be swinging "Early." As a result, everything out of the zone was a check swing no call and anything I put in the zone seemed to land for a hit.

I was able to salvage one of these games for the win, but the other I lost by a run.

What is the best route to take pitching when this happens?

Tunnel his pitches. Those breaking pitches go in opposite directions. If you can tunnel his pitches you can make people look real silly. Especially when people have gotten used to seeing the breaking stuff and then watch the other guys swing at his fastball after it’s in the catchers glove. It’s pretty hilarious if you ask me.

I understand the concept of tunneling but I'm not sure how to implement it. Is there a YouTube video or guide that could help me learn how to do it?

It’s the process of throwing multiple pitches from the same arm angle/release point. So if you throw a fast ball at an arbitrary release point. The tunnel would happen if you threw a different pitch such as a curveball from the that same release point. So for a fraction of a second the second pitch looks the same as the first pitch. If done effectively you can make people look very silly at the plate

I understand that, but how does one do that on the game?

  • Plays at the Plate
  • jswance2_PSNJ jswance2_PSN

Is it just me, or does it seem that there is an animation issue with tags at bases. I've noticed it more in the events. Players don't want to tag runners, especially around home plate.

This weekend I had a guy steal home and my catcher didn't make any effort to tag him.

I also just pulled off a pickle play, where my runner going home was out by a mile, and the pitcher covering refused to tag the runner on the slide.

If somebody watches their homerun replay we both are watching every homerun replay for the rest of the game. Mine and thiers it makes no difference I’m slapping L2

Really took this to heart my last game.

He hit me with the L2 early after a pitch hung. I then proceeded to hit him back with the L2 five more times.

Credit to him for not quitting.

I'd rather do moments like this versus the "moments" from '17 or '18...

I think one game with Brandon Gueyer you had to draw a walk or two in a game.

One hit, 2 rbi, one walk.... Woof
