@nerdycupcake a lot of people, especially in the middle and lower levels will quit early in the game if they feel the RNG isn’t going their way. They think after you get a few hits and they make some solid outs that the game is going to make them lose so there’s no point in continuing. Also if you score some runs early on people will quit because they don’t want to deal with trying to come back

those that can't do in real life make video games

Just wondering, as I saw a lot of people anticipating that's who it would be.

Personally, I would never use a card that isn't an actual baseball player even if it was "based on" one of the all-time greats. It has to be the named player, in my opinion.

this is a joke thread right?

No, I'm being totally serious about that. I wouldn't use a player with a fake name, even if it were based on a legendary player.

I can't be the only one surely? Maybe you're misunderstanding me though, I wouldn't lock in all these cards to get "Reggie Stocker." With so many other legends that have their likeness in full, I just wouldn't feel compelled to go after a card like that.

I'm with you . I wouldn't use fake players either. Made up attributes on real players are bad enough.

you're a "fake player" and you use yourself everyday

I haven't spent a dime, suck at the game and still have almost a full 99 squad. What reason is there to keep "working" the market, I get the fun in making coin from it as I had my fun in madden and it was needed as you progress through the year, I'm brand new, have most positions covered by guys I grew up admiring and am wondering what's coming up that would cause people to have insane amounts of stubs when those insane amounts of stubs aren't needed unless you're selling? just curious, im a noob.

X is regular swing o is just contact and square is power swing. Warning: using the power swing reduces the size of your PCI. Most people I assume just use X

in order to hit well I have to use pci and I have to sync the pci correctly to pitch thrown for a good hit?

Pretty much. The center of the PCI should be on the pitch and the timing of your swing is important to. By using the Zone method to hit, the attributes of the player only play a part in hitting when you put the PCI on the ball and your timing is good. It doesn't work the other way around. Just because the player is great doesn't mean automatic success. You have to do your part too.

So if your PCI is on and you don't use it, that explains why you don't hit like you want to.

do you mind elaborating? I honestly don't know how I should be using it.

Spin the left stick before the pitcher sets up to warm up your thumb(i know it sounds dumb but it works). Start your pci in the area that it is hardest for you to move to and adjust from there. First at bat be aggressive to figure out the timing of the pitcher and whats early whats late. After that work the count, take until 2 strikes unless you see the ball all the way in and know you can hit it.

so from what ive heard so far, hitting the spot with left stick and hitting the right button will make the difference- when do I hit power button as opposed to contact button, why ant I just stand in the box-see a pitch I like and hope/assume the numbers sds gives me for that hitter will correlate to the right outcome? this pci stuff is a bit absurd but im still wanting to learn.

Personally i always use X for a normal swing. Also yes you move the pci to the correct location to hit a pitch. You want to center it.

that all these details aren't known beforehand just shows what a money grubbing world we live in nowadays, thanks for the info guys- this isn't a true skill its just knowing algorithms, coding and whatever- thanks for feedback gentleman!

There are a lot of things in this game that could be perceived as a money grab but Zone Hitting is certainly not one of them. Sorry you feel that way. Several of us are just trying to help you understand how hitting works in this game so you can enjoy it more..

I hear ya and appreciate all comments/advice, as a new player coming in there are so many minute details that a noob doesn't/wouldnt know and that noob spends money thinking better numbers mean better results, its no different than ea and madden, the majority of people in this world only care about the one thing they aint taking with 'em when they die, that's money- sad really, I hear ya yo

-80% of LS cards can be had for cheap if you wait a couple of months after release
