Pitching, Hitting, Fielding...

I have no idea how they could ever fix so much, what a drop of the ball. Why am I squaring up middle middle fastballs them being lazy fly outs? Why am I fouling off anything that I am early or late on (news flash: early/late and just early/late should still end up in the field of play most of the time, very early/late should end up fouled off most of the time). However when I hang a curveball (that I located in the dirt) it ends up in the seats? You know when pitchers aim a pitch it goes in that general direction right? Aiming a slider down and in means it goes down and in, maybe it misses its location, but it doesnt miss up and out, that defies the laws of physics. If I spike a curveball in the dirt, it doesnt float up to middle middle.

Agreed. This is my first year playing DD and I love the idea of it, playing against other users is more fun and seems more real (cant stand watching a CPU OFer put his head down and run to the exact spot the ball is going to land without ever tracking it), but not being able to have a timing window/result correct, or pitch direction correct after 10 plus years of making this game is unacceptable.

Yeah, not caring anymore is pretty much all you can do. Game is BADD.

I just threw out Mookie at first from RF, tell me when that has ever happened? Getting thrown out at first should only be possible for players with a speed under 20.

They have to fix the okay and not JUST a fielding patch. This is ridiculous.

Agreed. The fact that you can see some pitches go backwards from where you aimed them, you know defying the laws of physics, is pretty pathetic.

Actual issues arent "complaints", they are broken items that need to be fixed:

Fielding

Timing/results (if I look for an inside pitch and swing early on purpose, full well knowing I may look stupid on a slider, how is it still a late/jammed result? We all know that good/okay happens about 50% more than it should. How did I pull a ball or send it oppo with good timing? To pull or go oppo you have to be early/late.

Ball going through the bat

Pitches going nowhere near where you aimed them, sometimes going the opposite direction defying the laws of physics

Ball stays in the air too long

This game has been around for over 10 years, we shouldn't STILL be talking about these issues.

This is their site, they are supposed to be here letting us know what is going on with the game, answering questions and taking feedback so things can be corrected. This is getting ridiculous. Just lost a game because one of my innings opened up with an E4 and E6 (boots a DP ball that would have erased the first error which was a pop up bouncing off Albies head) in back to back plays, top 9 I am down 1 with two men on, swing at a hanging curveball, it goes THROUGH my bat, strikeout, I lose.

Sliders have definitely been adjusted by SDS, this is ridiculous. I have ZERO hard hit balls now, no more perfects, no more squared up, everything is weak, okay or good. Pitch location is even worse. Make a directional division and a zone division so that directional people can have some fun and get some realistic results.

AS, however irrelevant. This isnt (or its not supposed to be) an NBA Jam style game, we arent playing on rookie. AS, HOF, Legend, this doo doo shouldnt be happening on any of those difficulties.

There is clearly something jacked about contact results. I dont think they will ever fix it. I had one the other day that said "way inside". That is a location, not a contact result.

I pause to adjust the defense sometimes. It could happen multiple times an inning depending on what is going on.

People like you are annoying to play

Because SDS doesnt know how to program defensive alignments properly and I have to fix it makes me annoying? Cool.

Yeah...try being your opponent and having to deal with you pausing over and over...yes that is annoying and unfair to who you are playing

Send a complaint to SDS then. Outfielders dont play deep with a runner on second giving their opponent a free run if the ball is hit to center.

I find myself pausing often for the following reasons:

1. If the HR banner is on the screen you ahve to pause to make it go away
2. Pressing down on the D pad in order to set my defense for prevent bunt when you have a 99 speed player at the dish
3. To check your player positioning when I have certain hitters at the plate. I always try to be late on pitches with lefties to go opposite field if you auto shift to the right side.

Less often reasons:
4) To answer a text message
5) Grab a beer
6) use the bathroom

If someone utilizing their pause time bothers you that much, then you shouldn't play ranked seasons

You can click the right stick to check fielder position.

It’s bad enough that I have to go through yet another low scoring game with a guy just blast 102 mile an hour fastball at me 105 times a game but when I finally catch up to it and get a two run homerun. Wondered why I’d not seen you around twitch lately. Nothing we can do except play the game we’re given, it’s affecting us all. I’ve quit being mad, I’m past that stage now. Best advice I can give you is to not take it as seriously and just laugh at the BS that will definitely occur in games. As for trying again next year, man..... I have to be better than this. I have to stop giving in and preordering this game, because it’s not getting better. I love baseball just like everyone else, for some reason, I even love diamond dynasty and MLB the Show - When it works half right, that is.
But the whole package of caring about this game, wanting it to be better, trying to compete and becoming emotionally invested has to stop. It’s a consistently trash product that’s fun half the time and frustrating all the time. I’d be as well of trying to get emotionally invested in a mobile phone game where you tap the screen to swing.

Best explanation of this game I have seen, ever I believe. I dont think that there is any use in hoping next year will be better either. This dev team has been on this game since at least the show 09 and they still cant get it right, despite having a customer base that tells them what to fix to make the game realistic and work properly. I skipped 19 after 16, 17 and 18 were terrible, only picked up 20 because I am stuck at home. But once life is back to normal the Show will be an afterthought to me again. Hopefully a competitor comes in and makes the game that this game should have been.

Just played another great game. Probably should have lost, my opponent was outplaying me, but ended up dashboarding when I was up 1-0 (he got gunned at home by Acuna a couple innings earlier). I dont care if I lose as long as the game plays like it should. No team ever went 162-0, losing is part of the game.

i agree completely - millions of things that could make this game better but have been falling on deaf ears for years now

If they dont hire an actual baseball consultant to tell the programmers HOW to program then I dont think we will ever see improvement. They need someone who would say "this would never happen" in the worst way.

Pitching period is screwed up even without them adjusting the gameplay sliders constantly. I am seeing off speed pitches that are aimed below the zone coming in with ZERO movement. Just looks like a fastball even though its a slider, doesnt show any movement at all, just drops below the zone. Ones thrown in the zone, I can see them "slide" like they are supposed to. But out of the zone there is nothing.
