THIS is the year they offered us a "competitive" game mode vs sim/casual

Just reinstalled, played like a dozen ranked games and had 4 freeze offs. Unacceptable in october lol, this game been a joke since they dropped online franchise. Cash grab only, sad we have no competition

My favorite is when you can tell the idiot on the other side has zero baseball knowledge. His first batter, first pitch swinging, out. His second batter, forst pitch swinging, out. His third batter, now anybody with even an inkling of baseball knowledge knows that if the 3rd guy up that inning swings at the first pitch, hes on the way to triple a, or the manager is fired. Its just baseball fundamental common sense. But in the show, his 3rd batter swings at the first pitch, hits a dribbler down 3rd base line for a single (game logic), then proceeds to jack oppo homer on first pitch with 4th batter!!!! This game is devoid of all sense, and the algorithm should be blown up and put out to pasture.

Bunch of hand holders with no competitive integrity. Admin team is trash and not helpful. Avoid this league

I dont know what planet yall live on where the pitcher dictates the pace of play lol, do you even watch baseball, as a serial r2er idgaf about your breaking animation, balking cry baby attitude, the batter dictates when he is ready to be pitched to just like irl, you wanna take r2 away and balk home 7 runs a game, im down for that too lol

Jeeeeezus can we just get a baseball game that will reward you for squaring the ball up, good play and high baseball IQ. So sick of losing to button mashing idiots that clearly have no idea how baseball is played, but the cpu decided it was time for a win on that account.

Can you just tell me why perfect/perfect fly ball with hank aaron is a fly out ever?like wtf am i playing? "Competitive" settings supposed to reward the better player eh? Still a bunch of rng, homecooking, and game algorithm outcomes. Still dont feel like i control the game, feels like the game is playing me. Tragic

Play well, disciplined, work counts, get in good spots, put good swings where entire feedback ball is inside pci, pop out, nbd, get em next time. Other guy comes up, fouls off 3 pitches a foot outside the zone, then launches 482 ft on fb 3 ft above the strikezone. Skills

Copy and paste mlb 20, competitive my wiener, still play good baseball, work counts, make the correct swings, game rewards idiots mashing buttons, sad state. 2021 and cant make a competitive baseball game

I would just like to know what a hitter is classified as by looking at their stats, not having to pay 180k in stubs to find out vlad is balanced/balanced

can someone explain how the hitters get "labeled" as a type of hitter? I thought i had it figured out after hours of comparison, but vlad, fof albies, 99 sandberg all break my theory. It seemed to me if your contact rating was 28 or more points higher than your power to that side, you would be labeled "contact". Follows suit where guys like live yadi, that have +28 contact vs righties (compared to power vs right) is a "contact" hitter, and cards like live jeff mcniel, who is +27 vs lefties is "balanced". So 27/28 was the threshold for labeling a hitter as "contact" or "balanced". Similarly, the threshold to be labeled "power" seemed to be 12/13. For example, live maldando vs righties is +12 power (compared to his contact vs right), he gets "power" designation. Whereas guys like 85 mondesi are +11 power vs righties, are classified as a "balanced" hitter. Buster posey vs righties has a 30 pt gap between contact and power ratings, so hes classified as a "contact" hitter. But then you go to a guy like vlad. His contact vs righties is 29 pts higher than his contact vs righties......should make him a "contact" hitter vs rights, but he is balanced. 99 ryne sandberg, 30 pt differential vs lefties in favor of contact to power, but still a "balanced" hitter vs that side. Fof albies vs lefties, 31 pt differential vs lefties in favor of contact, but still classified as a "balanced" hitter. 96 blackmon 32 pt differential contact vs power vs lefties, somehow still a "balanced" hitter vs lefties. I just dont understand what constitues a "contact" "power" or "balanced" hitter. Clearly i dont think there is any kind of formula, does sds just randomly assign a hitter type based on how they feel?

My favorite is when you play the kids that clearly have no idea of the fundamentals of baseball, they just mash the x button and get rewarded with a hr every inning. These guys go 1,2,3 on 3 pitches, i sweat out a 27 pitch inning, have solid, quality at bats, but leave 2 on. The next inning these aholes are just smacking hrs on the 1st and 2nd pitch, a foot outside of the strikezone. This game does not reward the basics, good play, and quality baseball. It rewards idiots that just mash x. The game, NOT THE INPUTS, determine when you can strike people out, when you make solid contact, the power and contact swing dont even create variance in outcome. The rng is op and makes it virtually unplayable.
Its really sad that i can lose a game and can tell its like a 12 year old kid on the other end who has no knowledge of baseball, or any sort of disciplined approach, but the game decided it was time for me to lose 1. Losing is a thing i can handle with 0 problem, outplay me please, but losing to less skilled players because of invisible handcuffs make me want to delete video games from my ps4

This game trash, if it wasn't 90 percent rng and the better player actually won the games they should, sds wouldnt be able to acquire noobs to spend hundreds on their "not pay to win" dd mode, even though to compete you have to have mantle that by my math cost about 800 dollars still lol, sad state when you care about acquiring new players more than appeasing the ones that supported you for years. Skill gap doesnt exist here, its good/okay and pray
