Think changing his 99 to CORE would be a great idea.

Tony Gwynn... 25 years ago that day he got 3000.

For me:
1.) Take a look at the teams to see which teams only have golds or lower.
2.) Rip all of the pre-order packs to see if I get lucky and pick gold players from the free packs that correspond to a team with only golds or lower.
3.) Put my best lineup together and get working on the Conquest map. I like knocking that thing out early before the other game modes start bogging me down.
4.) Negro Leagues Storylines
5.) Derek Jeter Storyline -
Everytime you get a hit with his card the game goes "I'm Mr. 3000 baby!" In Bernie Mac's voice.
-
So we are getting on people for actually working on the tasks? The 9 cards would be required to get Judge at a decent price. If someone doesn't grind people get on them for using Mommy's credit card. If they do then people say that should wait to get things completed.

Not going to hold back here, if this is true this is just a terrible, terrible idea. You can't have sets and seasons and institute something like this. This might be tied to SDS having such a limited pool of players. You can't keep running out as much content as they have without mixing things up. If this really is a thing I have lost just about all desire to play this game.

@genopolanco
In all fairness, I can see the rub that many people feel about this. With that said, I can make an argument that people used different cards due to the restrictions of sets/seasons and the single wildcard. Was it my favorite, no. I think that I should be able to use whatever card I want when I want, but... they have restricted cards in many instances through what is available in BR, the usable cards for every event, and to some extent, when better versions of cards like Griffey drop.
If they dropped all 99's at the same time people would complain that the best cards came out too late in the cycle. If they drop the 99's early people complain that they want power creep. If they drop them in the middle and take power creep into account, people complain about in-game content.

@IrishFist412
I agree with that as well. Money will always give an advantage, but SDS is about as good as it gets for providing a way for free usable content. I just watched about 6 hours of videos where the only way to get a 100 overall card in NBA24 was to pull it from a pack. I watched one you-tuber spend about $3500 in packs and not pull the card. At a 2% pull rate, he should have had the card like 2-3 times for that price. But making it unavailable on the market forces the purchasing of packs if you want the item. Just crazy
-
Pretty sad that they are releasing 30 free new 99's today and the only 99 in the pack (Goose) is better than all of them.
-
They give you the 3 95's too. You get all three 91's, 95's and 99's. They could have made that more clear during the stream, but maybe I missed that...
-
Why not do mini seasons and get better free packs?
-
Because your pitchers are depleted of their energy and you only get credit for 2-3 innings on the Ranked program for example. Between that and SDS not giving you credit for an inning if a pitcher doesn't pitch the entire inning, you need 150 innings or whatever and it takes 30+ games. Then you factor in dashboarding on homers and you progress even more slowly as those stats might not count.
-
Carroll (Speed) and Kershaw (LH Pitchers and Hitters)
Santana (SH) and Verlander (No-Hitter Pitchers and Catchers who caught no hitters)If you give it until 8/29 we will get another 4 Captains at the launch of season 3 and I think that one will be for Jin Kim players.
-
They just gave us CORE Banks. Adding too many CORE 99's would make wild cards less important from a grind perspective. They are in a tough place given the small number of legends available to them.
-
About time to politely leave the show 24 behind if this is true.
-
Anyone know whose Swing he uses?

EVERY online game is trash according to portions of the consumer base. But MLBTS show doesn't have much competition from a baseball perspective. Sure, they lose fans when football drops, but they were going to do that anyhow to some extent. People hate the prices at Disney Land/Disney World, but they go. People hate the long lines, but they go. Something can be fun and still have aspects that aren't as appreciated.

@IrishFist412
Come on now.... I played Madden a lot and while Madden isn't as bad as its basketball iteration, MLB The Show gives out so many free cards and stubs for grinding. If you wanted free packs you could play mini seasons over and over. Get 40 hits with TA1 players and pitch 25 innings with TA1 pitchers and get 20 packs for free. What other games let you do that I wish MLBTS did was let you trade cards. Losing 10% of a cards value on a sale is something I will never understand.
