What!!!! Seriously! So we spent over 6 hours grinding to finish this and now we have to reset??????? Brutal. Man, we luv you Brev, but dang this stinks.

Been watching a lot of content creators post their critiques of MLB the Show 24 and thought, and a major theme has been inovation on what is already good in the game. So I wanted to share some of my ideas (the specifically around Live Series players) in hopes that SDS reads.

First and obvious for me.....this is only one not related to LS directly.

Get rid of sets and go back to innings programs with power creep again. It worked...it was great...should not have changed it. Nothing will be worse that grinding the next two weeks to get 30 "99's", only to be able to use them for 2-3 weeks then most never again until January 2025. Doing this will also bring back even more Value to the LS in the first few months of the Game Cycle.

Now, how can you improve use and value of Live Series deeper into the Game Cycle? Here are some new innovation ideas...

1. Add the option of adding a Perk/Quirk(s) to an individual Live Series players. I love the concept of quirks, and Paralleling players is probably the best addition to the game in the last 5 years (please dont get rid of that), but if i decided to P5 Bubba Thompson, and I want to increase some of his attrubutes, how cool would it be to be able to attached a Perk or two to a player (which would be available in packs on the market) to enhance some of that players attributes and give more variabilty to the game and make the Live series cards more valuable. You'd only be able to use them once (so if you wanted to use on other players, you'd need to get more Perks). Even the concept for of adding different pitching Perk to a pitchers would make using the Live Series even more interesting. Also, consider giving a reward for P5ing a players (a wheel spin, or something).

2. This might be controversial, but its time to do away with "Finest." Instead, make the the best Live Series Players become The Finest players after the end of the season. So if you have Live Series Elly De La Cruz, and bought him as a Silver, and by the end of the Season he's the MVP and would normally get a finest card, instead, turn his Live Series Card into the Finest Card. This would bring investing to a whole new level and actually give the Live Series Card FAR more value than just being used to collect for the Set Rewards.

3. Lastly, speaking of Sets. Go back to the WAY you used to do Live Series Set Collections, and their should be 99 Rewards for AL, NL and ALL again. This years collection rewards outside of the Babe are abysmal. And getting rid of the League Rewards was really bad. In addition, we need far more collections for all cards in general by type, as for some of us, collecting and getting those rewards is one of the best parts of the game. We need to go back to MLBtheShow 20 and 21 to see how collection can be done best.

Do community managers or anyone at SDS even look at these boards anymore? Obviously there is an issue here still, and your community is desperately needing an update on this. Even if its not fixed yet, at least acknowledge that its still an issue. What say ye @CBrev47_MLBTS ?

@CBrev29 and SDS team. This post is not intended to complain, just to point out some issues of the way these AWESOME Negro League players have been treated within the game (Yes, I say that with a bit of irony). I will point out the when I say "mishandling of content", I am talking about the cards in Diamond Dynasty, NOT the awesome Storyline creations, card art, and story art. That is just awesome and I love it!

Here is what I mean:

1. Last year, when the content was first release, because their were 99's of the rip, the Negro league Story content was relevant for about 5 minutes, Awesome to earn and learn, but in the game, were not used hardly at all. I had hoped this year would change that.

2. This year, we get Josh Gibson and others, including the 1st Female player in a longer more drawn out program, which is fine, except 1) They release better cards of the same players in the program almost immediately (why?) and more importantly, the Negro league players have no value what so ever towards grinding out Team Affinity, which mean already the Storylines content usage will have been far reduced once again.

It stinks becuase these are core cards, and if they had any value toward Team Affinity, I would use them in a heartbeat and parallel them up at the same time, but even the better version of the cards (i'd love to play the entire Negro League lienup) are tough, because their value within the game has been crushed not not contributing stats to TA.

How could this be solved since they aren't attached to a team? Maybe have a separate Team Affinity for the Negro Leagues (with even more new players people can learn about?). Also, dont release better cards of the same players at the same time. More people will view these stories, without making it easy for them to get the player without having even watch and play the storylines. Release the better early version of the cards in the storylines as well (and have a separate Team Affinity for the negro Leagues, adding even more new player---as you know there are plenty of them, and your now only releasing 5-10 a season...give us more please!). If you did these things, I bet you WAY more people would play these awesome storylines and learn about the rich history Bob Kendrick speaks so elegantly about.

I have walked more times against the CPU in the last 24 hours, then I have total combined in my previous 9 years of playing MLB the show! Its Crazy!

Played this morning to take advantage of double XP after being away for the weekend, then jumped on tonight to play for a few hours after work and bam....hit XP cap and now cant earn more for 2 1/2 hours. At this point, i'm at 895k and if i'm lucky, I might hit my first Boss by early next week if I am lucky. I'd totally get some sort of cap if the rewards were sellable, but they are not. Now they are just keeping players like me from playing when we actually have time to play. Been playing since Show 16. This is byfar the worst iteration of the game content wise and least rewarding I have ever played.

Massive props to Tyler for calling this out as horrible. Been playing the Show since 14. This is just an awful idea.

Your community needs your help to not only get this fixed, but to recognize that the time we spend playing your game does have value, and a simple "we understand your frustration" just isn't enough here. It literally costs you nothing to put a pack in the pack store with 10 vouchers and say "We really messed up here guys, and not only have we fixed it, but here are the 10 or so TA vouchers most of you lost." It's a simple solution that at least will make it up to your community.

Understand your position but for someone like me who has already finished TA those make rights would be meaningless. The issue isn’t just TA mini seasons, it’s all of them. I hope there’s some type of make right but hopefully it’s one that rewards everyone and not just TA. No offense mate.

I don't disagree KingJon. If you have already finished TA your right. The handling of this situation has been abysmal. I get that its Easter weekend, and that makes it tough, but as someone who is in the software business, I learned VERY early on "Never make make updates on Friday's and especially Friday's on Holiday weekend's, as there is no easy recovery possible. Also, make sure you QA major changes or additions. Lastly, don't just tell your customers "Sorry, just reset after hours up hours worth of effort, without taking the time to at least attempt to fix it correctly, and then throwing your brand new community manager under the bus by giving him information to communicate that clearly wasn't correct yet. I feel for Brev here, and I hope that he can help to fix this and make it right for all of us. This is my favorite mode and like you, I mostly play offline and love the game.

I just got 25 games into TA and the bug hit. So frustrating if I have to restart. I like to play the games but the hours that go into something like this is not something I am at all looking forward to. there is a chance that I just move on from DD sooner than I have in past years. I don't play online games because of the little league (Bad News Bears) that is played. I really don't know why Showdown has to be so difficult and able to give me a heart attack every time I go to play it. So that leave, Conquest and Mini Season. Now just Conquest, which is all complete, and just repeating the Jazz one over and over to get a few packs.

Yeah, its sad. I'm an offline only player and Mini Seasons had been an incredible this year so far before it broke. Being able to play in my own stadium against different teams offline has been great, and the rewards also great.

Testing continues: I am up to game 23 in my current TA mini Season after re-starting ALL mini seasons several times last night. Have gotten past both series with the Lords not gotten the error yet. Off to dinner now, but going to try to finish this tonight....

@PAinPA I dont mind walking a bit more either, but I've had so many 4 pitch walks its insane. I think this was done as a way to slowdown gameplay, and somewhat hold back players from grinding out XP in a tiny user created stadium where you can score 30-50 runs a game, thereby extending out the XP grind.

I just think it needs to be dialed back a little

And unless you pitch a no hitter or hit for the cycle, questions are always the same. If they just limited it to those kind of things, or like milestone hits and HR, I think it would be fine. As it is, it just WAY too much

Afraid to even play Mini Seasons anymore at this point. I already lost one season which I had played 19 games last week when it just kept booting me out of the game when trying to launch, now yesterday, I lost 23 games and 8 hours of time after the upgrade and I was forced to restart. I have opened multiple tickets and still have never received a response to any of them. The way they gave up on this yesterday was horrible....they were like "It's Friday afternoon, lets just tell them they have to restart." I absolutely love the game this year otherwise, but this has been handled horribly, and something needs to be done.

Can someone from SDS please at least acknowledge that you know this is still an issue and that it's being worked on?

Seems like people have restarted their seasons and are still getting the Invalid Roster Error. SDS really needs to update on this...

Going to start testing this again tonight. I have reset ALL of my Mini Seasons and starting over. I purposely reset all of my TA Mini seasons so I led off with London Lords, to see right away if the Lords caused an error. 1 game in, so far so good....Hoping for the best.....

Testing continues: I am up to game 17 in my current TA mini Season after re-starting ALL mini seasons several times last nigh. Have not gotten the error yet. We'll see if I can make it all the way....

Well, I need to see if their response is indeed correct. That perhaps that is why they haven't responded. I am now to the final series of the regular season with no error.

Edit: Have now made the playoffs. No error!!!
