Outfielders still not locking onto balls. Fielders running full speed at balls to the enter into a give up and stumble animation. Get your act together man, this just isn't fun.

Yeah im with you on that, last 2 days alone mondesi at short runs to catch a liner left middle and doesnt put up his glove the ball literally bounced off his face, amd today Granderson running back to the wall on a liner doesn't turn around and the ball goes right through his body. This could be a really awesome game with minor fixes. I mean ima still play it tho

  • Best hitting advice

@elway7751 said in Best hitting advice:

What is the best hitting advice you have received or do? I just played a game and arguably had the worst day ever in terms of contact and striking out. Im not really great but I shouldn't be this bad. It kind of takes the fun out of the game sometimes.

I drop the PCI too much, not sure where the focus should be. The pitchers release and track the ball, pick a spot and stay, or just react like real baseball. Nothing seems to work long term.

What works best for you? I'm curious.

So i try and use tunnel vision, and watch the ball out the pitchers hand, but also like with the corner of my eye im watching my batters reaction, thats why i like big leg kicks in batting stances. Once his foot gets planted its usually time to swing.

I spent 290,000 stubs on packs and DID NOT pull a single diamond player. Is this a sick joke? I’m quitting the game after that! 200 packs!

Should've just bought some players. You could have literally bought anyone you wanted..

I have heard putting a gaming monitor on game mode helps.

Focus on the pitchers cap/head then glance at the arm slang come from behind him mid wind up move eyes to other side of pitcher or his release point. But while doing all that,, use the corner of your eye to stay somewhat focused on your batters legs and belt. Your batters leg kick is on time with every pitch, only then you have to decide when to press x.

Thanks for the tips especially with the leg kick thing. I changed my batting view from Strike Zone 1 to Strike Zone 2 and I’m doing better now. I can see the baseball with more ease. Still not perfect but I’m working on it.

Np. Thats 1 thing i never see those YouTube guys talk about in their tip videos, is what to focus on with your eyes and peripherals. I guess you could say i use tunnel vision focusing on both my batters leg kick and also mainly the pitchers cap/arm slang/release point then track the pitch.

  • What is the best hitting view for a player who is constantly late.
  • D DIRTYdp253_PSN

@Swissy14 said in What is the best hitting view for a player who is constantly late.:

I know it's pretty late in the year to ask for tips but I'm always looking to get better. So I'm late on a lot of pitches consistently like I'm in the green late. How do I fix this I guess you need to early in this game. What hitting view should I be using?

Main focus should be pitchers cap and release point, stay on the pitchers cap and release point at the top of the strike zone. Your batters leg kick is on time with every pitch fastballs and slow stuff. Use the corner of your eye focused on letting the batters foot plant and always look to hit the ball to opposite field.

That's really good advice. The Show takes a lot of practice... I'd stick with a Strike Zone view and just practice and practice. Eventually the pitches really do look slower and you'll be able to catch up to them better.

But... everyone is different. That's just my opinion.

    Thanks
Strike zone view and zone hitting are superior, its like driving an automatic vs a manual you can make a manual do things an automatic cant.

  • This year in pitching
  • D DIRTYdp253_PSN

@halfbutt said in This year in pitching:

So at the beginning of this year, MLB the show 20, I was getting thoroughly beaten in RS using pulse pitching. I’d used it for years, and had only just started learning pure analog in 19.

I found control to be near non-existent and, while pulse has always been a bit more random, I’d gotten used to compensating by aiming a little farther away from the plate than my desired spot. This seemed to work ok in previous years.

This year, I found I could not really hit my spots with any consistency at all and made a commitment to analog full time. It was rough for a while but I eventually found I could locate my pitches better, and could throw the occasional dot.

Now, after a full game cycle of analog pitching, I find I can still walk batters even when I am trying to throw strikes in the zone. I can’t believe how difficult it sometimes is to throw strikes!

Lately, out of frustration, or sometimes when facing a speed cheeser, I’ve been switching back to pulse. Strangely, it almost seems like pulse is more consistent now.

Pitching in this game is so much fun when it works, but this year has been a nightmare. I have 26 wild pitches and 123 walks in 484 IP.

How many of you are having similar experiences?

Top 100 players have an era of over 5. That will tell you what you need to know.

I've used um all, most say analog is the way to go but I have way better success with meter. To each their own. Also top 100 players this game have a era above 5 so don't give up.
