@The_Joneser_PSN You are absolutely right, I have no conception of baseball. lol. That's basically like saying a musician doesn't know how to tune his instrument.

@The_Joneser_PSN If all you saw from the start were warping pitches you wouldn't know any better. You would think that was the normal game play. Therefore, would likely not have a reason to post on reddit or a forum. If I grew up in an Amazon uncontacted tribe, I wouldn't know internet even existed. Does that mean it isn't there? The game works perfect for you. That's great! Congrats! Just because something works for you doesn't mean it works for everyone.

@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL, you must really like me… is that what you usually say?
This is what’s real: what you’re describing doesn’t happen to most people. If it truly isn’t something on your end and it affects a significant amount of people, then SDS already knows about it. You and your brethren will not inspire transparency with incessancy.
Please take your own advice.
Move on
Neither you nor I know how many people this affects. Maybe thousands of people just quit playing the game because they couldn't hit the warping pitch speeds. I do know that I rarely see anyone from my region. I remember watching MovieGamingTV and seeing the warping pitches he was dealing with also on google fiber. I haven't seen him in a while. Likely got tired of dealing with the bs. IMO, they just don't know how to deal with fiber internet which is far better than 99% of the people playing this game. I once played this game on our businesses high speed internet and saw the exact same thing. You will never convince me it isn't a high speed internet issue.

@Ditka06_MLBTS said in Let’s be honest:
@DemIsE4_XBL im completely convinced the players that are hitting 500 plus are in a better geographical location and are seeing the ball better because of better server or connections on their end. Yes some people that play this game are really good! But their connections are playing a bigger roll then people think. Like how are some people hitting 500 plus online with every batter? When half of my great inputs are line drive outs right to someone. It feels impossible for anyone to be able to hit 500 consistently.
Yea, if I had the connections I had for those 2 days all the time I could EASILY hit .400 on HOF and probably legend. I was putting up ridiculous numbers on HOF when people weren't quitting in the 1st inning. I could hit with literally anyone those days. Bad connection the best players in the game don't help. Those guys wouldn't sniff .400 or 1000 rated at my house.
I just want to see the actual pitch speeds every game, not 10% of the time. I thought the bandwidth limiter was the answer but that was very short lived. You name it, I've tried it in the last 4+ years.
-
I have cleared the cache and rebuilt database many times. Also always play with controller wired in.
There is a massive difference in games regarding connections. Those 2 days I was seeing the actual pitch speeds, I was making 1000 rated players and WS players quit even on HOF. I was mercying opponents and was 6-0 at the 800 level with maybe 1 game going 7 innings. Other games weren't more than 3 innings. Bad connection days (which is at least 90% of games) I'm lucky to score a few runs on HOF and haven't played much HOF besides those 2 days. All star is a chore with bad connections. I have to swing when the pitcher releases the ball to maybe hit a fastball/sinker. Ball warps hand to glove instantly. 99 base stealers get thrown out because they sit there until the pitcher almost releases the ball, there is a huge delay in baserunning. Host of other things too.
-
@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL I wouldn't worry about it. It will not change and will only get worse the fewer people that play the game. The people that the game plays great are not leaving. The ISP can see if there is a problem with the line. I have changed everything else multiple times. Own router and all kinds of settings. If it was on my end, I would have found the issue by now.
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS Played a ranked game tonight on all star and it was miserable. I said it isn't about winning. I won but the game wasn't fun. Ryan throwing 120 mph on all star. Opponent was hitting like .200 with everyone. Still managed 3 runs on 2 hits while taking 20 balls an inch off the plate. Yes, when you have high speed internet it feels like you are throwing slow pitch softball most games while trying to hit 120 mph blitz balls.
I definitely don't see me playing when BF6 comes out. I haven't even done the last 2 spotlights or the Wright program after doing everything before. My favorite player of all time (Brett) came out and don't have him or zero desire to grind for him. That's where I'm at with this game. I was planning on playing WC but not sure at this point.

@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL I never really noticed all of these things until this year. I do not think this was part of the online play the past few years. I surely would have noticed. But its definitely here now.
LOL. I've been posting about these things for years. There is an issue with fast internet and has been for quite some time. People on here said I was an idiot. I'm extremely far from being an idiot. I am very analytical and I played the game at a very high level. I know what I see.
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS Yea, I did the port forwarding thing too but didn't really see a change. The reason I have made WS multiple times in the last 4 years is because for some reason there would be 1 day that the game would play great. I would literally play around 9 games just that day to make WS. When the connections are good, WS is quite easy for me. It is very rare to get good connections on fiber though. Those 2 days the connections were good opened my eyes about how ridiculous the game plays for me most times.
I find it hard to believe it is on my end when I have done everything and changed a lot of stuff. Also seems like the only people affected by connections in this game are on fiber. Likely has to do something with matching against people a long way away. Most of my opponents are east/west coast which when I'm in KC isn't a good thing on P2P.

@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL said in Feels like I’m playing a meta, not baseball:
I've gone from 657 to 245 since last weekend. I'm getting low and inside breaking balls spanked 450 feet by players in the 300s or they are taking every borderline pitch with the eye of Tony Gwynn. It's insane. I don't know if I'm doing something different or what but it feels like no matter what I try i'm getting spanked.
Didn't you say that you have fiber? If so, that's the issue. I can assure you the more people that leave the worse it gets. Been dealing with this for years. Feels like you're throwing slow pitch softball. I still haven't come up with a fix despite trying everything possible. Thought I had one doing a bandwidth limiter and for 2 days I saw the actual pitch speeds of the game, no delays in baserunning, etc. That was very short lived and went right back to normal. I haven't touched the game for maybe a few weeks and have zero desire to. Bought Ready or Not and have been playing the BF beta.
A 99 of my favorite player of all time (Brett) came out and right now have zero desire to pursue him. Takes me a lot for me to get frustrated enough not to play the game but I'm pretty much there. Not even sure if I'll play WC coming up. I don't mind losing, the game just isn't fun with these connections.
-
@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL I'm about on my way out also. On all star I have to swing when the ball leaves the pitchers hand to maybe get good timing. It is really bad. Fiber internet is a death sentence for this game.
Those 2 days I was seeing actual pitch speeds I was scoring 10+ runs on HOF or making people quit. I had an all star game I had 1 hit against strider. It is just miserable and it isn't going to change. It will only get worse the more people leave the game.

@Auburn2525_XBL I have a question for you. What was your download/upload speed previously and what is it now?
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS Not wrong. Definitely a game matchmake/network issue. Would actually be interesting to see say the top 50 people's upload/download speed. I've been trying to find something consistent since that special Thursday/Saturday but nothing since. I get home now and have zero interest in ranked lately. I'll try a few more tests but I think another game is calling.
-
Yea, I'm on google fiber in KC. Could be a lot of things. Bad ethernet port on xbox , also something like ip address conflict. Could be bad ethernet cable.
Try plugging in an ethernet cable straight from the fiber jack to your console. If that works you can look at router settings. If it doesn't work, look at xbox settings. Probably where I would start.
Would be really curious if you have google fiber in KC how you are not seeing all the issues I am. Do you get matched with a lot of east/west coast players? I do.
I have been through a ton of stuff trying to figure out the warping pitches. Basically 120 mph blitz balls is what I call them. Make the game absolutely miserable. That doesn't even count all the other issues. I have had 80 speed runners thrown out tagging up on 3rd on balls to the warning track. Just the other day had a 97 runner almost thrown out at home on a ball 5 ft in front of the track in right because when you hit the button there is a delay. Stealers stand there with their thumb up their [censored] and don't steal until the pitcher has almost released the ball.

@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL said in Lag so bad couldn’t pitch at all! Ranked:
@DemIsE4_XBL when you say you were seeing the actual pitch speeds can you explain ? I feel like I can never truly see the spin of the ball.
Yes. Seeing those true pitch speeds. Unbelievable difference. Pitch recognition was 1000 times better also. In the last 4 years, I have probably seen these pitch speeds maybe 20 times. For a while it seemed like one day out of the month I would see these actual pitch speeds. That day I would play around 10 ranked games and get to WS. That is how I got to WS multiple times. That one day with good connections I wouldn't lose. Same thing happened that Thursday and Saturday after I adjusted that bandwidth. Games were not even competitive. I have no idea how the connections changed that much from Thursday and Saturday to after that. Like I said, 2 completely different games. One fun (not from the wins it was just fun actually seeing the correct pitch speeds which also made pitch recognition much better) and one miserable. I would be curious to see someone like pitching rebel's upload/download speed since he is on the good side of connection EVERY game especially on Florida internet.
The connection issue in this game is massive and is literally the difference between hitting .430 on hof and .300 on all star. After that Thursday/Saturday my starting lineup in the WC was hitting .437. After Sunday/Monday same lineup with a bunch of ab's was down to .350.
-
So I did a bandwidth limiter on my router and the first 2 days were amazing. I was mercying everyone including a flawless player and making WS, 1000 rated players quit after an inning. I was seeing the actual pitch speeds and now understand how people are hitting .400 on HOF. I was doing that for those 2 days. Not sure what happened but every since I am running into the same stuff with warping pitches, delayed baserunning and people hitting 200 are hitting my dotted pitches like I'm throwing slow pitch softball. Seems like the only people that have issues with this game are wired with gig internet. I don't think that is a coincidence.
I was so excited those 2 days. Felt like a completely different game. Once again I have zero interest in getting to HOF since I can't catch up to 90 on all star as pitches just warp from hand to catcher. I literally have games where I'll push the steal button and the players won't even go. Actually thinking about purchasing that Ready or Not game on PS5.

@GoozeFn_PSN said in What percentage of players go flawless?:
@DemIsE4_XBL I agree with this. I think they said 2% of people were making World Series last year before they lowered the bar. It’s significantly harder to go 10-0 than make WS. It has to be less than 1% and I wonder how many of those people are doing it legit.
As prevalent as cheating is in online gaming these days, not many are doing it legit. Cheating is really out of hand especially in first person shooters. Would be nice if Sony/Microsoft would actually do something about it. I find it hard to believe that those companies can't find people smarter than the cheat companies to stop it. Add a few $ to the yearly subscription and pay someone or a company to get rid of it. Really shouldn't be that hard.
-
@Pergo_MLBTS Zero chance the issues are on my google fiber for 4 years. Thanks to @yankblan_PSN and @iBonafideScrub__PSN , I think I have almost found a resolution. Last Thursday and Saturday played the best it's ever played. Went 6-0 in the 800 bracket. Sunday/Monday were not very good. Think I got a little more tweaking but Thursday and Saturday were a completely different game.
-
@Pergo_MLBTS What are your upload/download internet speeds? Asking for a friend
-
@davisonkj17_PSN I can't argue they should have been released a while ago. They also need to release more all star and 2nd half cards.
