This has been discussed on r/mlbtheshow and I think I'd like to bring that discussion here to hopefully catch a devs eyes.
Obviously we all make our wish lists for 2022, and I think giving us the ability to restart a moment at any time is one that is on many players lists. To explain- if my moment is to hit one HR with Joe Carter and I pop up the first pitch so I know I'm gonna restart. Instead of waiting until I either get a "try again" screen or the fielders throw it in and double pump the ball 5 times, why can't I just pause and restart immediately?
So my questions: Is this because of how moments is embedded with player locked RTTS model game play? Similar to why during AL pitcher moments do I have to bat with them? Doesn't that bother any of the devs in a "this isn't reality" sort of way? Allowing moments to be a stand alone mode with DH enabled seems like a solution. Or is this a limitation of the programming?
OR is this an XP issue? I know you get a small amount of XP for even grounding out or striking out in moments. So can we not restart whenever because it has to register the XP earned?
Finally- yes I know we're talking about a very minor amount of time spent waiting for the fielders to gently toss the ball back to the pitcher before we can restart. So if your first reaction was to comment about that, this post isn't for you and I don't need to hear that here. I get it. But it's something that is a QoL thing that I think would be nice if it was looked at for 22.
