Did not see anything on SDS twitter about Vida Blue dying so figured I would post it here.
As a constant pitcher who had been on my team at some point every year. Vida was a great card to play with. I never got to see him pitch because his career was done before I was born but the clips I have seen he was a great pitcher.

Other than the community answer of 'Buy a PS5'; is there any word on why the frame rates are horrendous on a PS4?
Isnt this the same engine as last year? Why all of a sudden is it horrendous on a PS4?
I'm sure most PS4 users would like some insight on this issue. Is it a bug? Does it have something to do with the coding and needs patched like how it has to be patched last year for Kaufman Stadium and FOD Stadium?
It is this another instance of something that the devs won't respond, or give any reply, like how all of a sudden last year an update caused the Player Progress screen to disappear from PS4 Users or how they stopped giving After Game cards, except for Ply vs CPU games, last year?
I'm going to eventually get a PS5. I just can't phantom buying one now just to play one game.

They added the BR program and the RS program. It made it easier to get those card because you did not have to go 12-0 to get the card
Others that wont be returning is O day and Cishek as both retired. O day was useful for a bit but cishek was down right filthy with his prime card. I don't think I will be picking up this years version
I'm still trying to decide if I want this game or not. I feel that with my job changing in a few months I will not have my normal morning playing time weekends have become more of a non existent. With this being probably the last or next to last PS4 version out I may be done with the show. I'm not sure how I feel about the moments thing returning for the stories seems like the show 19
I think I am skipping 2023 as I skipped 2021 and didn't miss much. I played 2019 and 2020 and those were probably the biggest changes in recent years because you got showdown and moments. Negro league players are nice and they were probably in the talked in 2020. The show is a three years out kind of thing. Stuff coming out now was talked about 3 years ago.

Yes some guys should never leave the game I understand they have to renegotiate but make it a point to do that before the end of the previous game cycle. All time greats should be in there year after year. So in the next few years we will probably loose Babe, Honus and Lou. Honus was reintroduced in 2019. I remember before DD they had most of the guys that they are bring back in the game on the golden era teams. Satchel was in the pen, DiMaggio was a bench bat.
I had been playing BR a lot before my PS plus subscription ran out. I'm unsure I will renew it as I don't think I will be getting the new mlb game because really the biggest change is the negro league players coming in but I am expecting a 2019 type storyline moments. And by the time you finish those they will be obsolete. I expect them to have new classic stadiums to match those Negro league teams
I will say that it was some what enjoyable and some people picked diamond pitchers usually closers. There were some weird things like clearly foul balls that counted as hits or HR in polo

Probably got upset and had someone else play ord maybe switched to a monitor. I will say I purchased a new tv a TCL 5 series at the end of January and my online play has drastically improved. Hitting one maybe 2 HR a game has become almost guaranteed HR with Hank and Brett.
I am 2 Finest cards away from Mantle. I still have to finished the finest program to get Carter and then win 3 more event games to get some the last one unless I put in a order
I did not like the star progress as it was much easier to gain xp for playing. As I don't have time to play a lot and I don't like that they had showdown tied to the programs progress with the stars. Some times I know it was hard to get to some of the bosses but did prefer the main programs and then the other programs tab. I do wish they had the previous conquest maps in play the whole time. What I didn't like that they basically rendered the live series players worthless. I have pulled Degrom 3 times and 2 of them he was only worth about 15-20k. While all the RS, BR and Event cards have ballooned in price which does happen but it seems like it happened a lot quicker this year.
I wish they would fix showdown where you don't have to start completely over if you fail one mission.

My concern is that they dont mention anything about rewards. I may be wrong and we might get a card on completion but how would that work considering the low diamonds are pretty much useless after the first month?
Im kinda thinking this is gonna be a MTO kinda thing where we complete the story and get program XP but like you said, we'll find out Thursday.
I'm hoping it isnt like storylines from 2019. They had a Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Bryce Harper and 2016 Cubs. The moments/missions were very hard and the cards were not worth it and really only helped to unlock the Honus Wagner card that year
Satchel Paige had been in the game years ago before DD was a thing. I hope the 25 new legends are not legends that they struck new deals with there estate like Ty Cobb and and Ted Williams. While Jackie was a big part of the color barrier being broken he has been in the game for several years now. 2020 had a evolution for him so I think they should have kept him out of it to give a different big name negro leaguer a spotlight like cool papa bell.
Jackie Robinson was not even the greatest player in the league at the time. I'm sure next year the collectors edition will be Josh Gibson if they can get his right from his estate which I think more Negro League families will be willing to give the rights to the likeness to get their family members name out there to bring attention to those forgotten players.

I'm trying to get Mantle about 10+ away for Finest and 5 2nd half heroes. I am still working on some of the other programs like Finest and so that is another 2 and I need 2 steals to get Miggy. I'm just going to try and get the rest playing the event. I cant compete with the WS guys and BR I am terrible at.

While I think he’s being a baby I don’t think he’s wrong about Jeters speed. The game is different now, steals are rare nowadays. Steals also don’t necessarily equal speed. Jeter should probably max around 80 speed if they want to be generous. His best card will probably be able to reach 90 thoWhy is Jeter on top of a building? That's all I'm wondering. Didn't he play shortstop?
If he was an iron worker I'd understand it a little better
I’m a Union Ironworker and a lifelong Yankee fan and I have no issue with Jeter on top of a building.
I do take issue with “light hitting defensive shortstop”. The Jeter hate is so ridiculous. It makes me wonder if many of you have actually followed baseball for any appreciable amount of time. He is an all-time great player. He did everything on the field and was as cool/calm a player that came through clutch time and time again.
Jeter played for 20 years and only twice did he lead shortstops in offensive WAR.
Buddy wasn't even the best shortstop on the team....
He did lead the league in giving famous women STD's tho
Please give me the list of SS who played 20 years at SS and had a career batting avg over .300.

Honus Wagner. Plus playing other positions
While I dont think he will play great in the game but he did play the game well and the right way. You never saw him doing controversial things. Never linked to PED never ruined a players career cough Machado cough. He did play hard when the games counted ie diving into the stands for the ball. ARod was more worried about breaking a nail.
With that being said he is not the GOAT. Even at shortstop I would say that would be Wagner. I am a Red Sox fan and I think Jeter was a great player.
I would also like to be able to see you accept the plaque at cooperstown.
New card each season. The teams would change not just the players used but the actual teams. Have some missions for previous event or BR or RS cards even if it is low tier cause 220k for All Star Nola is crazy.
