    Lack of knowledge

I have been on here several times over the years saying how SDS developers lack some basic baseball knowledge. today I saw another example of it. I have a SP for the Indians and I was playing against the Red Sox when Raphael Devers started to argue with the 1B umpire. Then the 1B coach stepprd in and that is when I noticed he was wearing number 9. Anybody with any baseball knowledge at all knows that 9 with the Red Sox is retired because that was Ted Williams number. I know it is a simple thing and has no affect on game play but it just proves my point i have been making for a long time.

How do you know the first base coach isn't the ghost of Ted Williams?

I use a Hyper X Cloud headset. Good noise canceling, comfortable on the head, and you can remove the mic if you don't need it. $70 on Amazon.

  • Perfect Perfect

I have seen it a few times. My RF has done it twice resulting in a home run and a double, and my SP gave one up that resulted in a double. I think it happens more in dd because more swings are being taken. Like you I have had it happen quite a bit more there.

  • Lack of basics

Here's a few things I have noticed while playing as a pitcher. As a SP, the team will occasionally make roster moves that result in a player that has a higher overall joining the team (promotion/demotion, trades, injuries, etc.). This sometimes results in my SP or another being moved into the bullpen briefly and then returning to the rotation, so that accounts for the extended length between starts. Also, when you are progressing, if your overall increases or you play exceptionally well, your player may get moved up in the rotation, which changes the length between starts briefly. If this happens consistently over time, then it may be a bug, or an issue with the AI. Regarding the CP, I have had closers where their role is not listed as closer. They are still listed under the closer category but may be classified as MLB/AAA/AA setup or bullpen with another pitcher being classified as the closer. Again, this is usually the result of the overall being lower than another pitcher on the team. That being said, baseball is an ever-evolving sport where roles consistently change (ex. the use of an opener as opposed to a starter). It is also worth noting that this is a video game not real life, so yes, there may be some issues like those you have described, but at the end of the day I am still able to enjoy playing it.

Wait, you're players can argue!? Is this a thing?

It just occurs as a random animation after a close play at first. Nothing comes of it, and you have no control over it. It adds a little bit of realism though.

  • Is Created Player worth the effort?
  • B BigHank_97

I have a couple of answers to your question. In relation to other modes available within the game, an RTTS created player has no real advantage other than possibly giving you an opportunity to practice playing against the computer, which is possible in other modes. The answer to whether a created player is worth it is wholly dependent on you, and what you consider worth your time. Personally, I enjoy creating a player and progressing through the career. However, other than some personal goals and trying to win, there really is not any objective other than to play as well as you can. At the end of the day, give it a try, if you don't get any enjoyment from it then it's probably not worth your time.

  • I don't understand challenge
  • B BigHank_97

I've had similar experiences. I believe in order to complete this challenge you have to get perfect on the throwing meter, or whichever form of pitching interface you use. If you are getting perfect releases when you do this then the challenge is probably glitched.
