Year after year we are fed garbage sports games. If you love sports and play video games we are forced to almost buy these games in order to have something to play. Besides the the visuals there is not much to like about this game. I am over 100 games into playing and the further along I’ve got, the more and more I notice the flaws of this game.
I’m talking about the inability of the ball to get through the the infield on the ground. The ground being concrete and from 15 feet away the ball goes over the wall for a ground rule double or bounces 10 feet above your outfielder going down the ball. How about the fact that you can somehow check swing after the ball has got to the catcher. Opponents hitting home runs on pitches that are perfect but they’re no where in the zone. Constantly getting good contact on the ball or perfect contact and over and over again getting out. The list of the issues can drag on and on. I’ve already boycotted the 2k basketball series because the game play became unbearable to deal with. NHL was terrible this past year and I am on the verge of never playing that again either l. Now we have the Show? The biggest issue with these games is having no competition. If you play sports games we are forced to buy them if you want to play a sports game. My hope is that someone in the future will attempt to make a sports game to compete against these companies and drive one another to be better. This game just seems like a big money grab with all the extra [censored] that you can buy that they constantly release week after week. Instead of that how about they actually fix some of these glaring issues that I’ve seen other players post on here as well.

This game is broken just like the other sports games out there. I’m a die hard sports fan just like the majority of us on here are. I do not have the time to put into video games now like I used to. When you a play a video game you want it to be enjoyable, relaxing, not stressful. I know I’m not good at them anymore, period. MLB the Show has nothing to do with not being good, it has to do with the gameplay. Whether we are talking about the hitting, pitching, fielding, or running, this game has holes all over the place. More importantly the game is not fun. Same glitchy [censored] over and over again. Why play this mess when you can just go watch a ball game on tv.

1. Field plays like concrete
2. Hit buttons to make a play, no response or in correct response.
3. Throw ball in from outfield and have cutoff man way out of position.
4. Ground balls up the middle never get by the pitcher.
5. More good contact from late swings than good swings.
6. Delay in game speed online and also during regular game modes.
7. Throw the ball perfectly as the pitcher and pitch doesn’t not locate where it’s shown on the screen.
8. Infielders make plays mid way into the infield constantly to record fly ball outs.
9. Infielders/Outfielders super delayed reactions to the ball.

This is just a few of the issues I’ve seen with this game. They call it a simulation and it plays like an arcade style game if you ask me. We are trapped by SDS. If you are a baseball fan and like video games you have 2 choices. Buy this or don’t play a baseball video game. SDS is too busy putting out the same cards in diamond dynasty mode in different form. Whooptie doo.

This game runs on being a piece of hot garbage

This is actually pretty comical but typical in today’s society. A person is entitled to their opinion but as soon as they have something to say that others don’t agree with then woah, watch out. People should be able to voice their opinions, concerns, issues with problems they have. In fact I think in might actually go the other way. If we did in fact hear back from the developers with explanations on our issues, topics, concerns, etc, maybe people would be less likely to criticize certain aspects of this game. Sometimes when your given an answer or feedback, even though things may not have been changed, it can still bring clarity to a situation.

I used to love this game, diehard baseball fan. This game has gotten to the point where I just can’t deal with the gameplay anymore, online is awful. Had a game today that was 11-10 online in the 4th inning. Everything thrown was being hit, even when the pitch location was spot on. Baserunning seems to have gotten worse, response time for base running is bad or lack of response time. Players react to fly balls much slower as well and it just makes the game frustrating. Already looking forward to NCAA Football’s release this summer.

Base path errors. I’ve also fielded the ball to turn a double play, go to second, and no meter has come up. PCL has also not being in line with where I had it positioned. There are tons of things with this game but it’s the only baseball game unfortunately.

I personally enjoy the diamond dynasty mode, collecting the cards from past and present players. However with that being said, SDS needs to focus more on gameplay quality over the other stuff. This game has really veered off course over the past 5-6 years

I agree with you completely on this. I went back today and just played a regular online game. It played differently than diamond dynasty.

Agree with you on the hitting, timing feels different to me each time I play. Also agree, sometimes it feels like I’m swinging through water, quicksand.

The hitting on this game is one area the game is lacking big time in. Since I’ve started playing I’ve noticed that there are two types of contact, either very hard or soft, nothing in between. Furthermore when you play online, I’ve noticed different types of lag, etc. between different game modes. I agree with all of what you mentioned though in your posts.

Stuff like this is just crazy to me. Video games are video games, they’re meant to be played for fun. Sure we all get aggravated with them and want to win but at the end of the day, it’s a video game. The fact that individuals go to this length to win a video game? What’s the point? These people probably have tons of time on their hands and/or live very lonely lives.
