@Shauwn Yes, some people would rather play a pickup sport than dedicate 10,000 hours of their life to train their body and mind to excel at it. Just like maybe you'll go to a bar trivia night and not know as much trivia as Ken Jennings. I guess because you're not a true brain warrior or something. Or bowling, or axe throwing, or any activity. Everyone makes choices with their time, and some ppl one or two interests and some have many, and that's normal, and you don't really have to say someone can't handle something or lacks some toughness because they don't want to get their heart rate & blood pressure up during videogames. That's dumb.

@BadaBing_0 I expect they did this (and gave out 8000xp rewards on the Classics program) because they saw that 90% of their user base wasn't going to get to any of the Boss cards by season's end, and they're making hard adjustments to their xp rationing.

@Stiebfan37 8,400 points for 15 strongholds, compared to 30,000 points for 10 strongholds last chapter. You have to capture 5.35x as many strongholds to get the same amount of progress.
That's just absurd. Makes conquest even less of a value than mini seasons, because it takes longer, and it's either variable difficulties, or it takes extra games to do the steal fans phase. Maybe if I was immortal, I'd think "Cool, repeatable conquest", but I have a normal, human lifespan, so this is lame. TA conquest is now dead.
Edit: I did that wrong. Forgot you got 30k in 2 programs. Yeah, so, getting literally less than 1/10th the progress for conquest this season.

I'm just pumped to get those icons out of the unlockables packs. Wooo icons! Who isn't excited?!
-
@GixxerRyder750 IDK if it's because we had better cards early every season last year, but that Whales team is no joke. I get the connection with the name, but even though it's just the CPU, it's easy enough to slip up and not win some of those.

@blitz77tw_PSN The rewards are so weak. The program rewards are meh, and the Season 2 rewards path might be the worst. There's really nothing to look forward to for a long, long stretch, just rewards like a single show pack.

Well all that stuff about "players will see what you're trying to do and will let you get a hit with Boggs or steal a base" was a load of malarkey

Seems like it's now going to be impossible to get enough cards to get any of the season collection reward 99s without buying (a bunch of) packs from the shop.
This thing of cutting programs by half is going to box no money spent players out of the standard collection rewards people put their time into playing the game to earn, unless they start putting like 20k stub milestones in the program reward path. -
You can get through Diamond Dynasty without ever buying a pack. You can play through the game, earning stubs, and spend those stubs to purchase a specific card on the market. Same as any game with a in-game monetary system.
So if you go into it with the right attitude and treat all the free packs as a bonus, it seems fine. And to the guy calling this satire, pay to win videogames use the exact same psychology as casino games. Read some articles about it. They list pack odds to avoid regulation, not because they want to be open & honest with players.

He's out with a season ending injury after making that leap...

Seems really poorly thought out, considering there is only 4 weeks to complete TA 3, before it's locked off to everything but Live series, Core cards and Wild Card slots. So, anything that doesn't get done in time will be a slow drip, made even harder by the fact that you can't do the individual missions with cards you don't have.
Also, having 5 moments was a nice way to get a feel for what cards you wanted to pick first.
And since I'm complaining, the unlockables packs stink. TA 1, a uniform, TA 2, an icon, TA 3 a sound. Wow. Really can't create anything extra? Just take the 3 things we'd get in a single pack and split them up? Low effort. -
Made hardly any dent into TA. After season 1, they gutted Conquest progress, now after season 2, they've gutted the progress you get from gameplay. If I play the game (what I consider) a normal amount, it's entirely realistic to finish the season without a single 99.
At best, normal gameplay will result in 1 or 2 99s per division. What are they thinking? That everyone will complete every extreme moment? You don't gear a game to the <5% of players who play the game 4+ hours a day.

I bought the game last year at half price, and the year before that for $10, and found the moments, showdowns, and other missions to be a rewarding challenge. Then I buy the game at full price, and, of course, there's no game content this year.
Similar thing, I bought Madden 23 at half off, and played offline, but started playing online as I got better. The issue being that football has a lot of strategy you can employ, while MLB the Show seems to be almost entirely skill and I'm still just have less than good plate vision and can't do precision movements with the thumb sticks.

I downloaded the app, and it works. You can collect the lower value cards that aren't being displayed.
That said, there's no reason to have this app, unless you're some super high volume trader. It's not like Madden, where they put out glitched packs you have to quickly jump on remotely.
So, they should just you know, fix this thing that should be really easy to fix. Unless they're not doing that just to push people to download their app. -
@KommanderNKeef9 How many 99s did you have on your team 2 1/2 months into Madden?
Would you really be so much happier if they removed seasons and the best possible card out right now was an 89 that was selling for 300k stubs? I'm not super sure that you would be.Anyway, IDK how anyone is that excited with an EA Sports CFB game, considering the latest Madden release.

Feels like I'm using the unboosted 90. My guy is hitting with Rod Carew levels of power.
edit: of course, just after I post this, I hit two perfect/perfect home runs.
Anyway, it is an annoying challenge. I don't mind these with power hitters or speedy guys, but this one is rough because Gehrig isn't fast, and there's always someone slow on base in front of you, so you can't really try to leg it out to 2nd if you didn't hit a gap shot. -
It's fine. The gameplay is good, much better than previous years. I think the hitting feels really good. It just feels like it's half a game.
The programs are so so short, I only feel like playing a bit for 2 or 3 days a week. No urge to start it up like Mon-Thurs.I don't like the changes to the monthly awards to a weekly awards. I liked the longer track and having a monthly captain. I liked when there were way more captains in general. Now you just get I think it's like 10(?) team captains between hitting & pitching to pick between all teams. And it's the same ones all year, so as a Brewers fan, it's just the same terrible Rowdy Tellez hitting captain all year. I preferred the TA track where you got one for each team, each season.
