Pretty sure you can't get him right now since you need the collection done. There are 25 cards needed, yet only 21 are shown. Wow!

You don't get any additional rewards after 10 wins but it counts for a winning streak (which I think resets if you start a new entry or lose a game).

Every game with an 800+ player I swear their batting averages are all near .400 and no matter where you pitch they hammer it.
Not exactly entertainmentThe thing is people often fall into patterns when they pitch and you can sit on a pitch, trusting that your opponent might throw the same pitch they did in similar situations. People tend to pick up on those things at the plate more at higher rankings from what I can tell.

It's an art. Timing is key for when you release your swing button
This is sarcastic right? I find the check swing to be random af and not skill based at all. Sometimes I mash the button and get a check (usually on perfect pci and good timing, which results in a weak out to the infield) and other times I barely tap the button and get a full flailing swing.
Yeah it's sarcastic but I also think it's controlled by the players' discipline stat in addition to user input.

You're using pulse pitching (not the easiest to control) and playing with Nolan Ryan (low control and BB/9's). Pure analog or maybe meter would probably yield more accurate pitches, but Nolan Ryan can get lit up if someone can hit the fastball.

I'm still loving this event. Current streak is 4 in a row. Beat some WS players, guys with insane win/loss records. Last game was intense and a blast. Tons of K's (in 7 innings) but Mookie put me ahead with a 2 run shot. Belly has been killing it. My pitching has been good and the bullpen has been dominant. Sorry guys but I wish all events were played on this level.
Just curious, what qualifies as an insane win/loss record?

Allowing for a team draft and auto-reporting wins and losses are probably good additions. Previous iterations of tournaments in The Show seemed to me to depend too much on user discretion and potentially allowing for dishonest behavior in choosing teams above the tier requirements and game outcome reporting. But there are still some glaring issues in my mind at least.
-
Having played four games thus far in the tournament, I think it’s pretty evident the developers didn’t spend a whole lot of time with it. Played the first game and the score didn’t automatically report, but this was not an issue in the three other games I played. Wait time between games was far too long, usually anywhere between 1 and 3 hours long. The start time of 6:45 PM Eastern time in my opinion was too late for most players to get 6 full 3-inning games in before it gets too late at night. And this tournament was advertised exclusively as US and Canada in its scope, so in theory time zone differences shouldn’t make too big of a difference in terms of player availability.
I’d suggest that next time the developers want to have something like this to change some key aspects. First, allow players to enter a new game immediately after the conclusion of the previous one, with an opponent randomly selected from the pool of available online players. Also, if a player isn’t online during matchmaking, allow them to login at a different time within the given tournament window (perhaps 24 hours total) to finish their games once entering the online pool. Maybe try to change the start time to noon or early afternoon since it’s the weekend and more players may be online at a time that doesn’t overlap with meal times and nighttime.
I’d played a tournament in ‘19 last winter and encountered similar issues. I’d say this mode/feature has a great deal of potential, and it can appeal to a wider audience in the Show community by fixing the aforementioned and other issues currently occurring.

I keep noticing that Brandon Marsh (Angels Future Star) often has pink hair in-game. Gotta say, I think it's a pretty good look for him that perhaps suits his personality (idk really but maybe). This isn't intentional, is it?

@TrevorBob31 said in No hitters?:
But why quit? It doesn’t hurt you. Not like you get a red “0” stitched on your uniform for everyone to see. People are to weak these days. Just take the loss. And play the next game.
It’s not just any loss, though. It’s embarrassing to go a full nine innings without getting a hit. And a massive hit to my ego thinking I’m actually decent at this game.

@Yankee_Nation said in No hitters?:
Not often, Most people would quit before allowing that to happen to them....Including me.
Fair enough. But it's still a no-hitter then. Figured I could have gotten some hits in that game, I only struck out five times.
-
Just got no-hit today by Kluber. Didn't think I hit too poorly in terms of PCI placement, but a lot of lazy fly balls and soft line drives. Only one walk for my one baserunner the entire game. It's never happened to me before while playing the Show. How often does this happen online (not talking about real life here)?

Interesting, no one's talking about how they basically got rid of pauses after making contact on swings online. Seriously, that was one of my biggest pet peeves in previous years. But hey, the fielding seems a bit better, less problems with locking into animations and the ball doesn't seem to drop in front of outfielders as much.
Pauses after making contact?
Yeah, in previous years the screen would pause for a second or two after making contact. I don't really notice that much at all this year. It only occurred during online play and not on offline. Lag was so much more of an issue in previous iterations, but of course there's new issues popping up every year.

I'd suggest using buttons accuracy for throwing to have more user input in key throwing situations (but really, that throw into second base didn't matter that much). But the fly balls landing in front of outfielders is a real issue that occurs from time to time, as were issues with lock-on animations occurring earlier this year.

Man, he was such a beast in MLB 16. It’d be cool to have him as a top starting pitcher again. . .

Well what about the past 2 games I played I had 5 perfect/perfect hits that were outs? All 5 of them.... while my opponent hit a good/okay high away FB out of the park. It truly doesn’t matter what the contact results are. This game has so much rng in it that most of the user input doesn’t matter.
I had a Perfect/Perfect with Rookie Dawson that was caught at the wall.
Bad power numbers got something to do with that. Definitely not unusual

Practice .... people tend to pitch pretty similarly with him. Cutter inside and sinker outside (to lefties, obviously with righties it tends to be the reverse), though some will throw the sinker inside if you prove you can't hit it. That slurve is pretty nasty as well, especially when it's low and in. Like others have said, work the counts and foul off tough pitches till you get something over the middle. People try to dot stuff on the corners and edges of the plate, so take if it's just off the plate and pitch confidence goes down .... you might be more likely to get good pitches to hit or get walked (but hey every baserunner counts when you're facing a top pitcher like Kluber).

Movie made videos on how to exploit retro w zero rosters and now he’s releasing content for the show lol
Ya did you also see that video retweeted by the official MLB the Show twitter with him saying that you don't have to flick straight down on the right stick when pitching with pure analog? Like is that not super obvious when you play around with pure analog pitching? Making it sound super smart ≠ actually being insightful and informative.
I’ve played this game for 3 years and just learned that this year from watching a YT pitching video. Some of the games top players also admitted that they didn’t know that. So I think you may be overestimating the level of community knowledge on some of the games nuances, or more likely a crank who wants to take a shot at someone.
Regarding the analog pitching thing, I discovered it for myself when I used it last year. Probably I also used pure analog in '17 but didn't discover that trick until then. The flick up actually determines the pitch location relative to the intended location (along with /9s and control stats), but the finger position after the flick down can help with accuracy as well.
