I'm usually an SDS defender, but I've been bored with this year's content since mid-May. It feels like there's just an overall lack of content, particularly offline. The programs that do get released are pretty much all identical. The city connect, monthly awards programs, and just grinding PXP with players you don't really want to use gets pretty boring after awhile.

To put it generally, it feels like there really isn't anything to work towards in the game. I want more cards or objectives that can only be rewarded by completing missions/programs and playing the game. Essentially everything in the game is sellable, which sometimes is nice, but it's hard to find the motivation to sit down and work through the event when you can just buy the reward for 10-15k stubs in the marketplace. I miss the Master XP reward path they had several years back. The bosses they had in '17 or '18 which were ultra-grindy were the complete opposite end of the spectrum, but I'd rather have too much to do than too little. And the TA programs last year at least kept us busy.

I have more issues with the game as well... the lack of content means a lack of stub-earning opportunities. This coupled with the overhaul of the quicksell values of cards has caused the marketplace to be totally dead. It isn't even fun to flip cards this year.

I hope this didn't come across as just a bunch of complaining, it's really just overall frustration. This is my favorite game to play each year -- I hate to say it, but it's boring right now.

At least you're not getting post-game messages about how you could've won if you had the trash cans

Hopefully this gets better throughout the season when more cards are released. I’m tired of facing Kluber seemingly 75% of the time online. Same with Matt Olson and Joey Gallo...

Last night at like 2AM I was grinding events games to get to 800 1st inning stars. I took the lead on this guy in the top of the 4th, and in the bottom of the inning with 2 outs and 2 strikes he paused and sat there for 3 1/2 minutes until there was 5 seconds left and then quit.

I messaged him saying wtf you're just wasting your own time too and he said he was sitting there watching Tik Toks and that he thought it was funny.

This mode is so rigged its ridiculous. I can't believe the game would force you to win without swinging the bat. Doesn't SDS value our time? All these walks make these Showdowns last an extra 5-10 minutes longer than they should. They should let us grind these on Rookie with unlimited re-tries. That way we could close our eyes and swing the bat and still win instead of closing our eyes, not swing the bat, and still win like we can now.

Exactly!! All these fanboys don’t realize how valuable our time is? How am I supposed to get prestige level 100 if I have to take 100 pitches in showdown because they want to code Hader to throw balls?

It’s a win-win for them. If I chase, I lose. If I take the walks, then I won’t be able to progress as fast in the XP path for those free stubs. Then I gotta pay $200 to get Trout instead of waiting until diamond level 85 to get him for free.

Lol, that's hilarious. I didn't even know we were still rivalries with how you guys have played the past few years. I actually really like what the Reds did this offseason and had them picked for #1 in the division, but if you wants to hate, go ahead.

I’ve had a ton of fun playing the game so far, but although I know more content will be released, it feels like there’s just an overall lack of content right now compared to previous years. And it feels like the content that we do have does not yield much opportunity to earn stubs.

For NMS players, how are we feeling about completing all the collections this year? It feels like the only way to get stubs right now is to work the market. I’ve always spent a ton of time flipping cards, and I’ve done the same this year (I have 900+ pages of completed orders already).

The removal of team affinity programs really removed a lot of opportunity to earn organically through the game. Meanwhile SDS is releasing new Diamond cards almost daily… this all seems intentional to try to get people that want to complete all collections to spend more $.

How are the NMS people feeling right now about the lack of stubs in the game?

I thought it was pretty low for SDS to reference the dumbest conspiracy theory in sports in the title for the Altuve HR moment, and it looks like they changed it. I guess someone realized it was a dumb move in the first place
