Pepperidge Farm remembers…

I think the SDS bean counters have decided it’s both not worth the cost for the rights and not worth the time developers would take to make the ballparks when they could be making deGrom as a shortstop cards. We all thought the ballpark creator was the trade off, because there are a lot of talented ballpark creators out there. But again, they completely abandoned improving that over the last 3 years other than adding dinosaurs and UFOs.

I’ve done pulse pitching since the beginning. I just never got the correlation between accurate pitching and moving the sticks in patterns. I’ve mentioned this in another post, but pulse pitching should be much better than it is. It feels very inconsistent, but I also don’t want to look at a madden kicking meter while I’m pitching. It’d be great if SDS tuned pulse pitching to be more viable and rewarding like it is in pro spirits.

My quick two cents for anyone that gives a hoot. First off, I’m old. PYS gives me major nostalgia with the in game music/team songs, taking me back to playing bases loaded, tecmo baseball, baseball stars and original nes baseball. Along with the ballparks. The backstop in all the parks looks like it does in bases loaded. So I love that. The part that absolutely shines is the pitcher/batter battles. PYS pitching blows away the show and I don’t really think that’s debatable. The sound, the feel…the show should just rip it off, really, and copy it going forward. And I’m saying this as a lifetime pulse pitching user. I’m pretty bad at hitting so far, but getting better, so I can’t say too much about that yet. But I feel like I get what I deserve as a hitter.
The show’s fielding is definitely better. Better animations, better feel.
I feel like PYS is easily worth the money for older video game baseball players for the nostalgia alone.
It will surely scratch my baseball itch for the time being and I’m planning on getting the show next year again unless they roll out another effort like ‘26. But overall it’s so nice to have options. Those are my quick thoughts for now in case anyone is considering trying it out.

@Player99_MLBTS I’d gladly pay $10 if SDS actually put more than 8 minutes each year into improving/developing this stadium creator. That’d be an absolute “TAKE MY MONEY” for me

That being said, if EA decided to ditch SMB and bring back their baseball series, I'd give that a shot for a year or two

The Rays though - Ouch. They need their own program just to catch up to the rest of the teams at the bottom of the list.

Plus the Diamondbacks and Marlins are both at a 28 day drought of card drops.

Of course the Reds card is d-bag Castellanos, whom NOBODY thinks of as a Red

I’m not even competitive really at all, but I love going after cards and playing with those cards(I’m old and have been playing this since it was 989 studios). Now that the market is completely wack, I’m not sure what I’m going to do.

I said all winter that SDS hadn’t shown me enough to warrant preordering or even buying the game at all. Of course I caved and preordered days before release since it’s the only baseball game. It’s not the end of the world or anything, I have perspective, but what a bad year for the show. I’m counting the days to Pro Yakyuu being released.

I was over here actually playing games and grinding to get packs/stubs, when I could’ve just glitched my way to the live series and every other outrageously priced card in the market.

No wonder the market is so out of whack with these suckas cheating. I’ve never felt like I had no chance to complete the live series until this year.

Again, SDS should have tons of options for these cards…and they choose players that are already captains. Pathetic. They couldn’t come up with a different Braves player either?

Of course it’s not as impressive as a CG no-hitter, but it’s still pretty hard to do and should be celebrated. I do think the catcher of a combined no-no should get some love, if they called the game, that is. If the catcher is just relaying calls from the dugout, then not so much.

Still can’t believe we have to PAY STUBS to play a mode in a game that we bought.

I hate interleague play so much. But I’m old and just might ask you to get off of my lawn so take what I say with a grain of salt
