I would rather them just print cards from those teams. Maybe the year he pitched for one team he never threw a curveball/cutter/etc but he did for a different team. I think that's better thank mess with the intricacies of the programing for boosts to apply.

I can see what you mean but that would defeat the purpose of using specific captains I think.

I am wanting to see quirks come from captains. Next game needs more quirks, captains, variations in boosts, and possibly a coach captain system or a system that doesn't eat up your overall avg and lineup.

Why doesn't Bernie get a boost from Jackie Robinsons Show Cover athletes boost? Bernie was literally the first one.

Chipper gets the boost. Chipper was 2001. Same dev company same Sony console.

Shawn Green on 989 qualifies.

@Collin_SDS_PSN signed up days ago and have not gotten one report or email.

I find it difficult to desire grinding 10-0 for 91s and 95s that won't do anything for my collection or squads.

Completely wrong. The appeal of Diamond Dynasty is universal, people like grinding and seeing their team expand and improve regardless of the opponent.

And no. They are business that's been around for over 20 years. They have forums dedicated to seeing their fan bases complaints and issues. They are active on social media in the year 2024. They have directors, managers, supervisors, quality assurance reps, customer support staff, marketers, and money guys that see everything about their operations. This is EXACTLY what happened.
You clearly have no clue what you're talking about or how these businesses operate or how a business relying on their customers satisfaction should operate. Hush now, child and learn how to use correct words when trying to poke back. Don't defend them. They make plenty of money and don't need your defense. Just buy their slop.
I do know how they did. They didn't make a mistake. They made a plan to make money and it backfired so they doubled down.

There are people that spend thousands on stubs every year...and i think thats more important to SDS than you playing RTTS for 16 seasons or creating a stadium for offline play .

If they don't improve or put focus on online head to head play id never play this game. Id NEVER play offline modes and never have since the PS3.

I would never own this game if it was offline only. There is literally no possible way SDS makes more money from offline players. Offline players likely don't put more money into the game for cards as their focus is "paid $80 upfront and going no money spent". You have ZERO competition and there's ZERO rush or desire to spend money on stubs. Offline does nothing to invest into the game like online will.

Offline may have been what carried the game or what it was originally. But so was Call of Duty. So was Grand Turismo. So was every other game before high speed internet. This isn't Skyrim or Elden Ring, homie. In fact, baseball is literally competition against other players. So naturally competition against REAL people is more appealing.
They need to cater to the online crowd more. Sports games offline are nothing compared to a fantasy game offline.
That's great offline can be enjoyed and I'm happy for you if you do enjoy it. But id never play this game offline again. And I'm not the only one like this.

People gave it a fair shake in 23 because it was something new and different, and by the end of the year people were mostly against it...SDS doubled down on it for 24 and that went over about as well as a sulphuric acid enema. They learned their lesson for once and decided to do away with it.

If they had every single player of the MLB under a license agreement to be on the game and have a card you could absolutely have a sets and seasons. But with the minimal amount of players under agreements to have cards sets and seasons isnt possible.
It's a horrible idea to make a card 95 overall then ban it for next season only to reprint a worse version for that season later. It's a waste of my time to work for those cards.

I absolutely agree the game is in a bad state and needs work. LOTS of dedicated work. That said, this is a big win. Sets and seasons do not belong in this game. There's never been enough cards for it nor will there ever be enough cards for it.
Everything else will need to be fixed in their own time. Sets and seasons was a quick fix to settle down the fan base for their next release. It's them trying to cushion the blow and keep a steady flow of income in the meantime. I have hopes they get better and make a more quality game now.

He's right about price. This game should never be above $50 for ANY console much less a PS5 that's been out for over 4 years.
