Why not just make higher overall captains? I personally don't see the appeal of having 85+ rated captains. Why not a 95+ rated player team captain like the other captains? 95+ Ortiz boosts 2000s hitters but 87+ Eovaldi is what you have to use for the theme team.
Just seems silly to me with how quickly the low creep actually catches up.

I have many issues with some of the mechanics and gameplay. But the real 99 thing I thought was reserved for those players accounts? I don't mind them having exclusive content as they are a part of the players union. If the argument is for custom games I guess I might find the justification but still it's theirs.

If it freezes I literally never care about the win or loss. I usually just quit even if I'm the current lead. Or WE rather cause it happens almost entirely in coop.
I would rather just quickly go to another game and hope for the best than wait for my win.
I never cared if people stayed in the freeze off against me either. It almost always ends in somewhat friendly bater
No offense, I understand the argument you present. That said, they have no obligation to just give the win to you. If in a perfect world and the game didn't stay in the freeze off (SDS didn't make a busted co-op mode) you can ALWAYS come back.
So, sorry to say, no one is obligated to cater to your time. If it's worth it to them to stay in the game then you'd be wasting theirs just as much as they are wasting yours.
Please redirect your anger to the developers NOT the fellow gamer. It's not their fault the game is broken.

A lot of times cards go up that high in value when they become the hardest to obtain.
In card games with a massive market and ways to manipulate it, it isn't always about its gameplay value but it's difficulty of obtaining. You could have a card that's banned and unplayable from any regulated game but because it is no longer printed or usable in competitive play it will always hold value for personal play and rarity.
@GoozeFn_PSN padres probably is pretty good if you have all wildcards available. I like many of the padres pitchers I just feel like S4 will be the best time for these builds
What captain combos have y'all run this year? Any good builds that worked or stayed consistent throughout the season rotations?
I found I have used the Jeter and Hoffman or Jeter and Nathan buffs ALOT together this year. I like the cards and many core cards where able to work with the very minimal wildcards I've gotten this year.
I feel like the captain cards are almost the only way to help keep you competitive in overalls but the buffs from captains are hardly noticable across the whole squad.
Only had at most 2 wildcard slots all year and with the S4 no restrictions approaching that feels pretty crappy.
Did many of you get your 4 wildcard slots? How much have you had to play to get them? What modes did you grind to get them quicker?
I feel like it's insane amount of time and grinding you need to do to get all 4. I'm not even close to 3 and won't even need them soon anyways.
This year has not been the greatest in fact, likely the worst so far with this whole sets and seasons nonsense.
It's been very frustrating going into ranked games with a 86+ rated squad when everyone else is rocking 97+. I've managed to get it up to 94 without captains or cards I actually like but just the highest overall I own and many in secondary positions to make it work.
Yeah there has been a few games I played that my squad was better overall but not many. Everyone has stacked HoF cards that don't even need wild cards then they have their 4 wild cards to just stack more HoF cards.
I don't think I've ever seen or played any other multiplayer video game that punishes you this hard for not being able to grind hours upon hours a day just to keep up.
Captains were really the best part of squads I really happened to cling to and appreciate. It made me feel like I was deck building again like Magic or other card games. Only to get dramatically disappointed with such a [censored] poor overall team rating every season. Theme teams are absolutely awful compared to just God squading it and putting in your max. The only good theme teams were Yankees and Dodgers and that's IF you had the live series completed. Every other theme team was just awful. Cant get above 89 with any of them. It's as if the captains are setup to be quickly replaced with highest overalls in content drops.
Captains really needs so much work cause I think they are a great idea and can give character to your play style. But my goodness......this game is sweaty and captains feel useless.

Lots of old timers play this game actually. Probably not the majority but definitely a good active handful. Many young guys don't join the forums as I don't think it interests the younger crowd to use them.
Hope all is well. It's pretty crappy seeing what's going on and I'm not getting political on purpose but MLB, NFL, PGA, and other private orgs have stepped up greater than federal government. That's wild to see. MLB has done so much for those people and I've seen from my friends down there that football and baseball teams are legit doing work to help out.

I legit might play wow again since my best friends are begging me to join their guild. It's tempting but time consuming to raid

Ok I'm just being fair to those people and giving benefit of the doubt here cause I pause sometimes because my kids are waking up and crying. Usually I can get them back to sleep within 2 minutes. I try to be quick and it's definitely not trolling. I don't get mad about pausing any more because I look at why I pause the game.

From what I can see MLB does still acknowledge his record, at least it's on their website where he shows as the all time hits leader.
Yeah they've repeated the 4,200 + quite a bit but honestly I think because the Reds as an organization have still loved and supported him, for the most part, the MLB kind of has to acknowledge his presence and accomplishments.
Maybe you said this yourself idr, they let slide the Mark MacQuires if the league because the league was in trouble so they needed the fan money but, that's what set people off about Rose in the first place. Idk I wasn't alive during his reign nor was I old enough to truly develop an opinion. I just love the guy as an entertainer and ball player. Crazy immoralities outside the game aside, he did a good job for the sport. If he wasn't amazing at the sport this would never be a debate.

Yeah this exactly. I'm actually a big hater on how hard it is something to get stubs but that's mostly in the case of trying to buy costly cards off the market. 1000-5000 is pretty easy to earn back just a couple packs and selling equipment you don't use. I won't be upset with event costs. I just don't do slot of events either if I am really struggle bussing in stubs.
He broke Rule #2. He got the described penalty. And as mentioned it does not mention "For Life" it says "shall be declared permanently ineligible". It does not mention that it is OK if he is betting on his team to win. It does not specify a difference between a player or a manager.
And you are right and being fair. I just get heated because I've grown up around people (old timers of baseball) who really support the Hit King.
And in today's age we have let gambling go so [censored] far it's now ingrained into every organization. And for some reason we still treat rose as if he's the biggest criminal in rigging games.
