Question about what TV/Monitor to play on?
-
Debating over getting a bigger TV, smaller TV, or monitor. Do you recommend playing on something bigger or smaller? What do you guys play on? Thanks
-
@bonion why did you do this to me? I haven’t played the show cuz I can’t catch up with fastballs (first time in like 8 years) Now your gonna get me hyped like this is the reason. Lol I am going to try this and hope it works

@CEZdominatesAD i knew right away bc I could even feel the “snappiness” of button pressing navigating the menu’s

My ASUS 24” monitor is incredible
-
@bonion lol yes!! Told my girl she needed to get of the tv I gotta check something out lmao.
-
@bonion that [censored] helped a lot man I went 2-1 but only cuz I was early on so many pitches. But the 2 I won I hit inside fastball and sinker
-
@CEZdominatesAD nice...graphics take a slight hit but to me response time > graphics

I’ve been playing better on a tv than my monitor lol but I regret playing on a monitor I should’ve never throw the remote at the screen so now I’m down a run

45 inch LED Samsung with HDMI input renamed to PC on game mode. Renaming input to PC reduces m/s for any Samsung owner out there
What?!?!?? I just switched this. Now, I just need my kids to go to sleep so I can see the difference. A couple days ago I realized that i had somehow turned off game mode, and it was amazing how much better I played online when I turned it back in. If what you just said also makes a difference I better start making room for my 12-0 and top 50 nameplates...or maybe my blood pressure will go down at least.

is this just a samsung thing? I have a panasonic and I switch it to game mode but I don't see any difference really. I still can't get near a fastball online. Is there something else I can do here?

In this case, size doesn’t really matter. Input lag matters. And I guess response time.

Go onto a website called rtings.com. They do a lot of tests on TV's, monitors, headphones, etc. One of the cool things about their monitor reviews is that they measure input lag @60hz (PS4, Cable TV etc are all running at 60hz). Any monitor with a native resolution refresh rate below 9ms (the fastest they've tested in 5 years is 8.2) will feel almost like playing Nintendo on a tube.
The other important thing is to match the resolution to the source. If you have a PS4 pro running at 4k, then get a 4k monitor. If you don't...then try to find a 1080p monitor. This matters because if the monitor's native resolution is 4k, and it's being fed a 1080p source, then the monitor will have to upscale the image to fill the screen...this will create some input lag.
