Opponent starts Graterol. I hit him good enough: 6 runs over 5 innings. I'm up 6-3 and he goes to the bullpen only to bring out Newhouser. You're losing by three in the sixth buddy, the only way this is an acceptable move is if you're one game away from WS. Nope, 735 rating. It's like little league where one guys pitches the first half of the game and another pitches the second half. Do you really need to win this game that bad?
I'm a big fan of choosing your pitcher. I think it's the best addition this year. But using starters out of the pen has got to go. The meta shouldn't be to play every game of ranked like game 7 of the World Series, without any repercussions because Kluber and Newhouser have rubber arms. I can't remember the last time I saw a true reliever in a ranked game.

I will say I invested a lot in my pen, and I will be cruising with kluber Oswalt or sale, and bring the pen in when the pitch count is over 85... all of a sudden my opponent “ wakes up “ and starts shelling my pen, night after night... I since have just been going to 2 starters of my rotation 90 prospect Mackenzie Gore and Bob Gibson, and lord and behold they have been closing great games for me... but Chapman, Franco, Rivera, dolittle and Giles have been lit up like crazy... hell if it gets to the 10th I warm up kluber or Oswalt whoever has less energy

give someone an inch, they take a mile. Had to know this would be abused.

Same; tried staying true to real life for fairness purposes, but unless they put RPs in with full energy and 75% confidence more than once in a blue moon, you’re seeing a starter if the game is close. I will now keep my SP in the game even if he’s yellow, as he’s better than LATE GAME SPECIALIST WITH 95 CLUTCH coming in the 7th. That’s the only comeback code/logic: the way they screw over relievers and make them useless

Haha, excellent job by me. It was late when I posted.

I like to use Morton then go to my starter. Easy for me to get advantage.
-
My thought still hasn’t changed on this. Easy fix, take 2-3 full innings to warm a SP up fully and if they put him in before that his energy is super low along with confidence. And if u do want him up fully to use him his energy should get drained by double the normal speed to account for it. Simple easy fix. It’s ok to use a SP out of the bullpen but let’s handicapt it so it makes some sense in the long run.

Do you find that you always have a starter ready to go the next game?

Just wait until more high 90's starting pitchers come out. There won't be any relievers being used by July. And fielding will still be a nightmare...
SDS should only allow SP to come in after you've exhausted your bullpen during the game.

Yeah or tweak stamina. Personally, I don’t think stamina should affect the rate of recovery, just how deep into the game a pitcher can throw. Right now there’s no drawbacks to using starters out of the pen over and over.

Maybe his pen was depleted... Maybe because he's down he didn't want to burn his pen. Why do folks here always think they can determine what is or isn't acceptable?

Because I am judge and jury.

No. I tagged Newhouser for another 3. They guy quit down 9-3.

BECAUSE IF IT MAKES US LOSE WE NO LIKE IT!
Really, though...I think it sucks...but it's allowed. I would love it if they'd do something about bullpen arms, though. They get tired before hitting double digit pitches, and that gets very frustrating.
-
Im down by three, one out to go with the bases juiced. Corey Kluber hits a ball just over Ryne Sandberg’s head and ties the game on the subsequent errant throw to first.
There, fixed your title.

If he had a depleted bullpen when the game started, he should have subbed them out after his last game. RP Nolan Ryan is cheap...
-
All I'm saying is Eovaldi should have a perk where he turns into a Diamond if you put him into relieve after the 6th inning.

Anybody else thinks it’s funny you can’t bring in starters vs the cpu.
