Just an observation...over half of my opponents are gold level or above. The remaining are In silver. I am not good. So, all of my games are against people who have not won many games.
I know xp level does not equate to ability. And, this isn’t meant to be a complain post. I’m at silver 40 and I pass no judgement on those who get to the play the game more. But, last year I know I would face a lot of bronze players in events.
What is this? Is the matchmaking different? Have the quarantines reduced the number of new players? Have the quarantines just allowed people to play more?
I play a LOT. I just figured In events I would run across more people who play casually. Any thoughts?

Combination of all the above. Also HR Derby grinders are all over.

A lot of people probably dont have enough prospects/fotf to field a team would be my guess.

Oh. I didn’t think of this. That’s probably it. Who wants to play an event with their all common team?
That is a bummer though if you just picked up the game. Or, if you just don’t have the time to play. But, I guess the pure magnitude of the events makes it so “casuals” will have a harder time getting rewards.
To be honest, I’m surprised we haven’t seen comments about this. Maybe forum member all play too much.
-
Yeah, we all play too much in here. Ive played less this year than ever before, and I've still got enough gold prospects to field a team.
But I can see a lot of casual players not having any fotf and only a couple prospects.
-
I agree it's probably because of the ability to field a team. I have been very very disappointed with the events so far. It's basically the same teams I'm playing in RS, pretty much all face of the franchise cards. Not only that, but with FotF being allowed in two straight event's ( maybe 3?) There's been no variety.
-
I only have Torres and Snell in Fotf cards, rests are commons, so I stay away. Criteria for this one is lame, pretty sure not the only one in this situation. I have so little time to play, I don’t want to spend that time in M2O or Showdowns...
-
I’m only playing events to get the 2nd inning mission stars. After that I’m done
-
On top of rosters and no relievers, I'm sure the six innings keeps people away as well.
It's just a poorly set up event.
-
Quarantines/Stay home orders OP. Lots of people have more time to play than ever before.
-
At least half of the events should be live series cards. You collect them all to use them for a few weeks. The main collection rewards are the only reason any live series cards are needed anymore, which is sad. Once we went to the 125 rating live series cards became nothing but obstacles to the new shiny headliner for completing all collections.

The event is terrible. I’m not a great player my anymeans and I’m not terrible. But the match making is awful. Through 31 event
Games I have played someone in WS 10
Times so far. And every team has 8-9 FOTF who are shelling my pitchers. -
I would play events if I could get online stats with Robinson,Gibson, and posada because I don’t want to play them in my ranked lineup
-
People with high XP are more like to have a higher number of FOTF cards.
