The game is amazing and user skill is very important. The main problem is many users want to blame someone or something else for their failures.
yea for sure, not a thing wrong with the game, outfielders are supposed to get hit in the head on every fly ball

I never had this happen to me. Maybe take better routes

Blah, blah, blah. If SDS announced a stub sale you’d probably be the first one to pull out the debit card from the stimulus account.

This is a big part of it. My only issue with fielding is fly balls close to the wall, and fielding off the wall. I lost a game last night because a ball bounced off the wall and right past my fielder who was standing in the correct spot.
A second issue I’ve had is catching balls at the wall, the just bounce off the wall and into my fielder and he refuses to pick it up.
For balls in the middle of the field, I take realistic routes instead of running straight to the ball. I have not been hit in the head once.

I had 0 issues prior to last patch that FIXED it. Nothing to do with routes; as soon as you move your fielder you feel it: he will be super fast/sensitive; when it will be an out, he’s on that pre-established track where you can’t go faster/slower and have to follow the animation trail to the marker. Again, routes have nothing to do with it. Haven’t happened yet in Conquest or M2O, but RS/BR, oh my...

Take better routes?...what about when you're standing there waiting and it happens?
You don't play online right?

Why do you guys still argue with the troll?

Ya’ll remember the stream about 2 weeks before launch when Ramone said “wow never seen that before” with the ball bouncing off outfielders glove and he double snagging it? We shoulda known then something was up! I’m thinking wow they took these animations to the extreme

And I haven’t had the issue at all. So either I’m special, or routes have something to do with it. I’ve seen a number of videos presented as evidence where the player runs directly to the spot and gets hit. There’s no consideration of the actions the player would need to take: turn around, put glove up, catch ball. Running straight to the spot and stopping isn’t going to allow for that. I’m not saying it never happens, but I am saying that it doesn’t happen to me, and I’m cognizant of the routes that I take and I avoid it. So I don’t believe you when you say it has nothing to do with route.

Agree with this. But I will also say the game is kinda broken. I have fun I have success but it is broken, not to the point of not playing. For me at least.

Too late, I already spent $300 today. Wish you had told me what to do with my money sooner so I would have known.
On stubs!? Kinell.

I never had an issue with it either, until the patch to fix it, I was fielding .997 prior to the patch with the very few errors I had coming from mistimed throws, so I would say I know how to take a route to a fly ball. I am convinced SDS could release a version of the show that was just a black screen and you would think it's fantastic.

Well, it doesn’t. Been playing this game since 2008, and happened for first time offline minutes ago. Player doesn’t lock, and the other it’s a ground hit up the middle and the CF just runs over it like he never saw it. Very strange

Ah, bought all the Headliners today and got Springer'd
-
I bought $50 in stubs last night. And before anyone says, it wasn't with a stimulus check, haven't got one. Used a PSN card my aunt sent, my birthday was a few days back. I couldn't find any games I wanted, so I caved.
I mainly wanted to get Feller and Hanley, so I could have the 75 stars for the next inning. After locking them in you get 15k in stubs, forgot that. Decided to buy a 10 pack, which I hardly ever do along with 2 singles, so I had 12 packs. Get through a couple and pull Story, not the best but okay. Then it happened.
AL, Center Fielder, Live Series. I had seen a video on reddit where someone had that and freaked out, only to get Springer. so I figure Story and Springer make back my stubs. Press X and there stands Trout. After changing my shorts I decided to sell him. I only have 7 teams done, not close on the big ones. After the sale I ended up with around 266k stubs from the sale..
Went on a small shopping spree to shore up my pen. Bought Britton, Chapman and Nen. I'm so tempted to buy that CP Smoltz, but feel his pitches aren't varied. Maybe I'll buy some prospects for the event, I don't know.
