Showdown should be taken away, permanently.

my point is it forces you to play in a higher difficulty which is fine but if I’m playing in a higher difficulty then I should receive the reward. If I told you to go work for 1 hour and in the end I said you have a 70-80% chance to get paid if you worked really really hard would you do it?
The only show down that forced a higher difficulty was the Gegrom one. I'm sorry but veteran is NOT a higher difficulty. I would even that All-star is basically the base DD difficulty since events, BR, and anything above division series is All-star. And if you're talking about DQ with your second statement. The harder you "work" the better your odds. This isn't a job this is a game. You aren't guaranteed to make WS and get the best rewards, you aren't guaranteed to finish programs, lol so your argument are without any actual facts.
-
Its very simple. Play at higher speeds you will get better at the game.. play a few games on hof vs the computers. When you go back to veteran you'll be a pro. This is baseball hitting is supposed to be hard. You have to train your mind on the higher difficulties. Takes practice. Hitting a 100 mph fastball will never be considered casual gameplay. Even on rookie.
Baseball will never be a relax and play game. It can be very fun. If you are willing to get better. Im 40. I dont ever play vs the computer on anything less than all star difficulties
-
rookie mode cpu this year doesn't throw strikes so you can't swing at everything
-
Outside of the Degrom showdown they've been pretty easy this year. I'm just an average player and I'm pretty sure I've done all if not most on the 1st try. Yes the HR Derby one is a lot of runs and Ramone is all over the place but the dudes tossing 79 mph fastballs. Wait for one in the zone and blast it.
Same, but I'm below average and use directional. I beat all but DeGrom. Tried once and said nope, I'll just buy it.
-
I was worried too when I saw how many runs you need to get in the first mission but Ramone is pitching and its all slow. Sit and bang. I got it on my first try. Be patient because of course Ramone throws a lot of balls.
-
@WackyGrass_PSN this is the weakest take I have seen. They basically give you this showdown and you have the nerve to say this. Weak AF
-
Person complains about being bad. What happens next is SHOCKING.
-
You probably suck at everything. That's sad...
-
SDS should cater the game to the player base that are missing thumbs. Otherwise it is just not fair.

Ah yes, let's agree with a person who sucks at the game, yet wants a game mode removed because he sucks at it.
-
How would you even play this game with no thumbs

You would probably fail the homerun derby showdown. So...poorly.
-
Just a friendly reminder that the CPU will not attempt to throw out runners stealing, no matter how slow, until the deficit is within five or six. So if you get a runner on first you should put him on third before swinging to ensure that you are not hitting into ground ball double plays. This hint may help you beat the showdowns.

I'd rather there be a way to get the online rewards without having to play online. Maybe like an additional mini season or showdown with the same rewards as online play.
It feels like everyone complains about cheaters and quitters online anyway. I have no desire to interact with those types, so I'd rather be able to play the CPU and obtain those exclusive awards.
I'm guessing the online players can still obtain the offline rewards by only playing online, so it would be good if there was a way for the offline players to obtain online without having to spend money. -
@olemissnole810_XBL you can obtain any online card by simply buying it… cards locked behind mini seasons and conquest can’t be bought. You should either have to buy it or play the game mode to get the card.
-
Let me point it out again, Showdown is the worst mode in this game by far, it's even less tolerable than playing online. It's the best example of how disconnected SDS is from its customers. They remove all of the moments from manuy programs and throw in a showdown, somehow it must be less effort for them. Last year it was terrible and somehow this year it's ten times worse.
-
@victoryphoenix_PSN Showdown is a great mode. They should give us more of them.

And I will always counter that statement with DQ is the worst mode. A mode where you can play and succeed in all your goals but still not get the final reward is a waste of my time, as someone who does not play at higher difficulties.
-
Not trying to derail this thread, but if SDS would have DQ “remember” your percentage of getting the best rewards, the mode would be really fun.
Example, if you have an 85% chance and don’t get it, then when you replay, you start with an 85% chance and build it up from there.
Like @dolenz_psn said, if you play on lower difficulty, you will be potentially wasting a huge amount of time for a standard pack or BIAH pack.
DQ is not worth it in its current form , IMO
-
@capardo_XBL This is a great idea and would make DQ significantly better.
