This Is Ridiculous

@macdaddy-o_psn - I just sent you a dm.
-
@PAinPA_PSN GTA will take away from this years game and next years for sure.
-
@SavageSteve74_PSN Been saying this on here for years and 99% don’t listen.

Sorry, but with the insane prices for cards, limited ways to earn a large amount of stubs, and number of cards required to complete collections that only come in pack luck (which I never have), I don’t see getting ANY 99s until maaaaybe the All-Star break, if then.
But Ohtani and Judge prices alone preclude completing the Live series any time soon. Victor Martinez is way out of reach. So a 99 Cabrera is the only possibility in the foreseeable future.
This is just absurd. Either give us better pack luck, better opportunities to earn rare cards, or better chances to earn stubs. Don’t really see the fun in getting the job 99 cards just when baseball season is over.
I don’t mean this in a condescending way, but stub management + flipping passively will get collections done easily.
I list every single card I get on the market. Buy cards when they dip, sell cards at high values, and passively flip.
All while only playing ~1.5 hours per day and working 60 hour weeks.
I have every card in the game outside of the new bosses, Mookie, the new WS rewards and then the ones we haven’t needed for card-based L&F collections.
It’s super tedious and I get people don’t want to do this. But it’s really the only way to do collections without spending serious $ or playing the game for a living.
100% agree. I set a series of buy orders in the morning and in the evening while at the gym in between sets I sell them all off. I can get anywhere between 20k-30k a day passively, hour to no more than an hour and a half a day. Sell off all dupes and any diamonds I get from packs. I play with no sell cards I have earned. I'm gonna sell off Soto since he's around/over 100k. I also don't lock anything in . The problem for me, and it's a me problem, is that no matter how many stubs I accrue forking over 800k+ stubs for any card is a losing proposition for the player. The 99's for LS collections aren't worth the close to million stubs for that one card. 99's are coming soon and they will be better.

Doesn't GTA 6 come out in November? I doubt it will have much impact , game is already pretty much done by that point.
This is such an ignorant take. GTA 5 peaked in concurrent players about 10 years after release.

Your last sentence is the crux here. It sucks you fork over so many stubs for cards you won’t even use not once. I want to pay stubs for cards I’ll use - so I buy those.
Some of these collection rewards are so crappy and I refuse to buy the players.
Hated having to buy Ohtani to get Pujols. Thousand hours for an Ohtani I could give a [censored] less about

@GoozeFn_PSN at the same time ive been able to complete every other collection not spending that initial 500 to 600k on ohtani at the beginning. It works both ways. Id have live series done sure but I wouldnt have marte, Ramirez or miggy. Ohtani has never really been below 600k at any point this year. A ton of stubs either way. 600 or 900 at that point what's the difference. I would have saved myself 300k stubs over the course of 3 months. Thats nothing. My pack luck has been zilch. The choice is simple go after live series early or punt it. If you punt it, then you get to grab almost every other card you like or want to use. Maybe you were able to do both. You also pulled ohtani. And have had better pack luck. If your pack luck sucks. You should always punt live series.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS I bought Ohtani for 530. He was the first diamond I bought. Judge for 350. It doesn’t stop there. I got every gold and lower at quicksell. It adds up. When you finish the live series early, these other collections are a piece of cake.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS I had every card and millions invested long before I pulled Ohtani.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN ok ive done the same ive sold off and quick sold every gold card as well. 530 or 880k talking about 350k stubs over the course of 3 months.. not that drastic of a difference when you consider the time value.
-
Yeah, I never liked the common "always focus on live series first" advice. If you do that, you basically cant play along with any updates for the first two months - cause you cant buy anything. It feels like you cant play with the game.
If you're really focused on investing and selling high and buying low, you can have it all...but thats not easy, and probably requires a few lucky guesses
-
@rubicante23_PSN right. I dont do all the investing and my pack luck has been really bad. If i put up 530k for ohtani at the beginning I wouldnt have enjoyed the game. I have every great card in the game besides a few of the expensive chase cards and pujols and tulo. With 400k stubs in the kitty. If i purchased ohtani at 530k I wouldnt have that now.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS It’s more than that though because 350k can be turned into millions over a month or 2.
-
One thing to remember is the next collection is going to be Prince Fielder
Just buy cards you want to play with, don’t bother with collections. Don’t save a bunch of money for some 99 you’ll never use
-
@rubicante23_PSN Simply not true. The gatekeepers are some of the best players to use early and the collection rewards give you an advantage. There’s no trouble keeping up. Getting the expensive stuff out of the way early makes it easy to do these little collections as they come. Maybe listen to someone who’s done it this way for years, has every card and 5 mil in duplicates and not the people holding their empty pockets wondering why Ohtani is 900k.
-
I did the investing thing for the first time ever.
Invested 180k stubs (all I had), made it all back and 250k more. Definitely the way to go.

-
Game gets a lot easier with effort
-
@JenkinMeyer_PSN VMart is going to be in my lineup for a long time.
-
Right on, just saying for others
-
I wish I had your patience!!
