Did they change the cpu setting on update?
-
Man I swear playing offline on rookie changed after this last update. I’m a WS player and for the first time ever I’m late on sinkers and fastballs…. On rookie!!! Every perfect is an out or a warning track shot. Even silver cards have 99 elite defense you can get anything to land. The pitchers throw 8 balls to a strike and when they do throw a strike it’s a rot, even w trash pitchers. You get an occasional meatball still but nothing like before. I was putting up like 15 + runs in mini seasons now I’m struggling to score a couple. What changed? Are they trying to make grinding harder as they realized people were fulfilling starts and beating the mini seasons very fast. Well that’s the point of rookie, I don’t always want a crazy challenge and want to play casual. The cpu still sucks at hitting but hitting on my end and their pitching and D seem like they changed the sliders. Anyone else?

Kind of but I think it’s generally just because you’re used to playing online and sped up, and the hitting window is so much larger on rookie. I bet next game you’ll put up 17 runs.
They definitely didn’t do an update I think your timing is just way off
As far as the defense - yes the sliders on all defenders are insane for cpu even on rookie. They need to adjust that big time. Commons and bronzes just all have 99 arms and athleticism.
Diamond Quest is that x 2

So online doesnt give us any rewards besides weekend classic/ranked and the occasional multi player and event programs. And offline is just annoying to play this year. Fantastic. Yes ive also noticed how annoying the cpu is this year.

Welcome to the Show

there are a lot of these posts, and I don't understand any of them. If you're a world series player, I don't know how you're not easily slamming cpu on any setting. I keep making posts asking for CPU to be more of a realistic challenge...cause I'd rather play offline and have CPU act in a way that make it tough to beat, instead of a way that's super easy to exploit.

Yep. Playing online is the only baseball experience- offline is so mind numbing and all you do is exploit the AI.
I realize that’s an impossibility to program AI in a baseball game - you’re inputting what pitch you’re throwing to the computer - it’s not like you’re fooling a person on the other end with the slider - the AI knows what you’re throwing because you pressed the button
So I guess I do empathize with SDS or whoever in that way. Kind of impossible to make the CPU not seem like they’re cheating

I feel like AI should be able to emulate a human players, though. It should have a ton of data to be able to do that, no?

Maybe - not smart enough to know. Way above my pay grade

AI is only as smart as the human its trained by. At least that is what I've been told.

That's just great, now in addition to worry about being exterminated by machine intelligence,we now have to worry about all the dumbsh t machine intelligence out there

To the original OP, yes, “something” changed for inning 2. WBC mini seasons got much much harder on Friday. Still winning, but by 1-0 scores instead of 4-6 to 0 before.

I’ll experiment and see too, I’ve been playing ranked all weekend and stopped the mini-season grind

Scary, huh?

MLB 12 The Show was definitely that game, and it was balanced correctly. Only the best could play on All-Star/Legend.

True, but there’s been so much staff turnover since then. Nobody knows how to properly balance it. Last year I felt good playing on Allstar vs the CPU…this year I feel like I’m getting mangled every game that isn’t Veteran
