Tell me I'm wrong lol

Not wrong at all. I play on HOF and All-Star and there is a noticeable difference in how the game plays in showdown! All the games major flaws like fielding, pitching and hitting timing seem to be magnified significantly.

and they can't sell me on the fact that these are on rookie or veteran lol, why lie about it?

Did you play the Show 19?
This feels like moments from last year. A new mode that seems to play "beyond" the indicated level.
When moments first came out, the CPU would get every bounce, dive and be placed in the perfect spot to snag the ball you just smashed.
The 2nd inning showdown has given me fits. I do well enough to make my stubs back but I end up failing on one of the other two bosses.
I am not a bad player, I would say that I am slightly above average, but this mode drives me nuts.
It turns guys like Yordan Alvarez into Jim Edmonds. Heck, it even makes JD Martinez a good fielder.Showdown is great for Team Affinities considering the time sink required for earning points.
A full MTO run is approximately 8-10 hours and to get enough innings (1,500 team innings needed for 30 pts, assuming you do the team collection and team mission for 20 pts) is also very time-consuming.I guess we either have to deal with it or find another way to get Team Affinities or program stars done.

CPU is always a better player than the human. There is no way the JD Martinez is robbing a HR when my diamond fielding Mantle isn't able to lock on a ball or locks on early and it drops because he is slowed down when locked on.

I played the 2nd inning program for 3 and a half hours last night. Any time I had to face Feller for the boss I forfeit the run. I basically tried to set up my team with as many lefties and go for facing Giles as the main boss. Whenever I would just skip to the boss and need 15 runs I could score 11-13 runs easy every time. Whenever I tried playing all the missions and only needed like 7-8 runs to win the whole thing, I couldn't score 3. CPU would dot the corners, make diving catches, and all my good/good and good/squared hits were right at people. Finally beat them on a walk off with 1 out left and 2 strike count. Saving grace was my gold choice pack ended up being Trout! I'll take it.

I had JD Martinez perfectly field the ball off of the Monster and throw an absolute laser to second to nail Harrison Bader (87 SPD). This wasnt a line drive off the Monster that he fielded cleanly. It was a regular fly ball that hit about 2/3 of the way up the wall and he still nailed Bader.

Congrats on the Trout and on beating the Bane of my existence.

Remember it's not just about any one hand but the amount of hands played per hour.
