Here is the AI Summary
The updates to Franchise Mode in MLB The Show 26 focus on creating a more realistic and immersive front-office experience through the following features:
Centralized Trade Management: A brand-new Trade Hub serves as a "one-stop shop" for reviewing trade offers, targets, blocks, and rumors.
Customizable GM Experience: Players can streamline their management by customizing their level of participation in staffing and contract negotiations. Additionally, a custom game entry feature allows GMs to play only pivotal moments rather than every inning of every game.
Revamped Trade Logic: The game features updated valuation equations for all-stars and prospects to prevent unrealistic trades. This includes "untouchable player" logic for franchise cornerstones and the incorporation of farm system rankings into trade evaluations.
Dynamic Competitive Factors: The CPU now considers a team's season standings and whether they are rebuilding or contending when making deals. For example, rebuilding teams will prioritize young, controllable assets, while contenders will seek specific roles like left-handed relievers or bench depth.
Market and Strategy Constraints: Trade receptivity is influenced by market size, where small-market teams may avoid high-priced long-term deals. Furthermore, teams in playoff races or divisional rivalries are less likely to boost the prospects of their direct competitors.
Supply and Demand: The trade market now accounts for premium position values—such as catchers, shortstops, and starting pitchers—as well as market sentiment, which affects player costs based on supply.
Immersive Trade Mechanics: "Insta trades" have been removed in favor of a trade delay system with pending offers, giving GMs time to counter-offer or study rumors. A new "fog of war" introduces the challenge of navigating false trade rumors.
Expanded Package Sizes: GMs can now execute four-for-four player trades, allowing for packages of up to eight total players.Modernized Roster Logic: Batting orders and pitching rotations have been updated to reflect current MLB trends, such as moving away from speed-only leadoff hitters. Roster decisions now also factor in a player's secondary positions.
Bullpen Management: To prevent bullpen burnout, the game restricts the daily use of everyday relievers. Additionally, "bullpen games" have been introduced, allowing teams to pitch complete games by committee either manually or through simulation.

So basically they did the absolute bare minimum. Welp, MLB The Show 25 Version 2. Can't wait to see Diamond Dynasty (oh hell nah)!

The bare minimum would be doing nothing.
I am not going to pretend that getting trade logic right is an easy task. It may be the trickiest task in all of franchise. Out of the Park baseball just released a pre-release video a day or two ago where they were talking about their updated trade logic so it must be a bear to cover all the bases when it comes to trades.
That said, the fact that almost the whole video talked about trades is rather underwhelming.

@Dolenz_PSN
Haven't they been talking about "updated" trade logic since the beginning of time? I STILL don't see a difference and don't expect much of a difference either in 26. -

Seems to be a never ending quest as players seem to always find a way to exploit the trade logic every year in both games to get lopsided trades.

@Dolenz_PSN
But what's even crazier is that the thing that they allegedly "improved" that will wind up staying the same...is. the. only. thing. they. talked. about (aside from whatever bullpen burnout is - woopdidoo). -
@TheBigPapa55_PSN They say upgraded logic every single year and in my experience, it hasn’t improved much at all.
-
In the video they said scouting has been changed. Much needed and I would have liked to have seen examples. End of March to October was welcome. Sounds like they are listening to the community.
-
@alstl04_PSN I don’t see how removing a mode is a good thing.

They apparently put it in franchise and changed the name. The problem with March to October is they were spending franchise developer time on it and a lot of franchise users were not buying the new game because of lack of attention to franchise.
-
@alstl04_PSN And yet, Franchise still got very little improvement.
-
Looking forward to the revamped trade system. Builds off of improvements to free agency and scouting, both of which are vastly improved from previous versions, although they still need work.
Trade logic has improved very slightly over the years. Now most of my trade reversals are non-playoff bound teams trading for rental players. Looks like some of the improvements will address this issue. I think a possible solution that would appease most gamers would be to have a trade commissioner mode where all trades have to be approved prior to execution.

It got more than normal. What they were doing was developing stuff for March to October and putting that shallow stuff in franchise. In the video the developer said the new trade system isn't March to October. It's a thousand times deeper.My concern is what they said about scouting. He said someone figured out how to identify generational prospects and they have changed that. At the end he said scouting was now "fog of war".
That's not a good sign. IRL the top ten prospects are publicly known before the draft. They aren't a mystery to MLB scouts and general managers. Off camera someone said "no scouting or draft". Perhaps that's because they are going to do another video on it but I won't be buying the new game if they have made scouting even worse than it already is. Perhaps they have expanded the draft to more realistic numbers. I'll reserve judgement until I see more.
-
Question: why the [censored] did they not add downloadable and customizable draft classes? How badly do they really want to fall behind? Literally every game has this except MLB The Show. This way, we can actually...you know, kind of draft real players that the community makes instead of getting random game-generated bozos.
-
@alstl04_PSN This generational talent issue came up 2 years ago when they first revised the scouting system. There were a few easily identifiable attribute totals and gaps that you could look for to identify a generational talent, if there was any for that draft. That item was resolved for last year's game. I'm guessing he was referencing that issue, as I haven't seen anyone document being able to do that for 25.
I don't remember specifics on the prior scouting, but the revised scouting has always been a fog of war. You can scout someone 100%+ and still only have a range that they fall into, and they can still turn out to be a bust, just like IRL.
My only problem with the current scouting is any concerted scouting effort I make gets me about 5 times the info that the CPU teams get, so to make it competitive I only use autoscout. That takes away some of the immersion into the game.

That's not correct. If you fully scout someone you can determine the exact attributes if you save the first unscouted prospect pool and do the math. The developer said the change to scouting now is "fog of war". I'm okay with what if I get 40 or 50 draft picks and international signings. If I still have only 6 draft picks combined with "fog of war" meaning I don't know their attributes then that's a poor idea. I wouldn't assume the CPU team don't know who they are drafting. Given the slow process of scouting a player and only 3 scouts I think the CPU has as much or more info.
I'll reserve judgement until someone posts a scouting video but I won't be buying this game until that is resolved. The other changes look very positive.
