Are we forced to be satisfied? I don’t get it…Not at all. You're also not forced to buy, play or discuss a game you probably havent liked in years. If something makes you miserable, why spend any time on it?
-
Nobody’s miserable. That’s a gross over-interpretation. Like I said, if we’re valued customers paying $70 for a roster update, but since we love baseball and appreciate the game for what it is and want it represented properly in the form of a baseball sim and aren’t satisfied, and this has been going on for years btw, we have every right to express dissatisfaction if it stays constructive.

You want it represented properly in the form of a baseball sim but no one can explain what that means. As far as i can tell, baseball is pitch, hit, field, run the bases....and all of that is in the game. All rule changes are in the game, stadiums are up to date, rosters are updated weekly and attributes seem to be on par with the production of their real life counterparts. Whats missing? What would you add to the game of baseball thats been played the same way for 150 years without changing the game of baseball?
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN
There’s a lot you can do, actually. -
I wonder how much of this is going to be online
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN LMAO w that logic, we all would be playing Atari 2600 baseball by your descrip of the game (includes everything ya said). How much better does the guy need to explain it?

Lack of Realism Needs to be Improved
This sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm mainly talking about rain-outs, challenges, and doubleheaders, three common parts of baseball that are absent from the game.Rain outs? Really? Who wants to start a game just to have it rained out? You and maybe one other person in here. That may be the dumbest thing ive ever seen requested in this game. "I wanna start a game, put up 4 runs and then have a rain delay in the 5th, game gets called and then i have to replay it some other time"
Challenges were added this year.
Whats the point in adding doubleheaders? So you can just see it on the schedule? Even in franchise, player fatigue isnt really a thing...and you can play back to back games any time. Hell you can play quadruple headers whenever you want.

Free Agency Is Good, But It Still Lacks Compared to Other Sports Rivals
Also, what's the logic behind a player's motivation to sign with you in MLB The Show? Does he hear whispers from MLB insiders that a certain team may or may not be interested in them and they just decide "Hey, they like me apparently. Why not play for them just because they're interested in me." Tell me you're lazy without telling me you're lazy. Now, what usually happens in real life is teams actually meet with the players they're pursuing, pitch their team (no pun intended), and discuss possible salaries and contract longevity.Guy....you do realize this is a video game, right? There will be no courting players, flying out to their home for private lunches and meetings with their agent and lawyer present. Thats just never gonna happen. The "motivation" for the AI player to join your team is "This guy paid 70-100 for this game, we're going to let him sign this player to improve his imaginary roster and have fun."

In-Game Atmosphere is Pretty Bland
Aside from the pre-recorded chants and jeers that randomly play during the game, I really don't feel that the game atmosphere is all that immersive. The fans just don't do anything aside from mindlessly reach at balls coming their way with the most unrealistic animation ever invented and occasionally chant "overrated" at Derek Jeter, or chant MVP for Kolby Allard. I remember playing MLB 2K7 with the Mets at Shea, and these two fans were figuring out how to pronounce Damon Easley's name. You could actually hear their conversation, which was quite funny and was cool to hear.Really? We wanna hear conversations in the crowd now? This is what we're gonna complain about? Again, insert eyeroll emoji here.

Outside of Roster Moves, What Can You Actually Do Outside of Playing
Nothing. Let's fix this in a quick and simple way. How about setting giveaway nights. I saw this in NHL and old MLB The Show's and this looks like a really cool feature. The announcers would even show the player-specific bobblehead in-game, which was even cooler. Or, setting ticket prices, and managing your profit from regional TV networks and sponsorships.Crazy. I thought this was a baseball game and the whole point of the game was to PLAY BASEBALL.

If you want bare bones gameplay, that's fine. Go play RBI Baseball or something like that - it's still baseball at the end of the day just like you said. Just because others want realism doesn't mean you have to call our opinions dumb because one they're not, and two, other sports game do this, three, it's not unrealistic it's a real part of baseball (you say you want to play baseball but then when we want core aspects of the game of baseball integrated into a sim you call us out because you just enjoy ragebait I guess Idk). I don't get why people wanting immersion sets you off in such a personal way, it's like you're defending SDS with your life. And it's funny how you called out nothing but franchise, where this is the only place this stuff actually makes a difference smh
